With the release of Tiger Woods 10 came a cool little feature called EA Sports Live. This feature allows gamers to have the same real time weather conditions as the Pros, while being rated via the leaderboards.
Starting July 16th (today) to July 19th, EA Sports Live has a new tournament underway, EA SPORTS Open featuring the Alisa Championship Course at Turnberry on the three respective platforms – XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii. A winner will be declared from U.S and U.K areas with the chance to win a Tiger Woods Autographed game cover!
Best of luck to everyone participating in the U.S and U.K.
No word on North America wide contest.. guess we Canadians have to sit this one out.
That’s right!

It hasn’t taken long for EA to announce the first batch of DLC for Fight Night Round 4 — and it’s free! There are a couple of items in the pipes. By early August, Fight Night fans can expect a new training gym, new gameplay sliders, and a host of new equipment that can be used for outfitting boxers. And as cross-promotional exclusive, Xbox 360 users will receive an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leornard courtesy of Pizza Hut.
Then by early September, EA will release a controversial update that allows players to use the face buttons to throw punches instead of wielding the analog sticks with Total Punch Control precision. “Among the new content in development, our new button control scheme will give fans a choice for how they want to throw punches in the game,” says Dean Richards, senior producer of EA Sports. “We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4, but we also want fans of the franchise to have an option.”
Fight Night Round 4 was released in North America on June 23, 2009. It is currently available for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
As you are probably aware by now EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 demo is out now on PSN and XBOX Live.
The demo allows players to play two real courses, Bethpage Black and Turnberry, which is where -for those of you obsessed with golf- they will be hosting the 2009 British Open.
The demo allows you to take on the two courses and try out the practice mode if you need to.
A not worthy addition is the challenge mode included in the demo, which takes players to a new course and picks a specific hole with a particular challenge.
The game boasts dynamic weather that will no doubt play a big part of how you take on each course and features updated graphics, rosters, courses, EA Live Tournament, Precision Putting, Tournament Atmosphere and the aforementioned Tournament Challenge Mode.
Naturally I am a bit psyched, especially for the Wii version with its MOTION PLUS GLORY!! It just wouldn’t be summer if there wasn’t a golf game to play.
Today, EA Sports announced the availability of the demo version of the latest addition to their NHL franchise of hockey games. The new NHL 09 demo is now available on the PlayStation Network, and an Xbox Live demo will follow in early September.
The game features the new “Be A Pro” mode that will have players start in the AHL and work their way up into the NHL, with the ultimate goal of becoming an NHL legend. The new Performance Tracker will rate gamers’ skill in over 60 categories to inform them of exactly what parts of their game needs to be improved. NHL 09 will also introduce the online EA Sports Hockey League, where gamers can create a character online and join a team with friends or scout for players. Finally, the game will also feature the new Defensive Skill Stick, that allows players to use an improved poke check, sweep their stick 360 degrees to block passes, and lift an opponent’s stick when playing defense.
NHL 09 will ship to retailers September 9, and will be supported by the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 platforms.
