Ivanka Trump Ties the Knot

Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, married businessman Jared Kushner Sunday in Bedminster, NJ, reports Perez Hilton. The bride wore a Grace Kelly-inspired gown by Vera Wang.

Among the 500 guests at the ceremony, performed by Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, were Barbara Walters, Rudy Guiliani, Emmy Rossum and Adam Duritz.

A second reception is planned for Wednesday at the Puck Building in Manhattan, NY. The couple will then head to Africa for their honeymoon.

Oscar-winning actress Tilda Swinton recently signed an anti-Trump petition after accusing Donald Trump of coercing Scottish residents. Trump is ploughing the way for a brand new golf course developed by the Trump Organization.

Since getting permission to go ahead with the course’s construction in 2008, Trump has been scrutinized by local residents, environmentalists and now British-born Swinton.

The golf course will be yet another symbol of Trump’s international vanity, and a stand from Swinton my instil hope that he isn’t infallible.

Stargate Universe Takes An Edgier Turn With Louis Ferreira As Its Colonel

Louis Ferreira and I share more than one thing in common: we both speak Portuguese aside from English and both of us were not Sci-Fi kind of guys before Stargate Universe — the latest entity in the space-themed franchise, which premiers today at 9 p.m. exclusively on Space.

Ferreira’s resume includes an impressive amount of TV and film work. His characters range from The Donald himself in a Trump TV-movie, to lead roles in shows like “Trinity” and “Missing,” guest spots on “24” and “CSI Miami,” among tens of other TV series and films, including a a role in this year’s “Grey Gardens” with Drew Barrymore. Still, Sci-Fi remained unexplored territory for the actor (aside from a very short stint on “Star Trek”).

So how did he wind up on one of the most successful Sci-Fi franchises of all time? It’s actually quite a serendipitous story which Fereira (formerly known as Justin Louis) shared with andPOP.

Side story: when the Portuguese-born, Toronto-raised actor kicked off his career in the late ‘80s, early ‘90s, Vancouver was a booming destination for film productions so he’d go there whenever work would dry up in Toronto. “I remember being in my twenties and being like, ‘If I could have the ultimate lifestyle, it would be the farm in Toronto, the apartment in New York’ and I said, ‘a boat!’ If you could live on a boat like “Miami Vice” you would want to do it in Vancouver,” shared the Gemini winner.

Fast forward a decade and Ferreira got himself an audition for the part of Colonel Everett Young in a new ‘Stargate’ series, but he wasn’t too sure if it was a role he’d want to take on. “I was like ‘Sci-Fi: I don’t know enough about it,’ and I operate in a very strange way in that I sometimes ask the universe for signs. Like, ‘am I supposed to do this?’ It’s a strange thing that I ask,” he admits.

Ferreira remembered his adolescent dream of owning a boat in Vancouver and put it out there, asking for a sign. Sure enough, days before his test, an old boat attached to a trailer showed up right in front of his house. He then said if the boat would stay there until his audition, that meant he should take part in the show. “The boat stayed there for not only the test, it stayed there for another month,” he said with awe. “I had no idea what happened, someone just dropped off this old boat in front of my house.”

Ironically enough, “Stargate: Universe” is filmed in Vancouver. Aside from that, there were two other factors that drew Ferreira into the project; one was that he admired the creators Brad Wright and Robert Cooper and the fact that “Universe” is quite different from previous “Stargates” according to Ferreira, who says the new series is much darker and edgier. The other reason is that Emmy nominee Robert Carlyle was involved.

“I saw Robert Carlyle’s name attached to the project and I was like ‘oh boy, that’s an actor, he’s my kind of actor.’ Personally, I was like ‘I’m a big fan of his work’ and so those two things for me were the reason I was drawn to it,” said Ferreira.

He added that this time around, “Stargate” is much more grittier, realistic and ultimately “good drama that’s set against the sort of Sci-Fi backdrop.” “It seems to be the right sort of evolution if I could use that word for the franchise, and I think that it bridges the gap nicely,” he said. “I think there’s something there for all the old ‘Stargate’ fans…and then hopefully what it can do is bring all kinds of new viewers as well who might watch the ‘Houses’ or the ‘Fringes.’ ”

It’s worth noting that the effects in this one are fantastic. Ferreira revealed that the special effect guys behind “District 9” are involved in the series as well. He plays Colonel Everett Young, one of the lead roles in the new series.

“We start with Young on a sort of leading base but the bigger picture is that he’s made that decision that his relationship with his wife is sort of in jeopardy, and that’s where his heart is right now,” said Ferreira. “He doesn’t want to lose his wife and he knows he’s in trouble so his whole thing is to finish this last mission and get back home. So when this mishap, we’ll call it happens, the demons that are in there become part of it.”

The actor is still filming “Universe” through October and after that he plans on “sleeping.” “I really don’t have any plans but to just sort of love my family and then see what happens next.”

“Stargate Universe” airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on Space and today you can also catch Ferreira on the new Space show “InnerSpace” where he’ll be talking about the series.

Trump Fires Carrie Prejean

Carrie Prejean, the former Miss California who made headlines for opposing same-sex marriage, has been forced to leave her post by Donald Trump.

