You got to hand it to David Letterman for bringing up Justin Bieber’s paternity test dilemma in a casual way.

When taping a segment on the Late Show with David Letterman, Justin was told his accuser is a weasel. He responded by saying: “I could smell a weasel, too. People make up false accusations… I am 17, but it is going to happen, being in the spotlight.”

David then asked about the paternity test and what kind of samples the doctors took. Justin said he just got his mouth swabbed. Perez Hilton posted the video on his website but you can also view it below.

The Kardashian sisters were on David Letterman last night, where he spent much of the time going over the girls’ body parts.

David showed the x-ray of Kim’s ass and examined it. Khloe said, “that’s all fat” and tried to get some details, asking–bizarrely–”did it hurt?” They also discussed Kourtney’s breast implants.

Cameron Diaz Feeds David Letterman Popcorn A-Rod Style

Remember that photo of Cameron Diaz feeding A-Rod popcorn? It was more or less every man’s dream come true. Cameron Diaz explained what happened last night on “David Letterman.”

She said, “We were watching the game, and I was eating, and I was getting down to, like, the last couple pieces of popcorn, and all of a sudden, I see a hand coming in. And I’m like – anybody who knows me does not put their hand in my food, especially when it’s close to my mouth. And I said, ‘What are you…?’ And then I went, ‘You know what? I love you too much, I’m going to give it to you. You deserve it.’”

Well David Letterman couldn’t help himself, and needed to reenact that very special moment. With a bucket of popcorn and a hot Cameron Diaz, David was instantly hated by every man in the world.

Jon Cryer, star of ‘Two And A Half Men,’ spoke to David Letterman last night about former costar Charlie Sheen’s very public meltdown.

Cryer apparently never saw it coming that Sheen would be fired and embark on a crazy media frenzy.

Even though Sheen has publicly bashed him, calling him a “troll” to the media, Cryer also still considers the troubled actor a “good friend.”

As for Sheen’s new replacement, Ashton Kutcher, Cryer feels confident about the new direction of the show.

“We had a very quick meeting to see if we could deal with each other, and we could,” Cryer told Letterman.

“They threw everything together very quickly and they had to fly us to New York so they could parade us in front of advertisers. And they put us in the CBS corporate jet, which was very snazzy.”

Foo Fighters Go Beatles At Ed Sullivan Theatre

Foo Fighters celebrated the release of their new album Wasting Light by paying homage to the Beatles historical debut and playing the album from front to back.

The nearly two hour performance showcases Dave Grohl and company in Beatles-esque suits with Taylor Hawkin’s kick drum in Beatles font. The Fab Four poses and head shakes are perfected by the band and they commit to it so much to broadcast the first half of the show in black-and-white.

For those that aren’t following, the Beatles were a British band from the 1960s that had some good songs and significantly changed music. In 1964, they made their American television debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Playing fiercly through Wasting Light in its entirety and bringing out a parade of radio hits, including “Everlong” and “All My Life”, the Foos appear to be in their prime. In fact, the new album has been deemed as their best album in years by many critics including Rolling Stone.

James Franco Responds to Oscar Criticism

We’ve all heard what Twitter, Facebook and essentially every other news source has had to say about James Franco’s hosting duties at this year’s Oscar ceremonies.

Everyone thought he had pulled a Pineapple Express. Was he stoned?

This Friday on CBS’s Late Night with David Letterman, we’ll hear what Franco himself has to say.

Letterman, 63, received some heavy criticism after his 1995 Oscar appearance also.

“I was so bad that they talked for a while about shutting down the motion picture industry. … I was God awful,” recalls Letterman. However, 32-year-old Franco one-uped the late-night King by arguing that nobody accused him of being on drugs.

“They didn’t say you were stoned,” Franco says. “People said I was under the influence.” He compared his stoner-demeaner to his co-host Anne Hathaway’s over energetic display of musical-child-syndrome.

