Cellphone for a rat

I’m willing to do  some pretty questionable things to get myself a new cellphone, but this is too much. In Johannesburg, South Africa they have a pretty serious rat problem. One charity in the area called Lifeline, has recently tried to help stop the spread of rats by offering cellphones to anyone who brings them at least 60 rats. Just stop and think of how many rats that really is. You have to, I guess, kill them? or maybe just trap that many rats. Then you throw them in your car and bring them to the charity? This sounds like my nightmare. Imagine driving with a giant box of rats riding shotgun…

Woman looses tooth brush in her throat…

This 19-year-old girl was brushing her teeth one day, like normal, when she accidentally swallowed her tooth brush? Seriously? Okay, she had no gag reflex so maybe it’s possible. She said she felt it slipping down her throat, but there was nothing much she could do about it. I’m sorry, umm, if I feel something slipping down my throat I would definitely catch it. How hard are you brushing those pearly whites? Do we really need to add another warning label?

Pregnant zombie arrested for DUI

Police were called to tend to a shooting victim at a busy intersection. Only thing is, when they got there they realized the woman wasn’t the victim of a shooting, but rather wearing a halloween costume. She was dressed up as a pregnant zombie. When police first arrived they admitted they would’ve thought the same thing. Instead of being shot, the woman was intoxicated. Imagine if she was slurring her words too? She would’ve literally sounded like a zombie, terrifying.

Amanda Bynes isn’t even trying to hide the fact that she’s a terrible driver anymore and should probably be taken off the road. She was recently snapped smoking a bong behind the wheel, aimlessly rolling around LA, while on a suspended license.

Along with driving around pointlessly for several hours, she smoked a pipe in the parking lot of Mexican restaurant Baja Fresh in San Fernando Valley and Home Depot, where she picked up multi-colour light bulbs.

According to TMZ, Amanda has been charged with two hit-and-runs and various drivers have complained that she either hit them or created a dangerous situation.

Not only is Amanda endangering other people on the road, she’s setting a terrible example for fans who look up to her. So it’s no question that she should be prosecuted. That said, you can’t vilify the girl considering she probably needs help. She’s spiralling down a bad path and the big question is how do you help her?

TMZ also snapped photos of her car, which looks like it’s a mess.

You have to hand it to the girl for maintaining her sense of humour. Bynes was officially charged yesterday with a DUI after her arrest in April, and since no one is giving her break, she decided to take the pressing matter to the President of the United States.

She’s still maintaining that she doesn’t drink alcohol at all, though she’s been spotted backing into a curb while texting, holding up traffic and sideswiping another vehicle. Though that’s all hearsay by this point because, come on, did you see it with your own eyes?

The actress was arrested in Los Angeles on April 6 on suspicion of DUI and reportedly getting into a minor accident with an officer. The report indicates she was trying to pass a police car as it prepared to make a right turn and collided with the right rear panel.

On May 27 she tweeted: ”I can’t help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false.”

After the official charges were filed yesterday she resorted to her last act of desperation by getting in touch with the White House to sort out this sordid affair. Ironically, Bynes is appearing before the exact same judge (Elden Fox) steered Lindsay Lohan through to the end of her probation.

Not long after it was announced that Lindsay Lohan will host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, there are reports that she’ll play classy dame Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime movie.

“Liz and Dick” will focus on Taylor’s up and down marriages to actor Richard Burton. I wasn’t sure what to think of the project at first but if it’s done properly it could be the probation diva’s comeback role. The 25-year-old is a fine actress, it’s just her private life and brief jail stints that have caused colleagues to call her unprofessional.

As always, there’s a catch. Access Hollywood reports she’ll only be allowed to take part in the movie if she obeys the judge’s orders relating to her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence.

Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso was arrested in Burbank, California yesterday after failing a sobriety test and blowing over the legal limit.

According to TMZ, Musso, 20, was driving a black Mercedes that raised suspicion to cops because it apparently reaked of booze.

My first suggestion for Mitchel would normally be to find a good lawyer. However, he would be better served applying for the witness protection program. When Disney’s people get ahold of him it’ll be far worse than anything a judge could hand out.

Everyone knows there’s two ways to end your career in Hollywood: by acting in anything involving Mel Gibson OR by do anything to tarnish Mickey Mouse’s reputation. If I was Mr. Musso I would lay low for a little while and hope the people at Disney are too busy worrying about Trase Cyrus’ big fat teen shotgun wedding.

Remember Disney’s girl band KSM? Well the lead singer, Shelby Cobra, was busted for DUI. And to make matters worse, she’s only 18.

TMZ reports cops spotted Shelby driving a F-150 in Studio City early Friday morning. The dome light was on, and her passenger was sitting sideways in the seat.

Police pulled her over and smelt alcohol on her breath. They administered the proper tests. and Shelby blew a 0.15% and was arrested and booked.

KSM broke up in 2010.

Christina Aguilera is the top paid judge of ‘The Voice,’ reports CTV.

The singer reportedly earns $225,000 per episode, compared to the $75,000 that Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton make.

