By now it’s pretty obvious that Alex and Chris love what they do. No matter what situation they’re in, they always find a way to break tension with a joke. Tracking vocals was particularly funny, especially when the guys started experimenting with auto tune and voice effects. In this episode, DVBBS shows us the reason why their music makes people want to party. Essentially, it’s because their carefree attitude translates into their music. They even overcame writer’s block by messing around on a go-kart track. DVBBS yet again demonstrates that if you have fun at your job, you’ll never work a day in your life.

After a long first day in the studio, Alex and Chris decided to continue working late into the night. When they returned with the Qosmio in the morning, the guys showed up with two new beats. It was hard for them to decide which song to choose but following some heated deliberation they decided a competition was the best way to make a decision. In this episode of Track It Yourself, we see how life outside the studio can inspire new music. Chris gets some new ink, Alex shows us his unorthodox methods for writing lyrics and we get to hear what’s starting to sound like a finished song.

In preparation for Toronto’s VELD festival, DVBBS heads to the studio to experiment with some new sounds. The brothers work in sync, building off simple chords until they master a vibe. While Chris pounds out the basic melody on the keyboard, Alex keeps works nearby on the song structure with his guitar. After an intimate performance at the Ottawa Bluesfest, DVBBS heads to Quebec City to open for LMFAO. Alex and Chris feel the pressure of playing to a 100,000 person audience. With their hearts pounding, sweaty palms and Redfoo watching from side stage, the guys know they’ve performing on a whole new level. To celebrate the occasion, Toshiba hooked them up with new laptops that came in handy for a tour of the city. Watch DVBBS step up their game and party-rock in Quebec City.
