Joe Jackson Sues Dr. Conrad Murray and Clinics

Posted by Jacob Morris on June 26th, 2010

Joe Jackson is going after more than just Dr. Conrad Murray in his wrongful death lawsuit, which TMZ obtained a copy of.

The lawsuit reads that, “Mr. Jackson believes there are other parties responsible for Michael Jackson’s death but has not yet gathered sufficient information regarding their potential liability or responsibility.”

TMZ reports that the lawsuit also names Murray’s Houston clinic, Acres Home Heart & Vascular Associates, and his Las Vegas clinic, GCA Holdings. The suit reads, “Defendants conduct of attempting to conceal the multi-state supply of drugs and the use of their facilities in Texas and Nevada to obtain medications was an extreme departure from the standard of care.”

Joe Jackson also alleges that Dr. Murray withheld vital information that could have saved the king of pop, not letting EMTs know about the Propofol that he had given to Michael Jackson.

The lawsuit, which will be filed in a federal court on Friday, also states that Dr. Murray attempted to “clean-up the scene.”

This all comes on the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death.

Posted by Jacob Morris on June 12th, 2010

Dr. Conrad Murray is getting a little love thrown his way, reports TMZ.  The doctor, who is accused of killing Michael Jackson is scheduled to appear at a hearing in L.A. in order to have a date set for a preliminary hearing.

Pastors from the Houston area (where Murray does charity medical work) are organizing a rally in support of the doctor.  The rally will be held at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, located in a poor region of Houston.

TMZ says that United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee will be there, along with what could be around 1,000 people there to support Dr. Murray.

The original plan was to bus people to L.A. in order to counter protests by MJ fans.

Randy Jackson Upset With Court Treatment At Doctor Murray Hearing

Posted by Jeremy Singer on April 5th, 2010

Part of the Jackson family was present at the Los Angeles Superior Court in downtown LA today for  Dr. Conrad Murray’s hearing over his plead of not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter related to the death of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson.

But as they endured the almost two-hour hearing, younger brother Randy Jackson was a bit upset with the way the Jackson family was treated in the court room.

According to Access Hollywood, Jackson was rattled by the fact that the press recieved better treatment over the Jackson family members that were present- including Katherine, Joe, Jermaine, Janet and himself.

“Inside the courtroom,” he tweeted. “The press is getting preferential treatment and seating over us. They seem to have forgotten that we are a family.”

Michael Jackson’s Death Might Be a Cover-Up

Posted by Sam Rashid on March 1st, 2010

Michael Jackson’s personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, administered the fatal dose of Propofol to Michael Jackson through an IV leading to his leg, and this may be a cover-up, according to TMZ.

Dr. Murray claimed that he only administered 2.5ml of Propofol to Jackson before he died, which is a very small amount.  But Dr. John Dombrowski, a well known anaesthesiologist and board member of the American Society of Anaesthesiologists, received the LAPD file for detectives and told that 2.5ml couldn’t even put Jackson to sleep, never mind killing him.  However, the level of Propofol found in Jackson’s body was equivalent to amount one would have during general anaesthesia for major surgery.

In Jackson’s room, a 20ml bottle of Propofol was found along with numerous empty bottles stored secretly in a compartment of the closet.  Among the bottles, an empty 100ml bottle was found with a large tear in the rubber stopper.

Michael Jackson’s Doctor Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter

Posted by Sara Harowitz on February 9th, 2010

Almost eight months after the death of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, the artist’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reports rollingstone.com.

The charge, issued by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, is based on Murray’s role in Jackson’s sudden death due to “acute Propofol intoxication” on June 25, 2009. In a press release, the D.A.’s office says that Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson … in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.” If he is found guilty, Murray will face up to four years in prison.

Further Information About Michael Jackson’s Homicide

Posted by Emma Renda on August 31st, 2009

michael-jackson-thrillerMichael Jackson’s death was officially ruled a homicide by the L.A. County Coroner, according to TMZ.com.

The cause of death was said to be acute Propofol intoxication. While Propofol and Lorazepam (Ativan) were said to be the cause of Jackson’s death, a host of other drugs were found in Jackson’s system including Midazolam (Versed), Diazepam (Valium), Lidocaine (topical anesthetic) and Ephedrine (used to treat hypotension associated with anesthesia), as listed on TMZ.

Although Jackson’s death has been ruled a homicide at the hands of his doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, it does not necessarily mean criminal charges. Murray is the target of a manslaughter investigation, according to the Los Angeles Times, but Jackson’s history of drug dependency will factor largely into any criminal trial.
