FBI Arrests DMX

Rapper DMX is currently in jail until he goes before a judge today (December 10). According to MTV News, a $5000 reward was offered for the rapper’s capture.

DMX was arrested on a warrant after he failed to appear in court last Friday.

Attorney Bradford Cohen explained to MTV News what happened, “A call went out earlier this morning in regards to his location, and the regular police went out to that location, which was a recovery clinic, but because of health care laws, the clinic wouldn’t confirm whether he was there.”

DMX was then apprehended by the FBI at a Palm Island mansion according to MTV News.

The American rapper was due in court last week for a status hearing on charges of drug possession, identity theft and animal cruelty.

Rough Week for Ruff Ryder

DMX, a.k.a. Earl Simmons, was hospitalized on Tuesday and issued with an arrest warrant.

The rapping Ruff Ryder missed a court date in Phoenix, AZ because of his hospitalization. However, the judge said the documentation of his hospitalization was insufficient and issued the arrest warrant.

It is unclear why DMX was hospitalized. DMX was arrested twice in June for driving without a valid driver’s license and attempting to buy cocaine and marijuana from undercover police.

“We are in court again next week on other matters, and my hope is we can get the warrant resolved by then and get back on track. We have some things in the works to get the warrant taken care of. My hope is that we can resolve it without an arrest,” Charles Kozelka, a public defender representing DMX told MTV News.

DMX Gets Arrested for the Millionth Time, Or So It Seems

DMX must really love spending time behind bars.

The troubled rapper was arrested (yes again) in a Phoenix mall Saturday afternoon on suspicion of felony identity theft, reports E! News.

According to the entertainment website, DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, reportedly used a fake name and Social Security number to avoid paying a $7,500 medical bill.

Police say DMX used the alias “Troy Jones” when he checked in to the Mayo Clinic last spring for pneumonia.

This is the rapper’s fifth arrest in the past three months. No bond has been set for the artist but officials say he will likely remain isolated in jail for safety purposes.

DMX Arrested Again, Again

It seems that DMX just can’t hide from trouble or the law.

According to E! News, the rapper was arrested Friday for allegedly trying to buy drugs from an undercover cop in Miami. According to the police report, DMX asked the officer for $30 worth of cocaine and $15 of marijuana.

After the troubled star handed the officer $45, he was arrested.

Just this past Monday, Miami police caught DMX driving with a suspended license but he was released shortly after posting $500 bail. However, DMX’s list of criminal offences continues.

The star is currently facing animal-cruelty charges in Arizona, after SWAT teams founds a number of pit bull puppies that required immediate veterinary care for malnutrition and dehydration.

DMX Pleads Not Guilty

After arriving one hour late for an arraignment on four felony drug charges and seven misdemeanor animal-cruelty charges, DMX entered a plea of not guilty.

DMX (also known as Earl Simmons) arrived to the Maricopa County Superior Court, in Phoenix, Thursday dressed in a loose white T-shirt and jeans.

The Republic reported that DMX had no comment for the press. The rapper did however say he was dealing with the allegations through “prayer” and described his present situation as “not very pleasant.”

DMX is due back in court July 2 on the drug and animal-cruelty charges.

DMX Arrested, Twice This Week

Rapper DMX, born Earl Simmons, was arrested Friday on seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and four felony drug possession charges, according to the Maricopa County sheriff’s office.

Back in late August, a dozen malnourished pit bulls and a large weapons cache were found at DMX’s home in Cave Creek, Arizona. On May 9, after obtaining a search warrant, detectives seized more drugs and weapons from the star’s home who, according to police, barricaded himself inside his bedroom when authorities arrived to arrest the artist.

DMX has already been arrested once this week. On Tuesday, DMX was caught speeding well over the posted 65 mph speed limit, driving about 114 mph on a suburban freeway.

A Woman Hit By A Chair At A DMX Concert

A 29-year-old woman received nine staples to close a head wound, after she was struck with a steel chair on Saturday at the Nassau County Veterans Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y, during a DMX concert.

The Back To School Jam ‘06 started out horribly. After the G-Unit crew, which includes rappers 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks performed, DMX, 35, whose real name is Earl Simmons, began his set only to have his microphone cut off on him.

“F*** outta here with that, turn my s*** on,” demanded DMX, reports AllHipHop.com.

After 15 minutes of performing, the night started to take a turn for the worse when DMX got frustrated that his sound was cut off again during his part in the hit song, “Touch It,” and started a fight with the sound man.

A witness reported to AllHipHop.com that DMX “jumped in his booth and proceeded to swing at him several times. I could hear the those punches connecting.”

The fight resulted in DMX being escorted off stage. That didn’t sit well with the rowdy fans. Fans began to show their anger by throwing food and water at the remaining entourage on stage. DMX’s entourage began to fight back by throwing bottles of water into the crowd.

At one point, a chair was being thrown around back and forth injuring a female fan. She left the venue and headed to Nassau University Medical Center with a cut on her head that took nine stitches to close.

“Chairs were thrown by the audience to the stage and…at one point a member of DMX’s entourage picked up one of these steel folding chairs and threw it back into the crowd, striking the victim in the head,” said Nassau Police Detective Sergeant James Watson, reports E! Online.

As you might have already guessed, the concert was called off at that point.

The incident is currently being investigated as an assault. There are no charges as of yet. Police are still looking for the person responsible for throwing the chair. DMX and his camp have made no comment.

USO Says DMX Skipped Trip to Iraq

Earl Simmons, AKA DMX, has gone absent without leave.

The rapper was originally scheduled to perform for American troops in Iraq and Kuwait. He was scheduled to leave on Tuesday, but changed his flight plans to Wednesday.

However, when flight time came, Simmons was no where to be found, reports a press release from the USO.

“We are extremely disappointed that DMX decided not to complete the tour he asked us to arrange for him. When we announced this tour, troops were extremely excited about the possibility of seeing a performer they admired. We understand their disappointment,” said John Hanson, USO senior vice president for marketing and communications.

The USO adds that it rushed to put together the arrangements for DMX to travel, and got everything achieved in a timeframe of less than two weeks. Typically it takes up to 45 days to get all of the necessary approvals.

The USO lines up entertainment based on the musical tastes of the troops. Until now, it hasn’t had a problem with an entertainer honouring their commitment.

“We will continue to provide quality entertainment to the people who defend us daily around the world in some remote and often dangerous places. Fortunately, most performers honor their obligation to perform once they make the commitment,” Hanson said.

DMX Headed Back to Jail

Rapper DMX was sent back to jail on Thursday after he failed to show up for a court hearing.

An arrest warrant was issued for DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) by Judge Barbara Leak, and bail was set at $25,000 US, according to E! Online.

The hearing was related to DMX’s arrest earlier this month for traffic violations.

His lawyer, Stacey Murray, said that he was a no-show due to illness, but Leak didn’t buy the excuse.

“We have granted him a number of courtesies. It ends now,” she said.

The Yonkers-born hip-hop hero was ticketed June 2 after police in the Bronx pulled over his 2001 Chevy Suburban for making unsafe lane changes and driving at “unreasonable speeds.”

The 35-year-old was ticketed in early June for making unsafe lane changes, driving at “unreasonable speeds,” driving without a license and not wearing a seatbelt.