“I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so,” Trump said in a statement. “Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen.

“Carrie is a beautiful young woman and I wish her well as she pursues her other interests.”

Now that Prejean has been terminated from her position as Miss California, Shanna Moakler is reconsidering her pageant director position.

“First and foremost, my faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with Donald Trump, “ Moakler said in a statement.” I believed eventually what I intimately knew would come to fruition”.

Keith Lewis, Executive director of K2 Productions — which produces the pageant — says Prejean has been terminated from her Miss California position “based solely on contract violations.”

Christina Aguilera to Sing for Trump

Christina Aguilera, “Dirty” diva and recent mom, has been hired by Donald Trump to perform at a party for the opening of his new hotel in Dubai, Trump International Hotel & Tower.

Aguilera will perform for the Donald at a private estate in Los Angeles. Pete Wentz, soon-to-be-dad, is also set to DJ for the night.

This will mark the second time Aguilera has performed since giving birth to her son, Max, in January. Most recently, Aguilera has been in the studio working on a new album and shot a P.S.A. with her newborn son for the Rock the Vote campaign.

Andy Dick Forcibly Removed From US Talk Show

Comedian ANDY DICK was forcibly removed by security during an appearance on US talk show JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE Friday night, after repeatedly touching guest IVANKA TRUMP without her permission.

Trump, the daughter of real estate mogul DONALD TRUMP, was attempting to promote her reality show THE APPRENTICE, when Dick kept interrupting her with rude comments.

The troubled comedian repeatedly rubbed Trump’s legs and touched her hair, while Kimmel begged him to behave himself.

When Dick asked Trump to “give him a big, fat, sloppy wet kiss right on the lips” and grabbed her arm, Kimmel called in two security guards.

The talk show host carried Dick’s feet and helped the guards drag him out of the studio.

Trump was a good sport after the incident telling Kimmel, “That was brilliant. See, that was a much more entertaining segment.

“I could sit here and talk to you about the buildings I’m building in Chicago and Las Vegas, but I’m sure you’d much prefer to see Andy Dick actually forcefully removed from a stage.”

Donald Trump Files $10M Lawsuit

He said he’d do it and he did it – the Donald is suing.

Although it’s not his latest target, Rosie O’Donnell Donald Trump is suing, it’s his last one, the city of Palm Beach in Florida.

E! Online is reporting that the Donald has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city, who ordered him to take down his American Flag in October. Trump is claiming the city is violating his right to free speech.

City officials ordered Trump to take down his flag, saying he needed a building permit because the flag was over the city’s limits. Trump claims the city has unfairly targeted him, while allowing other citizens to raise similar flags. The lawsuit was filed last Thursday.

Trump is also looking for lawyer’s fees to be covered and says he will donate any money he wins to veterans who return home from Iraq.

Miss USA to Keep Crown: Trump

The Miss USA who has been more misbehaviour lately, will be allowed to keep her crown for the rest of her term.

E! Online reports that despite the allegations of hard partying, canceled photo ops and all-around bad role modeling, Tara Conner will keep her crown, this coming from the mouth of Donald Trump.

“I’ve always been a believer in second chances,” Trump, who owns both the Miss USA and the Miss. Universe Pageants, said at a press conference.

He also would not entertain any questions about the reported de-crowning of Conner, only saying he made a last minute ruling on whether or not she keeps the crown because she is a “good person.”

He also noted that she will be checking into rehab (though he did not disclose which one), and that her duties will be smaller while she “receives the help she needs during this personal time.”

The Donald Not Pleased with Angelina

While he may praise Brad Pitt, Donald Trump had some harsh words for Angelina Jolie.

Hollywood.com reports that the businessman “blasted” Jolie for being estranged from her father, actor Jon Voight, saying that she “treats him like a dog” and should allow him to see his grand children on Larry King Live.

“I know her father. Her father is a nice guy. I think she treats him like a dog but maybe they have some kind of a thing.

“I mean this poor sap, he comes along and he practically begs her, ‘I want to see my grandson (Maddox). I want to see this.’ I mean, if I were with him, I’d say, ‘Forget it. It’s over.’

“She just treats him terribly. She’s been with so many guys she makes me look like a baby… And I just don’t even find her attractive. That has nothing to do with why I said it, though.”

However, the Donald had a turnaround on another celeb he recently criticized – K. Fed.

“I heard the other day that his all-time hero is Donald Trump. You know when somebody likes you, you say, ‘Hey.’ So, I totally changed my mind. I think Kevin Federline is fantastic.”

The Donald Applauds Pitt

Donald Trump applauds Brad Pitt’s public statement that he will not marry Angelina Jolie until same sex marriage is legal in the United States, Life Style Extra reports.

The Donald calls it an “excellent” way for Pitt to remain a bachelor and still enjoy the perks of being in a relationship.

“It makes him look really concerned about the plight of other people. Yet at the same time, he doesn’t have to get married. This guy is smarter than I thought,” Trump wrote on his blog.

Trump also has advice for other celebrities marriages. He recommends Paris Hilton get a pre-nup should she ever wed, and has admitted he is “worried” about Britney Spears.
