The Internet was fraught with overreactions, memes and tweets about the announcement that Disney is buying Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion. They’re also making a seventh movie in the Star Wars series called “Episode 7,” set for release in 2015, with Episodes 8 and 9 following. There’s just sooo much to think about. Not just unending questions about whether the seventh episode will be just as terrible as the last three released, but will there be a theme park? Is Leia now a Disney princess? Will Joss Whedon sprout angel wings and become the new director?
The Internet wants answers now people.

Soo this happened. Hugh Jackman teamed up with Psy to dress up as Wolverine. I really, really hope this evolves into an epic nerdy version of Gangnam Style.
365 reasons why…
Aww. Somebody has a really thoughtful girlfriend (apparently with an intense love of rainbow assortments of paper). A woman wrote 365 reasons why she loves her boyfriend, including #19 that says “…you still love me when I’m being a crazy, overly attached girlfriend.”
The new season of AMC’s The Walking Dead premiered last night and we were damn excited. To celebrate its return, Antonius and Vijay from AVbyte (the same guys who did the Disney hipster princesses musical) put together a zombie musical all about singing, dancing and eating BRAINS. It makes the whole life of a zombie seem much more dignified, doesn’t it?
I always knew our dads couldn’t hide their undying love for Disney classics. These LifeofDad members pull out all the stops (no doubt to impress their Ariel-loving kids) to sing “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. The video shows dads from all around the world (unfortunately, none from under the sea) belting out the words to the camera. It really is as cute as it sounds. So cute in fact, that I demand the dads of the world come together again and present us with more beautiful videos like this one. Dads, don’t forget there’s “a whole new world” (haha) of Disney classics out there.
Here’s 5 Disney classics the dads should cover next:
1. “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan
Not going to lie, I totally used to pretend to be these hunky men with my friends as we sang this Disney classic. If I can do it, so can these awesome dads.
2. “Zero to Hero” from Hercules
All dads know a thing or two about being heroes, am I right? (Or am I just trying to butter them up to cover this epic song…)
Yesterday, we saw how Rian Johnson’s Looper would be like if it were remade into a movie full of dirty jokes, farts and cheap humour. But what if Looper was secretly just a remake of a 90s film?
Here in the Disney version, we see scenes of a little Joseph Gordon-Levitt and a much younger, hairier Bruce Willis in what seems like…a heartwarming, family classic.
Bringing a corpse back to life is often (if not always) extremely creepy. But in Tim Burton’s new film Frankenweenie, resurrection is just as cute and endearing when it involves a boy and his everlasting love for his dog.
Plot
Set in the fictional town of New Holland, Victor Frankenstein (voiced by Charlie Tahan) is a bright and curious boy who doesn’t have many friends. Spending much of his time cooped up in the attic doing science experiments, the only companion he has is his beloved dog Sparky.
Together, the two are inseparable. So much so, that Victor’s caring parents (voiced by Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara) convince him to make friends and try different things.
Everything changes when Sparky dies unexpectedly after an accident. Trying to deal with his grief in science class, Victor is suddenly inspired when his eccentric teacher Mr. Rzykruski (Martin Landau) shows how a dead frog’s limbs still work when electrocuted. Motivated, Victor rushes back home to devise a plan to bring his dog back to life.
When the plan works and Sparky lives, Victor tries to keep his resurrected pet a secret. But when Sparky gets out, havoc breaks and it’s up to Victor to save the day.
Things I loved:
The characters
It just wouldn’t be a Tim Burton film without some quirky characters, and with their bulging eyes and oversized heads, these ones are especially so. Some favourites that come to mind are Victor’s classmates, Edgar (Atticus Shaffer) and Weird Girl (also voiced by Catherine O’Hara), who try to tamper with his scientific discovery.
Winona Ryder on the other hand, seems to play the sanest character on the bill as Elsa Van Helsing. She holds the most sympathy for Victor during his loss, but is way too distracted dealing with her tyrant uncle, who just so happens to be the town mayor (also voiced by Martin Short).
But the most interesting character in the movie is none other than science teacher Mr. Rzykruski. Sounding like a European Dracula, he steals the show, applying strange and unsettling teaching methods to his class.
The Special Effects
I’m not a big fan of 3D because I find it hardly ever works. But coupled with the film’s beautiful set designs and art direction, Frankenweenie is worth seeing in another dimension.
Despite being in black and white to pay homage to Old Hollywood, this film never ceases to amaze me. While it’s a stop-motion animation, at times the scenes are so real you can almost feel the sweat dripping from the characters’ faces.
Pack away the sandals and take out the boots

