I’d definitely pay more attention to the Amazing Race Canada if the deadmau5 clan made the show! The DJ’s hilarious siblings Chris and Jen Zimmerman got their famous brother and fiancé Kat von D to help out on their audition tape for the cross-country adventure series. If props from Hollywood’s hottest tattooed couple wasn’t enough, deadmau5 gave Chris and Jen a little extra love to his 2 million Twitter followers:

Good luck Chris and Jen! Hope we get to see you on adventures ‘n’ stuff.
A video of Deadmau5 rolling through an airport x-ray machine is making the rounds online this morning, though no one knows if he actually did something soooo stupid. Not because they’re convinced that he would avoid something so dangerous (prolonged x-ray exposure ain’t too good on your health) but because you don’t actually see him going into the machine. My guess? They acted out the whole thing and edited in a digital image later. Still, there’s really no reason why he would go to so much trouble to fake it, so perhaps it is real after all… I don’t think you should think too hard about it.

For those who are acquainted with the term, griefers refer to people in multiplayer video games that go out of their way to harass other players in the game in the most aggressive ways possible. This behaviour could include, but is not limited to killing other players, crashing their servers or verbally insulting them.
If you still don’t understand, just watch Deadmau5′ new music video for “Professional Griefers” featuring My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way. The two musicians duke it out through massive robotic machines, in front of thrilled spectators. In the end, there seems to be more than one loser in the battle.
The track is from his upcoming album Album Title Goes Here.

The Wanted are like, so popular

Ah yes. Just like The Wanted I also love spending my afternoons indulging in the slew of fan mail addressed to me. The only problem is trying to drag the heavy bag of love sonnets through my front door (#celebrityproblems). Luckily it does wonders for my biceps. [Sidenote: I don't actually get letters of praise or in fact, any letters at all. I'm merely channeling the thoughts of bandmates Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness (above) because their lives seem are undeniably awesome.]
Conor Maynard is naked
Conor Maynard landed in Atlanta to perform for his Mayniacs and tweeted about the sweltering heatwave that struck the city. By now the Mayniacs are like “Britt, stop talking about Atlanta and weather. Dude just tweeted about “naked time” and I’m visualizing. He can have the key to my city anytime.” Yes, they ACTUALLY just said that.
Kendall Jenner is a princess
When I was Kendall Jenner’s age I spent my summers drinking rainbow Slurpees at the local amusement park and watching repeat episodes of dated sitcoms when I wasn’t working at a nameless Canadian department store. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Kendall and her sister Kylie go to photo shoots and tweet photos of themselves in glitzy princess dresses. Man, she is so relatable.

I’m totally loving Eytan & The Embassy’s new music video for “Everything Changes” even if it does bear remarkable resemblance to Ingrid Michaelson’s “Blood Brothers.”
The band goes for 18 costume changes in four minutes, which sets the world record for the most costume changes in an unedited music video.
See if you can identify all the characters played by vocalist Eytan Oren, including Lady Gaga, Deadmau5, John Lennon and David Bowie. The video took a day to rehearse and 30 takes to get perfect.

This is probably the strangest thing we found today. It might be the easy connection between cats and dead mice (deadmi5e?) that makes this funny, or that they seem to be convulsing in perfect time, but it made us laugh regardless. These poor kitties all have hairballs… and the best way to dispose of them? Techno puke dancing! At least it looks like dancing until you see what comes out of their mouths.

Skrillex relayed his online bullying miseries to Pitchfork, saying he’s been slapped with a lot of cruel words on Facebook. To his credit, Skrillex just doesn’t care.
“I don’t care if people hate me. I mean, I get it. When you were young, you were like, ‘The Backstreet Boys are gay!’ He said: “And kids are on computers now. I’ll post something on Facebook, and then, within two seconds, there are comments: ‘Fuck you dude… you suck… pussy… bitch… faggot… you ruined dubstep… emo.’ But if you look at their profiles, they’re so young.”
Most people have experienced some form of online bullying, whether it’s on Facebook, Twitter or their blog. It’s a good message for Skrillex to push to his fans. Half of these users are protected by the shield of anonymity and are probably just taking out their own frustrations on someone else.
In the same interview, Skrillex said he turned down the chance to collaborate with the Foo Fighters and Deadmau5, which is surprising considering Deadmau5 was seemingly against big name collaborations.
Skrillex will headline this summer’s South West Four Weekender and is fresh off his SXSW performance.

