We all know that when it comes to pulling on girls’ heartstrings, all it takes is an Ed Sheeran song to get us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Why? Because, sad or happy, somehow Ed knows exactly how we’re feeling at all times. How? He’s a “Ginger Genuis” that’s how.
In this latest video, self-proclaimed “romantically-challenged filmaker” Tommy Wooldridge tries his luck at getting a girlfriend by using some famous lyrics from “Lego House” and “Give Me Love.” The video has been getting a lot of hits lately and it might have something to do with Ed personally giving it his stamp of approval on Twitter.
Sadly, the lyrics don’t prove to be successful on Tommy’s search for love. But to be fair a lot of the girls claimed to have been already taken. That’s what they said when he tried picking up the ladies with Taylor Swift lyrics…
What do you think? Would Ed Sheeran lyrics work as a pick-up line for you?
Well, here’s some news that made it feel like it’s Christmas morning.
They may be on their Take Me Home world tour, but the boys of One Direction have also been working hard on their third album. They hope to have out by Christmas and it looks like they may just hit that goal.
In a recent interview with MTV, their ginger buddy, Ed Sheeran, let the cat out of the bag by claiming that the album is already finished! (Cue the squeals!) But if you were hoping for another Ed Sheeran/1D collaboration, you won’t find it on this next album. Deciding to keep his songs for himself this time around, Ed didn’t contribute anything.
“I haven’t done any songs on this one; I’ve actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my album,” he said. “Once my album’s done, then we’ll see. But their album is already finished.”
Ed has become One Direction’s biggest collaborator, having donated already three songs for their last couple of records, having written hits like “Moments” for Up All Night, “Over Again” and the swoon worthy “Little Things” for Take Me Home.
Ed or no Ed, this album is will be at the top of every Directioners’ Christmas list and have us dancing with joy. Yay!

Austin Mahone jammed out during Taylor Swift’s concert in Detroit on Saturday. It was the 16-year-old’s first show on Swift’s Red tour. He tweeted about his first show, thanking Swift, the crowd, and get ready for Miami.
@martafdezlp Incredible!! the crowd was amazing! ????

WHAT AN AMAZING FIRST SHOW!!!
Thank u again @taylorswift13 #REDTOUR

So cute and humble. The only thing cuter is his instagram picture of him, Taylor, and Ed Sheeran, calling them “The A Team.”
Mahone will continue to open for Swift and Sheeran during the rest of the Red Tour.
Mainstream media has finally uncovered the Internet’s dirty secret, fanfiction and it’s pretty sad. It needs to be understood that fanfiction should remain in the fandom world, because once you address actors about fanfiction you are embarrassing the star and the person who wrote it.
Does anyone really want to read about teenage fantasies about themselves and someone else? There’s a feeling that exists between discomfort and flattery that I think stars feel when tehy realize what kind of stories people write about them. The only thing more disturbing about reading or hearing about these stories are when people you know or work closely with read them.
I’m deciding: My ship name is “The I Play A Character On TV & Am A Real Person With A Real Life In Reality.” or “The USS Kitty”.
— Jesse Tyler Ferguson (@jessetyler) February 8, 2013
There’s also something really uncomfortable about watching stars read their own fanfiction. The awkwardness is just overwhelming.
If you need proof, watch YouTube bloggers Tyler Oakley and Marcus Butler re-enact fanfic they found about them. If you must know, their ship name is “Myler.”
At one point Butler just exclaims “This is porn.” Yes. Yes it is. The poor guy will probably never be the same after reading about him doing questionabe things with Tyler Oakley. For some reason, Tyler Oakley doesnt seem as traumatized. Oh, Tyler.
“This is actually really good.” Oh no Tyler. Oh no.
As disturbing as this is, it is hysterical at the same time, especially because neither vloggers can really keep a straight face. Butler at numerous times looks like he wants to cry.
I can hear the sounds of Klaine shippers wishing Chris Colfer and Darren Criss would follow the lead of these two vloggers.
NOW WATCH THESE CELEBRITIES READ FANFIC ABOUT THEM:
Daniel Radcliffe
From Gollum impressions to mash ups, you’d think we’ve seen it all when it comes to music covers.
But lo, this guy proves us wrong as he creates an a cappella cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Wayfaring Stranger.” Unlike other a cappella covers floating around the internet, he uses the iPhone app Voice Jam to layer vocals in real time, as opposed to recording them separately to edit them together later.
It’s a pretty amazing feat. Can’t wait to see his imitators try to top that.
Just when you thought Ed Sheeran couldn’t get any more adorable, he releases a new video for his latest North American single “Lego House” made completely of lego. And the only thing cuter than that is how much he was geeking out about it on Twitter (which is why we love him!)
The stop-motion video released today was animated by Dylan Woodley and completely recreates the original video we all know and love, but with the fitting use of lego. Following a ginger-haired lego Rupert Grint and his whirlwind fanboy love for Sheeran (must be Ed’s dorky personality), this video will have you smiling from ear to ear.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about fandoms since joining Tumblr, it’s that they have quite the… let’s say imagination when it comes to their favourite artists. From One Direction to The Wanted, fanfics are everywhere, but who knew Ed Sheeran fanfics existed?

