A bunch of YouTube videos have hit the net carrying a demo recording of Lady Gaga’s hit song “Telephone.” The thing is, the demo is reportedly the voice of Britney Spears because apparently the song was originally written for her.

The leaked demo, which can be heard below, has been confirmed by Rodney “Darkchild” Jenkins to be the voice of Spears herself, reports PerezHilton.

“Just listened and yes its the demo, not a mixed version,” Jenkins said. “I will not leak a mixed version. I am respecting Britney and Jive wishes. I love all of u and I love working with Britney. God bless!”

Jenkins also gave some details about Spears’ upcoming seventh album.

“[Spears manager] Larry Rudolph came to my house and we had an incredible conversation about Britney’s new album,” he said. “We talked about the direction of her album, he gave me some insight into the direction and he wants me to work on stuff. I’m about to put 200 per cent of my focus into writing a new smash for Britney’s new album.

“I think the fans deserve it, I think Britney deserves it and I can’t wait to get back into the studio with Britney. I’m about to go crazy … Since the conversation with Larry Rudolph I’ve studied some stuff from her last album and the Blackout album, and that was great stuff but I’m gonna bring something a little bit greater. I’m gonna give it my all to deliver something that’s crazy … for Britney.”

Hopefully it’s something as popular as “Telephone!”

A free download of the Guitar Hero Metallica demo will be available today on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

The demo allows for players to play Metallica hits like “Sad But True” and “Seek And Destroy.” Songs from Alice In Chains and Queen were picked as guest acts by Metallica. Players can choose from gameplay modes like single-player, band quickplay, head-to-head, face-off, pro face-off and battle.

The game is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Budcat Creations is taking care of versions for Wii  and PlayStation 2. The game will be released on March 29.

DICE annouced last week that players can now unlock the Time Trail mode in the recently released demo for Mirror’s Edge, available at the PlayStation Store and the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. To unlock the Time Trail mode, players must select Race > Play Time Trail in the main menu of the demo, and then enter a 16 number code.

The Time Trail mode challenges players to find the fastest routes through the city featured in the game. Players can also upload their best times to the Mirror’s Edge online leaderboards for others to compete against.

Mirror’s Edge will ship to retailers in North America on January 13 for the Playstation 3 and Xbix 360 and worldwide on January 16 for the PC