“I think the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned standing next to Anne. She has a lot of energy!,” says Franco. “I haven’t watched it back yet. Maybe I had low energy? I honestly played those lines as well as I could.”

Following this year’s Oscars, part of the criticism noted that Franco’s over-exhaustion in taking on more than is humanly capable is not an excuse to justify his lacklustre performance. Critics felt that he should have taken the gig more seriously than he did.

“I never dreamed of being, like, the best Oscar host ever,” he says on Friday night’s episode. “It was never on my list of things to do. It doesn’t mean I didn’t care and it doesn’t mean I didn’t try hard, right?”

Letterman reassures Franco through his classic wizardry of words, ”There will be, I think for you, a modicum of embarrassment, which you shouldn’t feel. That will pass. You’ll go into a period of numbness, and then you’ll become rightly defiant.”

David Letterman Apologizes to Lindsay Lohan for Mix Up

Last night on “The Late Show”, David Letterman issued an apology to Lindsay Lohan for a hoax that caused him to believe that Lohan was going to do tomorrow’s “Top Ten” list.

As reported by Gossipcop.com, after Sunday’s Grammy Awards Letterman joked about “Lohan stealing a Grammy award,” which poked fun at Lohan regarding her pending trial for stealing jewelry. Afterwards he received a call from an unknown man who claimed to be Lohan’s friend saying, “Lindsay thought that joke was hilarious… She wants to be on your show.” Letterman was thrilled and called CBS’ publicity department to issue a press release.

When Lohan received the news she said that this information was false. Letterman apologized to Lohan and her family for the confusion.

Poor Lindsay, more bad press…

Joaquin Phoenix Apologizes to David Letterman

A year after appearing on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” Joaquin Phoenix returned to the show to apologize for his last awkward appearance on the program.

“I mean, I think that you’ve interviewed many, many people and I assumed that you would know the difference between a character and a real person,” he says about the now-infamous 2009 interview. “I hope I didn’t offend you in any way.”

It all turned out to be an act, as Director Cassey Affleck recently revealed Joaquin’s new documentary, “I’m Still Here.”

“Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no,” Letterman told him. “I’m telling you, it was so much fun. It was batting practice, you know what I mean? Every one of them was a dinger.”

Casey Affleck Reveals the Truth about Joaquin Phoenix

You probably remember the appearance that Joaquin Phoenix made on the Late Show with David Letterman last year. Phoenix came on the show wearing dark sunglasses and rocking a shaggy beard. His weird look was then only emphasized by how he acted—and apparently it was an act. The uninterested answers and the declaration he made about entering the hip-hop music industry were completely fake.

Casey Affleck, who directed the film I’m Still Here, which supposedly documents Joaquin Phoenix’s life for the past two years, says that almost every part of it was an act. “It’s a terrific performance, it’s the performance of his career,” Affleck told the New York Times.

The film was released last week and faced some big criticism and its credibility was attacked, prompting Affleck to speak out about the film.

“I never intended to trick anybody,” he said. “The idea of a quote, hoax, unquote, never entered my mind.”

I’m Still Here definitely has the elements of a hoax though—a lot of significant scenes in the “documentary” include actors playing different parts, including Phoenix’s family and prostitutes.

Jay Leno Posts The Lowest Ratings Since 1992 – Will Conan O’Brien Have The Last Laugh?

Maybe NBC made a mistake? Perhaps Jay Leno isn’t a sure ratings success? And maybe they should have given Conan O’Brien some more time to build the show?

With only six months back hosting “The Tonight Show,” the ratings have been very disappointing for Jay Leno, reports Variety. In the second quarter of this year, the average total audience declined from 5 million viewers last year to 4 million viewers. This is also notable considering Jay had a number of high profile guests, including President Barack Obama.

With that being said, Jay is still beating his arch nemesis David Letterman in the ratings. But with Conan O’Brien’s debut at TBS coming soon, and with so much public support for Conan, it maybe Conan O’Brien who has the last laugh.

