Singer/actress Hilary Duff may have something to sing about.
According to E! News, Duff was spotted leaving her home with a ring on her wedding finger causing onlookers to speculate whether the star might be engaged.
The so-called engagement band, however, could also be an early birthday gift from Comrie, who is an heir to Canada’s “The Brick” furniture empire. Comrie is known for his lavish gifts after giving Duff a $100,000 Mercedes for her 20th birthday last year.
Duff has been dating pro-hockey player Mike Comrie for one year. Duff’s rep is neither confirming nor denying the engagement rumours.
Duff celebrates her 21st birthday September 28th.
HILARY DUFF has laughed off rumours two songs on her new album are about NICOLE RICHIE, who is dating Duff’s ex boyfriend JOEL MADDEN.
The teen star insists she has no bitterness towards Richie – and that the songs are actually about her mother and father.
Duff says, “I’ve read that GYPSY WOMAN and STRANGER are about Nicole but they’re not – they are about my parents.
“I want Joel to be happy, and if she makes him happy…
“Obviously he’s going to find someone else, like I’m going to do.”

HILARY DUFF has hit out at the media’s obsession with stars’ weight, confessing she slimmed down after she was dubbed “fat” by a tabloid.
The 19-year-old provoked alarm when her weight dramatically dropped – and she blames pressure from the press.
Duff says, “I did get skinny. When I read ‘Duff Puff – she’s gained 15 pounds’, how would any normal person react?”

Manhattan Beach police officials confirmed Monday that Russian National Maksim Myaskovskiy, 18, was arrested Friday for suspicion of making criminal threats against Duff.
Myaskovskiy allegedly travelled to Los Angeles to pursue a romantic relationship with the young singer/actress.
Court documents indicate the Russian immigrant attempted to make contact with Duff by visiting her mother’s home and the neighborhood of her boyfriend, Joel Madden, the lead singer of the band Good Charlotte.
The documents also say Myaskovskiy said, he wants to “remove enemies” that might stand in his way, namely her boyfriend, Madden.
A hearing date for the restraining order is scheduled for Nov. 15.
Elle Magazine had Hilary Duff grace the June cover with headline news that she was going to remain a virgin until marriage. However in a recent interview at Muchmusic, Duff claimed that she never said that.
Elle Magazine quoted Duff as saying, “It’s harder having a boyfriend who’s older because people just assume. But (virginity) is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn’t mean I haven’t thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in,” reports hollywood.com.
Duff, 18, who is currently dating singer Joel Madden, denies she told Elle’s reporter personal information regarding her virginity and is appalled by the false story.
On her recent trip to Toronto, Duff visited the Muchmusic headquarters and cleared up the Elle article.
“The thing is that I didn’t say that. I wouldn’t say that. I don’t know how [the writer] got that out of what I said.” Duff went on to say that the subject is “definitely not something that I would talk about or that I would want people to focus on. Or that I even think it’s appropriate to talk about. Whose business is that?”
It looks like Material Girls is going to be released after all.
Last week, Lukas Haas said that the Hilary and Haylie Duff film Material Girls was not going to be released because it could not find a distributor.
But according to boxofficemojo.com, the movie has found a distributor in MGM and will be released August 25.
Haas, one of the stars of Material Girls, had said that he doubted the movie would ever be released.
What was to be Hilary Duff’s next movie may never be released.
According to Lukas Haas, who appears in the as-of-yet unreleased Duff film “Material Girls,” the film has been looking for a distributor but has not been successful.
Haas, who plays Henry in the movie, said he doesn’t expect the movie to ever be released.
“Material Girls” is the first on-screen collaboration between Hilary and her sister, Haylie.
The Duffs play two wealthy sisters, both heiresses to their family’s cosmetics fortune, who lose the money and then fight to get it back.
Hilary recorded a cover of Madonna’s “Material Girl” for the movie with Lil’ Jon providing the beats. Like the movie, the song may also never be released.
Material Girls began shooting last April. Hilary’s next film is the cartoon “Foodfight,” which also features her sister Haylie. “Foodfight” is set for release in March 2007.
Even though she had only released two albums prior to her greatest hits album coming out two weeks ago, Hilary Duff sold the most albums in the country again this week.
Duff’s “Most Wanted” moved about 100,000 copies, about half as many as last week, but in a slow week at the charts, it was enough to top Billboard.
“Now That’s What I Call Music” volume 19 sold about 5000 less copies than Duff’s album, to come in second.
Rounding out the top 5: Mariah Carey’s “The Emancipation of Mimi,” Black Eyed Peas’ “Monkey Business,” and “Harlem: Diary of a Summer,” from Jim Jones of the Diplomats.
Next week’s chart will have much more action, with huge releases coming from Tony Yayo and of course Kanye West, who could sell over 500,000 copies.
Two former Guns N’ Roses members are suing Axl Rose for the second time in as many years.
Slash and Duff, also known as Saul Hudson and Michael McKagan, say band leader Rose named himself sole administrator of the band’s copyrights, jilting his former band mates out of $500,000 a year.
The complaint was filed on August 17 at a federal court in Los Angeles. It claims Rose is “suffering an apparent attack of arrogance and ego” and says “he is no longer willing to acknowledge the contributions of his former partners and band mates in having created some of rock’s greatest hits.”
Rose?s attorney, Howard Weitzman, says the singer has asked to receive only his share of royalties and that the overpayment was due to a clerical error. He said Rose had returned the extra funds to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
Guns N’ Roses recorded such songs as “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine.”
Last year, Hudson and McKagan filed a suit alleging Rose had wrongly claimed ownership of the group?s assets after he left in 1995. The case is pending.
Rose is the only group member who is still allowed to perform under the Guns N’ Roses name. Hudson and McKagan are now members of rock group Velvet Revolver.