Via http://motionlmags.tumblr.com/
During a visit to a New Zealand radio show, the hosts introduced our “Ginger Jesus” to the world of fanfiction. Asking him to read a few lines of what he so brilliantly calls “50 Shades of Ging,” (because he’s adorkable like that), he learned what a fan wanted to do for him on his 22nd birthday.
“I will say that is, that is pretty debauched,” he said after his impromptu reading. “but, um, at least it’s encouraging kids to be creative.”
Well, that’s one way to put it.
WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW (STARTS AT THE 9:32 MARK):
When it comes to hip hop covers, often than not you’re left thinking “why would they even attempt covering THAT song!?” But then there are those that cause you to begin dancing around your room with excitement.
But what’s most surprising is when those covers are done by non-hip hop artists. I don’t know if it’s the initial shock of “oh my god, this actually sounds good,” or the weird juxtaposition of when the song is done in another genre entirely. The bottom line, though, is that they’re good and all we want to do is listen to them.
Here are 10 of the best hip hop covers from non-hip hop artists.
Ed Sheeran and Passenger — “No Diggity / Thrift Shop”
A pretty recent cover comes from music’s most soulful ginger, Ed Sheeran, who teamed up with Passenger’s Mike Rosenberg during a recent visit to Australian radio to give us an amazing mash up of Blackstreet’s 90′s hit “No Diggity” and Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop.”
Ed Sheeran — “Empire State of Mind”
Ed Sheeran makes another appearance on this list with his cover of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State” of Mind for BBC Radio 1. Ed can do no wrong, so it’s no surprise that this cover (like everything he does) is nothing short of perfection.

Ed Sheeran—”Pony”
While on a recent visit to Australia’s Fifi & Jules, Ed Sheeran partnered up with Passenger to create this unbelievable mash up of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Macklemore’s “Thrift Shop.”
This is a much watch because it’s is just kind of amazing. Scratch that— it’s really amazing.
March is approaching which means this infernal, unending winter is almost over (I hope). March is also the time when most youths get a week off school and can jet to exotic locals that contain beaches and/or a lot of alcohol. But even if you’re not luckily enough to spend a week getting alcohol poisoning in the sun, you can still have a fun time at home. Fill your bedroom with sand and pretend you’re at the beach, or if your parents/roommates/cats object to that (as I am most certain that they will) turn up this playlist and jam out to these island-ish tunes while you spend every day of your break on Tumblr.
1) Island in the Sun – Weezer
To me, this is the quintessential vacation song. It just conjures images of floating around a pool with sunglasses on, while being fed grapes by some male servants (…or something like that, I definitely haven’t thought about it that much…). It’s also a great uplifting track to make you feel better when it’s March and it seems like the sun may never surface again.
Best for: starting the week, reminding yourself that you’re on vacation.
2) All Eyes on You – St. Luica
You might know this song from a recent series of Victoria’s Secret ads, but it was my official song of Summer 2012 (“I knew it before it was cool,” she said pretentiously). There’s just something so relaxed in the tone of this song, I think it’s perfect for unwinding during your at home vacation. You can bop your head enthusiastically while dancing around your kitchen as you eat Oreos or some similar domestic activity.
Best for: going to the pretty beach in your head
3) Cake – Toro y Moi
For me, vacations from school are doubly relaxing because I get to have the house to myself as everyone else slumps their way to work. I frequently use this alone time to play music obnoxiously loud while dancing/eating/instagramming. Toro y Moi is one of the reigning kings of chillwave and this track off his latest album “Anything In Return” is one of my favourite booty shakers.
Best for: pretending you’re in a Harlem Shake video but with better music.
4) Feel It All Around – Washed Out
You’re going to need some seriously relaxing tunes for this break. After all, you lead a stressful life. I mean, all those books about medieval England didn’t just read themselves this semester did they (full disclosure: I didn’t even read them. LOL)? Dedicate one day of your break to wearing a onesie all day, reading books, and drinking tea and/or the caffeinated beverage of your choosing and play this song while you do it. Whenever I hear this, a movie-like montage runs through my head: sitting on the counter boiling water, scratching a cat’s ears while you read, napping peacefully while your hair fans out like a halo around your head (I may watch too many movies). Feel the relaxation all around.
Best for: being a sluggish as humanly possible.
5) Domino – Jessie J Read more…

