We are not saying that we are mind readers or we can see into the future, however we are not surprised by Avril Lavigne’s break up from her rocker husband Deryck Whibley. As Jordan explained in our XM radio show last week, we had an opportunity to interview Avril a few weeks ago when she was promoting the launch of her new clothing line, Abbey Dawn. We also saw Deryck there and had a quick interview with him. Although Deryck tried to be as courteous as possible, it was more than clear that he had no interest in being there, and there was something else happening behind the scenes. After a rocky relationship complete with arrests, accusations of drug abuse and public disputes, singer Amy Winehouse has officially split from Blake Fielder-Civil.
According to The Associated Press, neither Winehouse nor Fielder-Civil were present at the family Court hearing where a judge granted the divorce petition. After six weeks and a day the divorce of Winehouse, 25, and Fielder-Civil, 27, becomes final.
The British couple met at a bar in London, England, back in 2005. They wed at a simple ceremony in Miami in 2007, but spent most of their seemingly-troubled married life apart after Fielder-Civil was arrested on an assault charge that sent him to jail.
The Singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, has constantly accused Fielder-Civil — a music video production assistant — of introducing his daughter to heavy drugs.
The couple’s troubled relationship spawned numerous tabloid headlines around the world.
Mel Gibson attended Mass at the Roman Catholic church he had built in 2005 this past Sunday. His wife was nowhere to be found. “Well,” he was overheard saying, “she’s filed for divorce.” PEOPLE reports.
Last Thursday his wife of 28 years, Robyn Gibson, signed divorce papers seeking joint custody over their 9 year old son Thomas. Apparently the couple has been officially separated since August 26, 2006, about a month after he was charged with a DUI. He started sobering up after his roadside incident in which he made anti-Semitic remarks that he later apologized. Robyn’s divorce paper says the date of separation as “to be determined.”
Jodie Sweetin filed papers Wednesday for legal separation from her husband of 16 months, Cody Herpin.
The couple recently announced that they were working on a reality show together, which Sweetin said, at the time, was going to follow the couple and their new baby, now 7 months, Zoie.
According to People, Herpin was “dumbfounded” and said that Sweetin took Zoie and left the couple’s home. He expressed concern, in part, because of Sweetin’s former addiction to methamphetamine. Sweetin entered rehab in 2005 for the addiction. She met Herpin in May 2007, and they married just two months later.
Sweetin is best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the sitcom Full House.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been granted a preliminary “quickie divorce” by the High Court of London, according to People.
The judge issued a decree nisi, which is the first step in the U.K.’s two-step divorce process. Neither Madonna nor Ritchie was actually present when the preliminary decree was granted.
People magazine reports that Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, Kim Fey, filed for divorce last week.
Fey is pursuing sole custody of their two sons, Elijah and Xavier, but would allow Wahlberg visitation rights. She has also requested Wahlberg pay spousal support and her attorney’s fees.
The couple have been separated since January, and were wed in 1999.

The Hulk has won another battle against his opponent. Except this time, the pro wrestler’s victory took place in court against his estranged wife Linda Bollea.
According to E! News, a Florida judge has ruled that Hulk Hogan does not have to go through with the purchase of a $4.2 million Las Vegas condo, a property he agreed to buy with Bollea back in 2005.
“We are thrilled that the judge did not require us to continue to engage in the folly of purchasing a $4.2 million condo at a time when we should be considering other matters,” Hogan’s attorney, David Houston, told E! News.
“We believe the court injected a dose of reality into a contested litigation and feel that we have started down the road to resolution.”
Bollea’s attorneys have yet to comment on the ruling.
Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has been released from Memphis’ Regional Medical Center – just four days after his car flipped in a serious crash.
According to E! News, “The Dark Knight” actor underwent a four-and-a-half-hour surgery for his injuries, hospital spokeswoman Kathy Stringer confirmed.
“I left the hospital today just after 12 noon, Memphis time,” Freeman said in a statement to E! News. “I’m doing very well. I feel really good.
“I just really, I thank the staff at Elvis Presley [Hospital] and many, many thanks to my many well-wishers. It’s great to know people care about you.”
The 71-year-old actor is said to be “doing well” and will likely have to wear a neck brace for the next six to eight months.
Freeman had quite the tough week. Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, were planning to divorce. The pair has been quietly separated since December 2007.
Just because Carey Hart is no longer married to singer Pink, it doesn’t mean the motocross star doesn’t still miss her, reports People magazine.
“We talk all the time and try to stay connected as much as possible,” Hart told the entertainment magazine at the opening of his new Las Vegas club, Wasted Space, in the Hard Rock Hotel. “It’s a tough situation to be in but I love her to death.”
Hart also confessed that he still misses his ex: “I miss everything about her,” he says.
