With a fitting Dr. Seuss line, Diane Sawyer was gone.

“I’m going to take the advice of that immortal philosopher Dr. Seuss, who said, ‘Don’t cry because it happened, smile because it happened’,” said Sawyer, who officially resigned from her duties as co-anchor of Good Morning America. She has been a host on the show for ten years, and will be moving on to a different area within the ABC television studio. Next stop: World News.

According to E! Online, she greeted her audience with an emotional, “This morning I am beaming at all of you. My heart is smiling and the privilege of sharing my mornings with all of you have been more than I can say.”

Sawyer’s faithful audience aren’t the only people who will miss her on the Good Morning America set. Big talk show hosts like Kimmel, Fallon and Colbert taped goodbyes to the queen of television that were aired during Sawyer’s goodbye segment.

In her grand finale, the responsibility of hosting America’s morning show was passed on to George Stephanopoulos and Juju Chang. They will officially begin their reign on morning television this Monday (December 14).

Chris Cuomo Denies Rumours He’s Leaving

Good Morning America anchor Chris Cuomo says he will not be leaving the show after Diane Sawyer leaves, reports Perez Hilton. George Stephanopoulis is expected to replace Sawyer when she becomes the anchor of ABC World News in 2010.

Rumours stated Cuomo was going to NBC’s Dateline.

“That’s 100 percent untrue,” he said.

He is reportedly also in the running for Elizabeth Vargas’ spot as 20/20 co-anchor.

“Chances are good or better that Chris will stay at ABC,” said a source.

Chris Brown Apologizes Again For Rihanna Assault

If the first time wasn’t enough for everyone, there’s a second chance to forgive (or fail to forget) Chris Brown for his assault on Rihanna earlier in 2009.

Following Rihanna’s recent interview with Diane Sawyer, Brown responded with an apologetic response in ABC News. According to mtvnews.com, Robin Roberts conducts an interview with the young singer on “20/20″ to air this Friday (December 5).

The heart-to-heart that Rihanna shared with Sawyer was heartwrenching. Rihanna appeared poised and confident, donning a new haircut and colour, but spoke gravely about the assault. She said to ABC news that Brown was “clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him. It was almost as if he had nothing to lose. He had so much to lose. It wasn’t the same person that says I loved you. It definitely wasn’t those eyes.”

Brown was witness to these sombre statements. Since the violent encounter, mtvnews.com reports that he has appeared on CNN with Larry King and MTV News’ Sway, in addition to interviews with NYC radio station Hot 87 and BET’s 106 & Park.

Chris Brown Ready to Come Clean

ABC has gotten an interview with Chris Brown, and they say the R&B star is finally going to speak about his assault of Rihanna, reports E! News. Robin Roberts’ interview with the singer has already been taped and will air on Dec. 11 on 20/20.

Brown, 20, will release his latest album, Graffiti, Dec. 8.

Rihanna, 21, spoke about the assault with Diane Sawyer on Nov. 5′s episode of 20/20. She said she was embarrassed to still have feelings for Brown.

Brown is performing community service as part of his sentence. One of his probation terms also dictates the pair must avoid each other until 2014.

Rihanna’s Risque New Single for ‘Russian Roulette’

Rihanna’s triumphant return to the industry just got a little more risque with clips of her new video, “Russian Roulette” surfacing online. The video, directed by Anthony Mandler, depicts Rihanna undergoing a collage of violence, including images of her underwater riddled with bulletholes.

Mandler says it’s all a metaphor, but eyebrows are naturally being raised in the wake of the Chris Brown abuse scandal.

“I think that with this song and the meaning of this song and how loaded it all is, no pun intended, how much imagery and perhaps symbolism that is loaded in this song, the only way to do it was to do something that was visually challenging,” Mandler told MTV News.

The video premiered on 20/20, this following a series of public appearances from Rihanna who avoided the spotlight since the February incident. Rihanna appeared in a candid interview with Diane Sawyer, in which she revealed details of the attack and the affect it had on her life. Earlier this month, she was recognized by Glamour Magazine as the Woman of the Year.

“Domestic violence is a big secret,” she told Glamour. “My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”

Rihanna’s new album, Rated R, will be released on Nov. 23.

Chris Brown is also premiering a video today for “Crawl”, a song he tells MTV is not only about Rihanna.

The chorus talks about “crawling back to love”, but Brown says it’s a universal concept.

“When I heard the whole concept and everything I was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy,’ ” Brown told MTV. “So being able to express the feelings, it was like, probably one of the best [records I've done.] But it was more than me trying to do a record that meant crawl to love, crawl back to love. Meaning whether it’s from your negative situations, whether it’s from any problems you’ve dealt with, like anybody’s situation. Mine being my personal situation with shorty, but for anybody, for being inspired as far it being the war or a death in the family, whether it’s anything, anybody just crawl back to love. ‘Cause love conquers everything. Love, at the end of the day, makes everybody happy.”

Brown has frequently told media he thinks the details of his relationship with Rihanna should be private, but he has not shyed away from offering several public apologies.