Saturday marked the first day of fall. Now I’m kind of depressed because I can no longer wear my flats without my feet freezing. Get yourself a pair of cute moccasin boots before the snow starts to fall. Then we can move onto Uggs… but not quite yet. [inspiration-fashion]
Full House reunion

I’ve seen every episode of Full House..about ten times each. It’s hard to believe it’s already been 25 years since the first episode aired. The cast got together on the weekend and even tweeted out some adorbz pics/videos. Ugh, that takes me back!! [a-v-a-n]

Arm candy for days

If there’s one thing I’ve become obsessed with, it’s bracelets. You can find a whole bunch of DIY designs online that are super easy to make. Once you get the hang out it, you can start selling them to your friends and family. Who doesn’t like a little bit of income doing something they love? [toodles2ubitches]

Not only are fraternal twins Megan and Liz amazing singers, they give out great advice. If anyone’s looking for a couple of role models, these are the girls for you. [thirteen-fearless]

Jamie Lynn Spears
Jamie is best known as her lead role in Zoey 101 and younger sister of the legendary Miss Britney Spears. In 2007, she announced that she was pregnant with her daughter Maddie. That was probably the last time you heard from her. Spears left the limelight for a few years and moved to a quiet town in Mississippi, with her then boyfriend and first love, Casey Aldridge. Last month, Jamie took the stage at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, TN where she dedicated a song to her older sister Britney, “I Look Up To You.” Do you want to see an album from her soon?
Dylan and Cole Sprouse
You can’t forget these adorable twins from Disney’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. They actually turn 20-years-old tomorrow (almost fully legal) and are both currently attending NYU. Seems like this group of guys (below) fan-boy hardcore while waiting for Dylan Sprouse to leave class. Not only was Dylan nice enough to chat and take a group photo with the fellas, he’s totally laid back and not so “Disney” anymore. I love how the guys break out into theme song as he continues to walk away.

Demi Lovato continued her tour Wednesday night at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Let me just tell you, I went to see Demi a couple weeks back and the girl has some major pipes! These Lovatics had no idea what surprise was coming their way until Demi broke the news — and they broke out into screams.
The surprise guest was Nick Jonas! After exchanging hugs, Demi told the fans in the crowd, “Nick is one of my greatest friends I’ve ever had, so I just wanted to bring him out on stage to show you, even though you already know how talented he is.” The two worked along side each other in “Camp Rock,” later followed by a tour with the Jonas Brothers. It was a touching moment when they performed ”Catch Me” and “Don’t Forget,” which was a song they wrote together. ZOMG I love going down memory lane.
After the show, Nick tweeted:

Skrillex is joining in on the magic of Disney.
Announced on Thursday during Comic-Con, director Rich Moore announced that Skrillex will be writing music for his upcoming Disney animation film ‘Wreck-It-Ralph.’
Calling the DJ “one of my favourite performers.” Moore also gave attendees a 10-minute preview of the film, which is based on vintage video games and includes characters from Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat. John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch are just some of the actors providing voices for the animated characters.
While Skrillex hasn’t revealed what the songs will sound like for ‘Wreck-It-Ralph’, the dubstep artist will also be composing material for upcoming film Spring Breakers, which stars Selena Gomez, James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens.
But don’t expect to get your headbanging on in the theatre. At the time of the announcement, he tweeted, “it’s more or less traditional scoring…dont expect dance floor bangers!”
While Disney and Skrillex seem like odd pairing, I can’t help but be excited. It’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
We present our AMAZING supercut of a bunch of our favourite entries from Justin Bieber’s “Girlfriend” contest. We also talk about a girl whose dream of being Tinker Bell was crushed by Disney and finally talk about beer. Do you remember your first sip?
She just wanted to be Tinker Bell — spending hours putting on makeup, nail polish and a costume. Then Disney ran over her dream like a Hummer on sparkle dust.

I’ve sad it before and I’ll say it again, redheads always get the coolest animated princesses. But unlike some of Disney’s princesses, Pixar makes their female character pretty badass.
In “Brave,” Princess Merida is a skilled archer and stubborn daughter who wants to change her fate. Her actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom and when she turns to an eccentric Wise Woman to help her, her wish backfires.
The movie is expected to be one of the biggest hits this summer, which isn’t surprising considering it comes from the animation gods responsible for WALL*E, Toy Story 3 and Up. It’s due in theatres on June 22, so the trailer will have to tide you over until then.

