Two films – one a beloved action franchise, the other an upcoming horror comedy – are making their way into the comic world courtesy of Boom! Studios.
The comic-book company has announced it will publish a “Die Hard” prequel titled “Die Hard: Year One,” which will star a younger version of the John McClane character made famous by Bruce Willis on the big screen.
The official plot synopsis reads: “Every great action hero got started somewhere: Batman Began. Bond had his Casino Royale. And for John McClane, more than a decade before the first DIE HARD movie, he’s just another rookie cop, an East Coast guy working on earning his badge in New York City during 1976’s Bicentennial celebration. Too bad for John McClane, nothing’s ever that easy.”

BRUCE WILLIS is already considering making another Die Hard film, just weeks before the third sequel hits cinemas.
The 52-year-old is so pleased with Live Free Or Die Hard – which is being released internationally as Die Hard 4.0 – he wants to make another movie, but only if director Len Wiseman is on board.
He says, “Fox is already talking about another one. I told them I’d only do it if Len is involved.”

According to eOnline, Bruce Willis announced at the Cannes Film Festival this past weekend that Die Hard 4 will be made.
“I’ve got a little bit of good news. We’re as close as we’ve ever got to getting Die Hard 4 started. It won’t be called Die Hard 4 but that will be the story. Hopefully it will be out next summer,” Willis said.
However, revisions to the script were made after it was realized that it had a seen which had an eerie resemblance to the Hurricane Katrina aftermath.
Originally, the film had a series of scenes set on the Mississippi, where a freight train crashes through a bridge on to an oil tanker, which causes an explosion and sends huge waves into New Orleans.
Firm release and production start dates have not been released.