Who wouldn’t want a royal gift for the holidays? That’s just what Ed Sheeran got from a well-connected friend! While it wasn’t a romantic sleigh ride with Prince William, the “A-Team” songwriter revealed on Twitter that his present was just as regal.
Now that’s epic. We can’t believe Sealand is a legit country either! What do you think of Ed’s new title?
For singers who are so accustomed to performing live on stage, Ed Sheeran and Harry Styles are pretty terrible at karaoke.
Singing (or shall I say butchering?) a rendition of Elton John and Kiki Dee’s ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ during an aftershow party, the lads’ voices were painfully high-pitched as the rest of One Direction and Taylor Swift danced really badly in the background.
But hey, if the singing thing doesn’t work out in the future (though I highly doubt that), perhaps these two can consider being a comedic duo? I really love their bromance.
Prepare to die of laughter (or screech in pain) here:
Holiday movie marathon

If you’re in college or university, you’re probably finishing up your exams and final assignments. There’s nothing better than not worrying about school work anymore and being able to just flop on the couch to relax. Elf is definitely one of my favourite Christmas movies! Do you guys have an other suggestions? [monstrothewhale]
Time to decorate the tree

Nice to know my family decorated the tree without me this year. Not bitter at all… Anyway, are you the type of person to decorate a fake tree straight out of the box or be extra festive and find the perfect Douglas Fir? [snooowflake]
My Christmas wish came true

*SIGH* If only you could wish for a super cute, soul singing celeb for Christmas. I guess the next best thing is picking up one of their albums, or seeing your faves hanging out together! Siva from The Wanted and Ed Sheeran have played a few Jingle Ball shows together. It’s always nice to see fellow artists supporting each other. [thewantedblog]
Make your holidays stress-free

As we all know, Mean Girls is a classic teen movie, and I’m sure you can learn a few things from it. If you’re involved in any sort of talent show, make sure to have patience. No one wants to fight during the happiest time of the year, right? [pactressia]

You can barely hear them sing over the loud screams of fangirls, but One Direction teamed up with Ed Sheeran to perform the very song he wrote for them, “Little Things.” It all went down last night at NYC’s Madison Square Garden. Sheeran surprised fans midway through 1D’s performance by coming on stage, sitting with the guys and sharing a solo with Harry Styles.
The best part of the video is the reaction from surprised fans. Their screams quickly turns demonic as they start confirming the facts with each other: “That’s him! THAT’S HIM! OMG. NOOOO WAY!!!”
They were probably thinking:

And their excitement came out like this:

That’s how we’re feeling right about now too. What do you think of the performance?