Deadmau5 was so pissed that Madonna made comments about drug use to her young fans at a recent concert that he slammed the pop queen on Facebook, his blog and Twitter. Madonna was at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami this past weekend and shouted to the crowd: “How many people in this crowd have seen molly?”
If you don’t know, molly is slang for MDMA, one of the key ingredients in ecstasy and also similar to the name of Madonna’s newest album (MDNA). It’s a popular drug with the progressive house music community.
While tons of her fans cheered, Deadmau5 was clearly not impressed as he took to Facebook and Twitter and wrote:
“Very classy there madonna. ‘HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???’ such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra.”
He added, “Quite the f’n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! f*cking cant smack my head hard enough right now.”
However, a lot of people thought his comments were hypocritical considering a lot of Deadmau5′ own fas are hopped up at his concerts. Still, he assured commenters on Twitter that he doesn’t condone or promote drug use like Madonna did:
I have to agree with Deadmau5. Madonna is a role model for tons of young people, so why would she seemingly encourage it? There are too many celebrities who create a poor image just to make a quick buck.
Deadmau5 also took to his blog and clarified why he was upset at the reference. He said everyone can make their own personal decisions when it comes to drug use but that “BIG voices” shouldn’t appeal to today’s young crowd by condoning drugs and should be more responsible for the image they promote.
As he says on his blog: ”Now, weve taken EDM so far in the past decade, so goddamned far. It really hurts me to see rampant ADVOCATION of extreme bullshit lifestyles to a genre that spans pretty much any age gap these days. Of course, ill always have my opinions about this or that… and yeah, its my personal choice not to do drugs, but im not on a fucking crusade to stamp out other peoples personal choices by no means. fuck being a crusader. Im not pro, or anti drug… but… ill easily let you know that im pro-responsibility.”
What do you think? Was it an inappropriate comment for Madonna to make?

It’s kind of strange that Deadmau5 would release a collaboration with My Chemical Romance’s frontman Gerard Way considering what he recently posted on his blog.
Deadmau5 went on his tumblr account and posted a lengthy rant against big name collaborations: “There’s a perfectly valid reason why I don’t usually enjoy the idea of a ‘collaboration’ … All too often, there’s an influx of ‘big names’ that would get thrown around the label from time to time and of course, they fly off the table and out the f**kin’ door faster than they hit my desk. eg. do you want to do a track with big name X, remix huge pop act y, etc etc.” Then he said: “No. I f**king don’t. I really REALLY don’t.”
The track then appeared online this morning but neither Deadmau5 or Gerard Way have confirmed that they are on it. However, a spokesperson for My Chemical Romance told NME that Way does appear on the track.
What do you think of it?
Today, Twitter was harshly divided between those that were doers and those that were feeling a little under the weather. Um, party too much at the Oscars?
First we present Demi Lovato, Ashley Tisdale and Rihanna who are firmly in the stay-under-the-covers camp, though probably for different reasons. While Demi and Rihanna are clearly too tired from the Oscars, Ashley Tisdale is presumably still angry that she wasn’t nominated. Patience Ashley, your day will come. Nicki Minaj was clearly divided from her counterparts. She not only opted to get out of bed and do something, but to make that something drinking margaritas.
Thoughtful insights came from Wiz Khalifa, who wished his mom a happy birthday, and Ryan Seacrest, who is sending a subliminal message to Sacha Baron Cohen. Message: you do not respect me, you are dead to me (okay that might be a stretch). Deadmau5 had my favourite insight of the day because it’s totally true: “How Its Made” segments ALWAYS feature acid clown music. Finally we have Rainn Wilson who dodged a bullet last night. Luckily he caught himself in time before he let himself congratulate the French for The Artist… joking, we love the French!

Next to his gigantic, toothless, black mouse helmet, Deadmau5′s plain black T-shirt didn’t get much special attention at the Grammys last night. But if you looked closer you might have noticed it had a phone number printed across the front — that number belongs to one Sonny More, aka Skrillex.
The electro maestro formerly known as Joel Zimmerman donned the number with the words “U Mad Bro?” beneath it. On Twitter he confirmed the number belonged to his friend and commented on one of his three Grammy wins: “Congrats to @skrillex for the best remix grammy
can’t say I’m not proud!”
Skrillex tried to turn on call-forwarding but Deadmau5 said he was “one step ahead.” And ladies, though his number only leads to a full voicemail inbox, in case you want to give it a go try dialing: (626) 319-1039.

Joel Thomas Zimmerman a.k.a. Deadmau5 had a lot to be happy about. He had his own day declared in Las Vegas, he’s nominated for three Grammys this year and is the first Canadian to ever headline at the Rogers Centre.
The notable electronica musician isn’t always floating on cloud nine. There are days where he connects with his darker side, like he did when he created “Cthulhu Dreams”, his angriest song yet. The name stems from a character in a story story by science-fiction writer H.P. Lovecraft.
“So, i made an angry song. cthulhu’s been sleeping for a while, so i woke him up… just a small iteration of the track i love so much. uploading in a few mins,” he wrote to his fans via Facebook.
The song is set to put you in a trance with its sinister beats and a pulsing bass line. You can stream or download the track Zimmerman wrote in his sleep below.
Deadmau5 is asking his fans to design him a new head, reports CTV.
The Canadian electronic producer, who has a major underground following, has started a contest online to see who can design the best mouse head, which he so famously trademarked.
The contest, which can be viewed here, has some guidelines though. The designs must be original, may be created physically or by using Photoshop, and be 100 per cent creatively controlled by the designer.
The winner and a guest will win 2 VIP passes to a Deadmau5 concert in Los Angeles, with travel and two nights’ accommodation included. The next 10 top submissions will either receive VIP passes as well or official signed merchandise. Either way, pretty sweet deal.
Submissions are accepted until July 12, and fans will be able to vote online to pick a winner, who will be announced August 3.
If you’re creative, love Deadmau5, and love free things, I strongly recommend that you do this. If I could draw or build things, I would totally do it, but I’m limited to stickmen drawings. Good luck to all those who enter.