That means that NBC is spending $450,000 on the judges alone, not including production or advertising costs. A little crazy, if you ask me!

The show has been a big success, though, pulling in over 10 million viewers per episode. I’m sure they are making the money back somewhere.

The winner of the show will get a $100,000 recording contact.

This proves my theory that being a reality singing show judge is the best thing you can do for your career. I mean, nobody remembers Aguilera flubbing the national anthem or getting a DUI – they all see her as a rich, successful TV judge now. Smart move.

Flo Rida has been busted for a DUI, reports TMZ.

While the rapper was cruising around in his red and black 2008 Bugatti, which is valued at around $1.7 million, police noticed the car was swerving and pulled him over near Miami Beach.

At around 3:30 a.m., police then detected the smell of alcohol on the ‘Low’ singer and made him take a sobriety test. His blood alcohol level was .185, which is more than twice the legal limit.

What’s even more annoying is a large crowd had gathered around the car, begging officers to let the rapper go and offering to drive him home. Boy, those are dedicated fans.

Flo Rida apparently said to the cop: “Officer I can’t do this. I don’t feel I can’t walk a straight line. I had a few drinks. Let’s try another test.”

He was then arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to a nearby station, where he is currently being booked.

“Let’s try another test” gets me every time. I mean, how stupid can you be. And why would you risk damaging your $1.7 million car by swerving all over the road? Are you insane? He deserves to be behind bars!

Estella Warren has been arrested for a DUI, hit and run, assault, and escape, reports E Online.

The model and ‘Planet of the Apes’ star landed herself in jail after allegedly smashing into three cars in Los Angeles on Monday. Warren then drove away from the scene, was nailed by cops and ultimately arrested for DUI. But then it gets worse.

Warren, who was driving her Toyota Prius when the incident happened, then resisted arrest and kicked a cop. After trying to flee from the scene, police caught up with her and cuffed and hauled her off to the station. She failed a field-sobriety test just past midnight (obviously.)

But the sad saga continues.

When Warren was being booked, she managed to slip her skinny model wrists out of her handcuffs and bolted for the back door of the station, where she tried to escape yet again.

The ‘Sports Illustrated’ model was quickly caught (again) and was booked on an additional charge of felony escape. Which brought her rap sheet total up to four for the night.

Incidentally, while Warren has publicly cited her age as 32, her booking report lists her as 40. Maybe that’s why she was so desperate to flee – she didn’t want her real age to be revealed. Her bail has been set at $100,000.

This is such a crazy story, I love for things like this. She gave a good fight, but in the end, she’s going to have to pay big time. Good efforts, though.

Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to undergo psychological counselling, reports CTV.

The troubled actress has also been sentenced to three years probation, attend The Shoplifter’s Alternative program, pay fines of $180 and stay away from jeweller Kanofie and Co. after pleading no contest to stealing a necklace from the store.

Lohan didn’t appear in court this morning for the sentencing.

Last month, Lohan was deemed to have breached the terms of her 2007 probation, which was set following a driving under the influence conviction, because of the theft charges. She was sentenced to 480 hours of community service and 120 days jail, for which she must turn herself in on June 17.

The 24-year-old star, who began her community service last week, has made an application to serve the jail term under house arrest, a move which is expected to be approved.

“I’ve made a lot of poor decisions in the past and I’m dealing with the consequences of those decisions, so there were times when I was concerned but I’m a fighter and I know that I have a lot of work to do to gain the respect back and I’m willing to do the work that I have to do to be an actress,” said Lohan in an interview.

Hopefully this is the last time she goes through this. She got really lucky this time around, and I’m rooting for her to finally, finally, get back on track.

Rocker Rick Springfield has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, TMZ reports.

The 80s rockstar, who was arrested last night in Los Angeles, reportedly performed poorly on sobriety tests after being pulled over by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department around 8:00 p.m. for a traffic violation.

The 61-year-old singer was then arrested on suspicion of DUI, after the officers noticed the smell of alcohol. Law enforcement sources say Springfield’s blood alcohol level was measured at 0.10 and 0.08, the legal limit being 0.08 in California.

Springfield was taken to a nearby jail, where he was booked then released on his own recognizance.

Another rockstar, another DUI. It’s not known whether or not he has a drinking problem, but driving under the influence is simply inexcusable. Hopefully this is a good wake up call for him.

Lindsay Lohan’s train wreck of a life has been turned into an off-broadway play, reports Playbill. Flattering, or embarrassing? We’re not sure which of these it is.

Just weeks after Lindsay Lohan completed her court-ordered rehab stay for a DUI case, she has allegedly stole a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie and Company, a jewelry store in Venice, California on January 22.

Lohan claims that she thought she was given permission to borrow the jewelry. Following the incident Lohan was given $40,000 bail for the theft charge and allegedly violating her probation in the DUI case. People.com reports that Lohan pleaded not guilty to the felony charge in court yesterday. No rulings have been revealed but the judge on the case was extremely stern with Lohan. Lohan is reportedly striving for a plea bargain. The next hearing isn’t until February 23.

