The Backstreets Boys announced their anticipated 20th anniversary summer tour, In A World Like This, on Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show Monday.
“Backstreet Boys are going on tour this summer,” says Nick Carter. “That’s right, baby! All five of us are back together. It’s our 20th anniversary tour. We’ve got a brand new album coming out.”
The Jersey Shore‘s DJ Pauly D and Jesse McCartney are scheduled to join Nick, Howie, A.J., Brian and Kevin on the road.
The boy band have been working hard on recording their new album, the first since Kevin rejoined the band last year.
“It doesn’t sound like The Call or it doesn’t sound like the Millennium album,” Kevin told MTV News. “But it’s fresh; it’s new. We are trying to find where we are now sonically, and we are experimenting. It’s really exciting.”
The tour kicks off in Chicago on Aug. 2nd and ends in San Francisco Sept. 8.

Even though Snooki is pregnant the Situation newly sober, things don’t seem to change for the Jersey Shore crew. According to US Weekly sources, the cast were in yet another bar brawl while filming their 6th and final season for MTV. I know, colour me surprised.
While the cast was trying to have a good time at Seaside Heights’ Bamboo Bar on Friday night, a couple of drunk guys saw the camera and began taunting the girls. They then turned their attention to Vinny, Ronnie, Pauly D, and the Situation. Obviously, the drunk guys haven’t seen enough episodes to know that insulting the Jersey Shore crew results in a couple fists to the face.
The Situation, Ronnie, Pauly D, JWoww’s boyfriend Rodger, and Pauly’s friend Ryan were fighting off just about everyone, including the bouncers. Even JWoww threw a couple of punches. Vinny, who is probably the smartest and most self-aware person of the cast, kept himself out of the fray.
If you’re wondering where pregnant Snooki was, don’t fret. She wasn’t anywhere near the ruckus, and was probably at her new digs away from the Jersey Shore house.
The Queen of Pop is back at it again, ya’ll.
The forever-reigning pop star, rocked the crowd at the Palms Casino Resort’s Rain Nightclub in Las Vegas Friday night, to help promote her upcoming album Femme Fatale, which will undoubtedly be flying off of shelves when it is released this coming Tuesday.
The set, which was just a short 45 minutes, previewed three songs from the album, including “Hold it Against Me,” “Big Fat Bass,” and “‘Till The World Ends,” — a newly released single which has already climbed to #23 on Billboard’s Top 100 Charts.
It also included three short breaks for costume and set changes – during which none other than Jersey Shore’s Mr. DJ Pauly D, a resident DJ for the Palms, kept the crowd of roughly 1,500 Brit-lovers fired up.
Palms owner George Maloof told UsMagazine.com that, “Britney’s performances were unbelievable and her fans will never forget this night.”
Spears reportedly was not into conversing with the crowd though, keeping her comments to the traditional, “What’s up, Vegas? How you guys feeling? You guys having a good night?”
Understandable perhaps, considering the performance is the first public one Spears has done since her highly successful Circus tour in 2009.
The show, which was supposed to be a secret, but ended up being too juicy to remain quiet, was being filmed for an upcoming MTV special, that will air in conjunction with the release of her seventh studio album.
Brit even took to her Twitter page to tell fans, “Looks like my little secret isn’t a secret anymore… You’re all invited. Be there or be square b****!”
With boyfriend Jason Trawick, and father, Jamie Spears supporting the star from an exclusive VIP area, Spears took the stage with her backup dancers in a series of outfits, including a dazzling blinged-out bodysuit, and for the finale, a black bodysuit dotted with blinking red lights.
The mother of two ended the show with her newest single, “‘Till The World Ends,” proving with dance moves reminiscent of her “Slave 4 U” days, that Ms. Spears certainly still on top of her game.
Attention all Jersey Shore fans, get those fists pumping. On July 20, MTV and Universal Republic Records are going to release the Jersey Shore Soundtrack, reports MTV News.
The soundtrack will consist of a collection of songs inspired by the hit series.
The first single off of the album is “I Like It,” which is a collaboration between Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull. The club-ready single will be available on iTunes, May 5.
The album features other artists including: Lil Jon, LMFAO, Taio Cruz and Akon.
“MTV is excited to join forces with Universal Republic Records to bring the Jersey Shore Soundtrack to the show’s fans,” Amy Doyle, executive vice president of music and talent programming strategy, MTV brands, said. “From the clubs to the gym, there is going to be a lot of fist pumping and booty shaking going on this summer, and that’s just at my house.”
A deluxe edition of the soundtrack will also be available, which will include a bonus second CD, packed with music inspired by the first season of the “Shore.”
But don’t worry, the fist pumping doesn’t end there.
Fans still have the second season of the show to look forward to. The show will follow Snooki, the Situation, JWoww, DJ Pauly D and the gang down to Miami’s South Beach before returning to their house in Seaside Heights.
The second season will be premiering on Thursday, July 29 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
TMZ is reporting that the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” have been put on alert.
MTV will apparently be visiting the homes of Snooki, The Situation, DJ Pauly D, Ronnie, Vinny, Jwoww and Sammie as they start packing their egos, makeup, and tanning booths for Season 2.
The cast is supposed to fly out to Season 2′s mystery location next week.