Miley Cyrus has faced a lot of accusations lately, from getting engaged to being a drug connoisseur. The latest claim is that she has an eating disorder.
The singer was first accused of anorexia when she posted a photo of fast food on Twitter along with the caption: ”I can’t eat it. So I’m just gonna smell the s**t out of it! My mouth is literally watering.”
It’s a leap to say she’s anorexic just because she stays away from unhealthy foods, but in Hollyweird it seems like everyone is on some type of vegan or juice diet. Miley is a role model for a lot of young women but I agree that the media focuses too much on celebrity weight rather than healthy diets. Just because she won’t eat a greasy meal doesn’t mean she has an eating disorder.
Miley responded to the criticism via Twitter: ”For everyone calling me anorexic I have a gluten and lactose allergy. It’s not about weight it’s about health. Gluten is c**p anyway!… I ate today at Easter lunch but all of it was healthy and even more fulfilling! Health is happiness!”

1) The new trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman looks decidedly darker than Julia Roberts’ Mirror Mirror. Both are adaptations of the original Brothers Grimm fairytale but take a very different approach.
2) Charlize Theron takes the role of the evil queen and lives up to her “bitch” reputation. She recently joked that just like how Picasso went through his blue period, this is her “bitch period.”
3) The movie also stars Kristen Stewart as a badass Snow White. She seems more like a warrior than a doe-eyed Disney songbird.
4) The movie also features monsters and frightening demons. It’s more grown up than the cheery Mirror Mirror.
5) We get a quick glimpse of Sam Claflin (Prince William) planting a sloppy wet kiss on Snow. But Chris Hemsworth, who plays the Huntsman, is still our eye candy.
Snow White and the Huntsman

Kelly Osbourne originally thought Miley Cyrus was a “perfect Disney b*tch when they first met.
Starring together in an upcoming movie called “So Undercover”, the Fashion Police host was happy to find her first impressions of the former Hannah Montana star were very wrong.
“When I first met Miley I thought, ‘You’re too f***ing perfect, you Disney b***h,” Kelly said in an interview with Closer magazine. ”But I love her – she’s got a level head on her shoulders – unlike so many silly LA girls.”
Kelly, who is the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, has previously said that she and Miley bonded because of their famous parents. Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is a singer most known for his hit “Achy Breaky Heart.”
“She just gets it. She has a really similar upbringing to me – though her side of things is on a completely different scale to mine,” Kelly added. “I’m from rock ‘n’ roll music and hers is country but she gets it.”
It’s nice to see these two stars getting along but did Kelly seriously think Miley was a perfect Disney star? She must be living under a rock if she didn’t see all the controversies Miley has gotten into in the past. (*cough* calling herself a stoner, *cough* salvia video)
No one’s perfect, but I’ll admit that Miley’s problems aren’t even that bad. She did end up better than a few stars from Disney…which of course, will remain unnamed.
After dropping a condom in front of everyone on the red carpet of the premiere for The Lorax, everyone wants to know what’s inside Zac Efron’s pants – er – you know what we mean.
Paul Murphy hits the streets again to finds out what’s causing so much controversy. He talks about Efron’s safe sex practices and which other Dr. Suess stories get people in the mood for sweet, sweet nursery rhyme love.

I’ve never seen Tim Burton’s original 1984 short film Frankenweenie but it must be pretty good since Disney green lighted a remake. The film’s new trailer reminds me of the black and white stop motion animation he used in his classic films, spurring a lot of nostalgia for adults who watched it as kids.
Of course the “Franken” part of the name is an homage to the 1931 Frankenstein, which forms the basis of the story. But the “weenie” part is for the dog, Sparky. In Burton’s version, a boy named Victor loses his dog Sparky and uses the power of science to bring it back to life. Victor tries to hide his creation but the mischievous Sparky gets out and causes havoc in the town.
The movie looks like it has a lot of classic Tim Burton humour and it stars Winona Ryder and Martin Short. But we’ll have to wait until October 5 to see if it’s as good as the trailer.

Buzzfeed found and posted these amazing Disney drawings by a young female artist named Victoria.
She has illustrated what all the Disney princesses would look like if they were hipsters that shopped at Urban Outfitters and listened to a lot of Foster the People.
Take a lot at these amazing interpretations.

Good news for all those dudes too poor to buy razors. Starting February 3, all Disney employees can show up to work unshaven.
In an attempt to loosen its legendary dress code – known as The Disney Look – men can sport a beard or goatee. Soul patches are not allowed, as the LA Times reports. Men can also rock a bald head, however women are not permitted to do so. Tattoos and piercings are still forbidden for both genders.
Still, the ability to now show up at Disneyland with a beard is still a giant step in the right direction. The company has one of the strictest dress codes around. Until 2010, women were required to wear pantyhose with skirts and couldn’t wear sleeveless tops.
I can’t wait until Prince Charming starts looking more like Prince Grizzly Bear next time I’m at Disneyland.