In other news, TMZ.com reports that Lohan already had a similar mishap occur at the jewelry store just four days before the necklace incident. Lohan reportedly forgot to remove one of the earrings she was trying on at the store and attempted to walk out. The store clerk stopped Lohan and let her know she was still wearing the other earring. Apparently Lohan laughed it off and went on her way.

Lohan has been up to her ears in trouble this past year. Would she go out of her way to cause more trouble for herself and steal a $2,500 necklace? It seems bizarre.

Jaime Pressly, the actress, model and one of the stars of NBC’s My Name is Earl, has filed for a divorce from her husband Simran Singh, E Online is reporting.

According to the forms filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, the separation was requested Dec. 27th of 2010. Relatively speaking, Pressly has managed to let this slip through the cracks from media exposure for quite a while. So, look on the bright side Jaime!

Then again, this has been a horrid year for the bubbly blonde. News of her separation comes shortly after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI, as well as also facing charges for tax evasion from the state of California. OK, so maybe that side isn’t so bright either.

Regardless, we wish the talented star luck in getting back on track. HBO’s Entourage would not be the same without her cameos.

Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil has plead guilty to DUI in Las Vegas, reports TMZ. It’s also very likely he will spend two weeks in jail.

Neil was pulled over by police in June. Officers found his blood alcohol level to be three times the legal limit. Neil’s plea deal includes 15 days in the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, followed by 15 days of house arrest.

It will be interesting to see how he will do in jail.

2011 isn’t getting off to a great start for Jaime Pressly. First there was the DUI charge on January 5th, and now the actress is accused of owing a ton of money in back taxes.

The Detroit News is reporting that Pressly owes just over $637,000 in Federal and state taxes. It breaks down like this:

- The IRS filed a $260,370 tax lien against her on December 6.

- A $281,699 lien was filed against her September 8 by the IRS, which was for 2008 income taxes.

- And also the State of California filed a lien in the amount of $95,080 on June 21st.

Here’s the good news. RadarOnline reports that Pressly’s husband is a high profile attorney. So here’s hoping he can pull some strings to save the day.

Judson Birza, the winner of Survivor season 21 which took place in Nicaragua, was arrested yesterday Wednesday due to his strange behavior that led authorities to believe that he was under the influence of a controlled substance.

TMZ reports that Birza was riding his skateboard around in the street, which is illegal, with prompted the police to approach him. The authorities claim that Birza was acting very unusual which was most likely due to some sort of drug. He was then arrested and thrown in jail. His mugshot is pretty entertaining, he looks quite pleasant with that huge grin (probably still high).

Additionally, Birza booked for a separate DUI warrant and a probation violation. He’s currently being held on $37,000 bail. That’s a large sum for the Survivor.

Hopefully he’ll come out on top of this one too…

“My Name is Earl” star, Jaime Pressly was pulled over last night for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

As reported by TMZ.com, the celebrity was pulled over at around 11pm in Santa Monica, California after she allegedly committed a traffic violation. Pressly has to do some voluntary road side sobriety tests, which she failed. She was then immediately arrested and and booked on suspicion of DUI. She was taken to the jail in Santa Monica.

So now Jaime Pressly has been added to the list of celebrity DUIs. I wonder how her mug shot looks? Hopefully better than Nick Nolte’s.

After 90 days in the Betty Ford Center, Lindsay Lohan is finally free once more!

Popeater is reporting that Lindsay’s parents, Dina and Michael Lohan, are incredibly proud of their daughter and firmly believe that she has taken huge steps toward getting fully healthy once more.

“She’s just a different person,” Dina explained in an interview with Matt Lauer. “Shes been in a couple facilities, but this one, to me, has really changed her.”

In a separate interview with the Early Show, Michael echoed Dina’s sentiments. “She has taken the right steps and put the right people back into her life,” he gushed.

Lindsay’s parents have had a history of public feuding, especially over what is best for Lindsay, so it’s nice to see them agree about something for once!

Lohan is expected to stay in LA to work on her clothing line rather than return to her Long Island home. She has no upcoming film projects after dropping out of what was supposed to be her comeback vehicle, a Linda Lovelace biopic titled “Inferno”, due to her time in jail and rehab.

Keep up the good work, Lindsay! You can get better! We believe in you!

The results of Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil’s sobriety tests from his DUI back in June have finally been released, and boy, it’s a doozy.

Perez Hilton has reported that Neil blew over three times the legal limit this spring, failing several field sobriety tests with multiple attempts. The 80s star put in a good effort but eventually told police “I can’t do this.”

Well, at least he’s an honest guy!

Aside from failing the traditional breathalyzer test, the report also comments that the rocker “reeked” of alcohol, and that Neil confessed to consuming 3 glasses of champagne.

Neil’s DUI doesn’t come as a surprise to us, especially with his criminal past. We caught a glimpse of the star’s Wild Side when he was caught Smoking in the Boy’s Room back in 1985.

Heh. But seriously: 3 TIMES the legal limit, Mr. Neil? That must have been some really strong champagne.

Vince Neil will be arraigned on September 27th. Hopefully he’ll have sobered up by then.
