Dog The Bounty Hunter Returning to A&E

Dog The Bounty Hunter will be returning back to TV. A&E executives announced Wednesday that shooting for the shows fifth season has already begun.

The show was pulled off the air last year in its fourth season when a recording was released of bounty hunter, Duane “Dog” Chapman using racial slurs to describe his son’s African-American girlfriend.

Chapman says he has received counseling and was ashamed of his remarks.

A&E spokesman Michael Feeney said, “We know his heart. We know him and know he’s not a racist.”

A&E also cites viewer demand as another reason for the shows return.

Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Racist Comments Get Show Yanked

Duane “Dog” Chapman is probably regretting those racially charged comments. The A&E star’s harsh words have resulted in his show being pulled from the airwaves.

A tape of a call between Chapman and his son Tucker that shows the TV star used the N-word repeatedly surfaced on the National Enquirer’s Web site.

“Dog the Bounty Hunter”, A&E’s top-rated show, has been yanked from its programming schedule indefinitely. Although it has not been officially canceled, at least two advertisers have pulled away from the show.

It has been reported that Duane “Dog” Chapman’s lawyer Brook Hart confirmed Tucker had taped the call and sold it to the tabloid for “a lot of money.”

Dog the Bounty Hunter Working to Avoid Jail

Duane Chapman, best known as the star of A&E’s “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” is working on an agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office that would keep him out of jail, south of the U.S. border.

Chapman is facing extradition to Mexico for wrongfully arresting a fugitive rapist, Max Factor heir Andrew Luster. The 2003 arrest allegedly violated Mexico’s anti-bounty-hunting laws.

Along with his son Leland, 29, and unrelated partney Timothy Chapman, 41, the 53-year-old Dog faces charges of illegal detention and conspiracy. The three were arrested on September 14 by U.S. marshals, but were released on $300,000 U.S. bail after spending the night in prison.

According to Chapman’s attorney, Brook Hart, the TV star is offering to make a public apology, pay a sizeable fine and make a large charitable donation to clear his name.

Hart says that Chapman and co. chased down Luster in Mexico after receiving “flawed legal advice.”

Luster was returned to California and is currently serving a 124-year jail sentence for sexually assaulting three women.

Dog the Bounty Hunter Sued

Duane “Dog” Chapman is being sued, E! Online reports.

The bounty hunter, who has his own reality show on A & E, is being sued by Simaile “Cisco” Lutu, who is also suing Chapman’s bail bond business, the cable net and local police.

The California man claims he was mishandled by Chapman’s bounty hunting team last May, when Lulu was mistook for being Samu Savea. Lutu claims he was mishandled, when Chapman realized the mistake, he let Lutu go.

The next day however, the Daly City police descended on Lutu, arresting him at gun point. He was released, but was arrested again by the local police the following day.

“This is reality TV run amok. There’s got to be a bright line between television entertainment on one hand and real police work on the other,” Lutu’s attorney, Jim Hammer, said to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Chapman told the Chronicle he had no idea Lutu was this upset about the mistaken identity.

“Cisco called me right after the show and said, ‘Thanks, Dog, all the girls love me now.” Brother, I haven’t heard anything that he’s upset.”

Lutu is seeking unspecified damages.
