When you’re famous, it seems your relevance is determined by how recognizable you are. James Van Der Beek shared the six stages of fame he experienced with Jimmy Kimmel. It started off with people thinking he looked familiar but they’re not sure why. Maybe they went to high school together?
Eventually people learned the name of his show (Dawson’s Creek) and then the name of his character (Dawson). At the height of his fame they could recognize him by his real name, rather than his character.
Unfortunately, it all went downhill from there, when people started to recognize him out of pity: “Dude, you’re Dawson” or they’d misplace him for that guy on Saved By The Bell.
It’s obvious that Van Der Beek has a sense of humour about his level of fame since he plays himself on “Don’t Trust the B**** in Apartment 23.” On the show, Van Der Beek has already reached the little known stage 8 — being a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Canadian heartthrob Joshua Jackson has reportedly reunited with lost love Katie Holmes.
The “Dawson’s Creek” stars had an emotional moment when Jackson visited Holmes at her Broadway show.
“It was really sweet, he just turned up unexpectedly with a bunch of flowers and said: ‘Hello stranger,’” claims a source for the UK Daily Mail. “Katie was shocked, but so happy to see him. It was a wonderful surprise. She gave him such a big hug.”
Jackson is said to be a steadying force for Holmes, as her life becomes more and more of a paparazzi circus. He is currently in a long-term relationship with “Troy” actress Diane Kruger.
