Ashley Tisdale has landed a sitcom deal with ABC. Ashley will star in the series called Under Construction.

Deadline reports the show is about a young woman whose independence is put on hold when she is forced to move back home while her father renovates her recently purchased “money pit” along with her life.

Ashley’s production company, Blondie Girl Productions, will be producing the show.

Demi Lovato Hinting at Subway Sponsorship?

Is Demi Lovato hinting at a Subway sponsorship? The pop star sent out some tweets that point in that direction.

It all started on Sunday, when Lovato tweeted, “I could eat subway everyday of my life. Yum. #pointlesstweet”

She added, “Seriously subway, I eat at your joint like everyday … Maybe we could work something out….? Heh? ”

Subway would be smart to work a deal with Demi. Her album “Unbroken” is doing amazing, and they should grab her while they still can.

James Durbin from ‘American Idol’ Gets Record Deal

American Idol Season 10 finalist James Durbin has signed a record deal with Wind-Up Records.

Gregg Wattenberg, Wind-up’s Chief Creative Officer, said “When the possibility of signing James Durbin to Wind-up Records came up, we knew it was a no-brainer. James is a rock star. We’re all excited to have him as part of the family and can’t wait to let his fans hear his debut album.”

The album is due for November.

‘American Idol’s’ Haley Reinhart gets Interscope Recording Deal

Haley Reinhart who was a finalist on Season 10 of American Idol has just landed a recording deal with Interscope Records. Haley is currently on tour with “American Idol Live,” which kicked off on July 6.

“I’ve always dreamed of getting this kind of recognition,” Reinhart says in a release. “I am very thankful to 19 and Interscope for giving me this opportunity to create my own music.”

This is amazing news for Haley, considering she initially tried out for Season 9, but didn’t make the cut for Hollywood. However, Season 10 she made the cut for Hollywood and became an Idol favorite. Although she didn’t win Season 10, getting a recording contract with Interscope is a nice second prize.

Naya Rivera from ‘Glee’ Grabs Record Deal

Columbia Records likes Naya Rivera on ‘Glee,’ so much that the 24 year old has grabbed a record deal, according to EW.com.

It’s not surprising as Rivera has demonstrated her vocal range, covering BBA to Amy Winehouse. But there’s no word yet on the musical style she’ll aim for when she enters the studio for her debut album.

Understandably, this is a dream come true for Rivera, who said in an interview, ”I would love to release my own album someday….I can die happy when that happens.”

Bristol Palin Gets Book Deal

Bristol Palin has a book deal, which is surprising because we didn’t think she knew how to read. Fox News reports Bristol has signed with William Morrow to publish “Not Afraid of Life,” to come out this summer. Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, announced Tuesday that the memoir would provide “an inside look at her life.”

“Bristol gives readers an intimate behind-the-scenes look at her life for the first time, from growing up in Alaska to coming of age amid the media and political frenzy surrounding her mother’s political rise; from becoming a single mother while still a teenager to coping as her relationship with her baby’s father crumbled publicly — not once, but twice,” according to Morrow.

“Bristol talks about the highs and lows of her appearance on ABC-TV’s ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ including the aching hours of practice, the biting criticisms, and the thrill of getting to the show’s finals,” Morrow announced. “She speaks candidly of her aspirations for the future and the deep religious faith that gives her strength and inspiration.

So how will this book be written? There is no way Bristol can write beyond a Grade 4 level. However, nobody with an intelligence above a Grade 4 level would be dumb enough to read this book.

Courtney Cox Offered $1 Million to Promote Cougarlife.com

Although freshly separated, Courtney Cox is already getting offers to be the face of the cougar lifestyle. Cougarlife.com has offered the actress $1 Million to be the spokesperson for the dating website.

Cougarlife is a niche dating website which matches older women with younger men. Cougarlife believes Cox would make the perfect spokesperson for the website.

According to TMZ, as part of the deal, Cox would agree voice 12 radio ads, appear in 4 TV ads, and make at least 30 public appearances for the CL brand.

Cox has yet to comment on the offer.

‘That 70′s Show’ Danny Masterson Says He Was Screwed in Real Estate Scam

As we reported over the weekend, “That 70′s Show” cast member Danny Masterson is being sued over a real estate deal gone bad. If you recall, Danny played Hyde on the Fox sitcom.

TMZ reports that Danny partnered with a company called TomatoBank on a real estate development in 2007, but ended up being responsible for a loan worth $3.2 Million to develop the building. Unfortunately the 4-story development in Toluca Lake, CA ended up being a 3-story building because of permit issues, all without Danny’s knowledge.

Masterson eventually found out, but because of the crappy deal he made, he’s responsible for the $3.2 Million, and only has an unfinished 3-story condo building.

Danny is now suing TomatoBank to cover his losses and take over the debt.

Maybe Danny can grab another guest appearance on “Entourage” to earn a few bucks for his legal bills.

Kings of Leon Move to Warner Brothers

Kings of Leon have left Columbia Records and will be recording with Warner Brothers, reports Perez Hilton. The new deal requires the group to pay half of the recording costs, but gives them more control over production and a larger cut of the profits.

“Kings of Leon are one of the few bands on the planet who have enough heft to negotiate such a favourable deal,” said a source. “It is virtually unheard of, but it shows how keen Warner Brothers were to have them on their books.”

Traditionally, labels give artists an advance to record, which they must pay back along with a share of the profits made on an album.

Conan O’Brien Reaches a Deal with NBC

It looks like its official – Conan is saying goodbye to NBC. TMZ is reporting that O’Brien and NBC have reached an agreement, with the lawyers reviewing the final details Friday evening. Assuming everything adds up, Conan will end his rein at NBC and a official announcement will be made Saturday. Rumor has it Conan is having serious discussions with FOX about bring his show over to that network.

Mischa Expected to Take DUI Plea Deal

Former O.C. star Mischa Barton has accepted a plea deal in her DUI case.

The deal will save the young star from spending any time in jail, People magazine reports. Barton is set to plead no contest and accept three years of unsupervised probation at her arraignment on Thursday.

Barton’s other charges will also be lessened. The marijuana possession charge will be dropped and the “charge of driving without a license will be reduced to an infraction,” according to the magazine’s source.

The 22-year-old will also have to go to alcohol education classes for three months.

She was arrested on Dec. 27 after she was found weaving between traffic.

Degrassi Gets Syndication Deal

If you’re a fan of Degrassi: The Next Generation and live south of the 49th parallel, you’re about to enjoy more of the hit TV series.

Thunderbirds Films and its U.S. distribution partners, Program Partners, announced Tuesday that beginning in the fall of 2007, Degrassi will air Monday to Friday in top U.S. markets.

“Degrassi in the major U.S. markets; it’s another great Canadian success story,” said Susanne Boyce, President of Programming for CTV and Chair of the CTV Media Group. “We’re extremely proud of the series and the creative team that continues to push new boundaries.”

Currently, American fans can watch Degrassi on N channel; a cable network only available in some U.S. markets.

Degrassi airs on CTV and draws in an impressive 1 million viewers every week.