It’s safe to say that Ed Sheeran’s video for “Give Me Love” was bound to spark curiosity and outrageous fangirl fights. After looking through the comments under the video, I realized a few things:
1. People don’t know who Isabel Lucas is.
2. Isabel Lucas is not in fact Lana del Rey.
3. Ed Sheeran is some form of “ginger jesus.”
Despite all the scrambling to figure out who the angel is in the video, the comments do provide a lot of insight. The “Give Me Love” video lead fans to debate the true meaning of the video. Some say it’s about an angel who acts as cupid to help people find love. Others say she’s Natalie Portman’s doppelganger in “Black Swan.” Despite the cringe-worthy scene in which the angel pulls a feather out of her back, Ed Sheeran has helped create a lovely video that sparked discussion on some pretty deep topics.
But enough of the serious stuff. Here are 15 hilarious (and some sweet) comments via the Sheeran fandom.
The final single off Ed Sheeran’s debut album ‘+’ finally has a music video. But before you go and watch it, you better bring some tissues.
Fresh off from penning One Direction’s latest single ‘Little Things’ , “Give Me Love” tells the story of not falling in love, but love lost. Featuring a sad and lonely angel played by Australian actress Isabel Lucas, the video has her playing cupid, shooting arrows at random people to make them fall in love.
While Sheeran doesn’t appear much in the music video, fans will be glad to see him sitting in a cafe drinking coffee as Lucas’ character looks at him sadly. While I’m not entirely sure what all of this means, my guess is that Lucas’ character is in love with the singer but isn’t able to get him.
It’s a dark and artistic video by Sheeran, who’s previously featured Rupert Grint as his impersonator in the music video for ‘Lego House.’ But considering the melancholy tone of the song, I think this piece is lovely yet tragically romantic.

If you can hardly wait for One Direction’s next single ‘Little Things”, perhaps this might satisfy you for the time being.
Providing a sneak preview for what the song will sound like, Ed Sheeran, who wrote the song, revealed some of the details on the “acoustic led” ballad.
“It’s got one of my favorite lines that I’ve ever written in a song,” Sheeran told Capital FM. “Harry says, ‘I know you never like the sound of your voice on tape / And you never like to know how much you weigh / And you still have to squeeze into your jeans / But you’re perfect to me.’”
About an ex-girlfriend, the song was written alongside singer-songwriter Fiona Bevan when Sheeran was 17. Having lost and found the song again, the boys in One Direction loved the song and wanted it to be on their next album.
“It was one of five songs that I gave to them which made the album,” Sheeran continued. “I think they just wanted to try something different. I think they did the same formula with the last single — it sounded like a One Direction song — and now I think they want to switch it up a bit.”
With that in mind, I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS. I know the single is premiering in two days, but the suspense is KILLING me.
Proving once again that he is a genius, Ed Sheeran performed an impromptu song on the spot during a radio stint on the Damien Fahey show. Asked to sing about Fahey, Sheeran created a tune that mentioned poison ivy, Prius cars and even PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’.
But even though Sheeran dubbed his jig “The Terrible Song,” we all know that isn’t true. As random it is, it is baffling to me how GOOD he makes it all sound.
Oh Ed, what a special place you have in my heart. You can sing terrible songs to me any time you want.
Now if only, we can get him to dance Gangnam Style!!

Spoiler!! Katy Perry planned her Halloween costume early this year. The casual purple hoodie comprises the wardrobe element but once she gets a short brown wig, fast food (as a prop) and a wing woman to act as Selena Gomez, it’ll all come together.

See? Take is from Lena Dunham (because she’s a genius) that Justin Bieber isn’t just for young and sprite teen girls (and Katy Perry) who all keep a poster of him on their ceiling. There’s a little Justin Bieber in everyone — even the black-cape-wearing, tattooed, wannabe goth who lives next door.

Ever since we heard Ed Sheeran’s folksly cover of Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” we’ve been dying for him to serenade us with his sweet, sweet voice again. And Ellen always gets the luck, doesn’t she? The ginger-haired singer performed “Grade 8″ on the talk show for a select group of lucky audience members, basically telling each lady in the audience that their body is a ball point pen and their mind is his new best friend. Needless to say, they all went home and broke up with their boyfriends, professing to hunt down Ed Sheeran to MAKE HIM COMMIT.

There’s something different about Snooki in this photo… I guess motherhood means you just don’t have time to put on that extra layer of spider black mascara and giant falsies.
As if you need another reason to LOVE Ed Sheeran, he turned Britney Spears’ pop hit “Baby One More Time” into a folksy, acoustic number and KILLED it. Our favourite ginger covered it on NOW 100.5 FM in Sacramento, California in a navy sweatshirt and denim.
The unexpected arrangement still fits with Ed’s chill aesthetic and I’m pretty sure he made the ladies swoon.