David Letterman Ready to Put the Pieces Back Together

After the shocking truths about his sex scandal surfaced last year, David Letterman is ready to rebuild his marriage with wife Regina.

The Late Show host’s marriage and image was very publicly put through some rough times late last year when a sex scandal and extortion plot involving Letterman sleeping with coworkers broke. Letterman is, however, ready to put things back together, or at least try.

As E! Online reports David Letterman made an appearance on Live! With Regis and Kelly and spoke about life at home and the struggle to repair a situation that has gone down the drain. Letterman’s personal life has been quiet as of the past little while, but appearing on the popular talk show this morning, Letterman spoke about the current state of his relationship.

Though the time was mostly filled with quips and typically light material, at the end of the interview Regis Philbin asked Letterman a question about how life at home was, which sparked a heart-felt answer.

First acknowledging the past, Letterman said, “You know when something like this happens—and mostly it was reckless behaviour on my part—and if you behave recklessly and it hurts your family, well then of course it hurts you.”

The late night star seemed to be genuinely hurt by the whole ordeal and, as the rest of the interview suggested, ready to start over. He compared his life to a bomb exploding but remained optimistic that he would be able to put the pieces back together.

“It was stupid behaviour. You take a look at the explosion and it knocks you down, and you wake up every morning and you’re scared and you’re depressed and sad and you kind of gotta let that knock you down…and pretty soon you’ve gotta start knocking it down.”

“And then when that happens, you’re able to take a look at the pieces left of your life, because you think an explosion has taken place, and you’re looking at the shards and you see, well, can we put this back together? And by god, maybe you can put it back together, and maybe it won’t be the same, but maybe it’ll be different—maybe it can even be better in a different way.”

Letterman seems to have just a vague idea of what to expect in the future for his personal life, but kudos to him for keeping a positive outlook on the situation.

Though he has talked about the scandal previously on his own show, this morning marks the first time he has publically addressed the matters outside of the Late Show studio.

Without a focus on being funny, appearing on Live! With Regis and Kelly gave Letterman the chance to deliver his message: He is hopeful and starting to rebuild his relationship with wife Regina.

Letterman also thanked his friends, Philbin included, for supporting him through this time.

Amanda Peet Gives Birth To Girl but Misses David Letterman Appearance

It’s not a good idea to stand someone up, especially David Letterman, but Amanda Peet has a valid reason. She gave birth to a baby girl.

PEOPLE reports that Peet unexpectedly went into labour on Tuesday, missing her scheduled appearance on David Letterman to promote her new movie “Please Give.” This is the second child for Peet and her screenwriter husband David Benioff.

“Mother and daughter are doing great,” Peet’s rep told the website.

Jay Leno Reclaims Old Position at NBC’s “Tonight Show”

Jay Leno has been missing from TV screens across the world for just over three weeks now. And Monday, he will reappeared, reports the CBC.

Nine-teen days ago, NBC cancelled Leno’s own prime-time show. It has also been nine months since Leno has given up his position at the “Tonight Show,” to Conan O’Brien. But now, Leno is back to reclaim his old position on the “Tonight Show.”

Since Leno is back, the late-night war once again begins with CBS opponent David Letterman. Letterman dominated the ratings during O’Brien’s brief appearance as the “Tonight Show” host.

But, Leno ruled the late night for much of the 17 years he was with the “Tonight Show,” and NBC is hoping that he will be comfortable in his desk chair, once again.

Handicappers are already wondering if Leno can recapture the same momentum he used to have on the show. It will be hard for Leno to do so since he left last May in favour of O’Brien and was just so recently cancelled by NBC.

As for O’Brien, he could possibly be placed on the FOX network, where he would enter in the late-night war with Letterman and Leno.

NBC now needs something to new to brag about, with the Winter Olympics now in the past. Leno, once again hosting the “Tonight Show” might just do the trick.

Leno’s guests included Jamie Foxx, Olympic gold medal skier Lindsey Vonn and singer-songwriter Brad Paisley. Letterman will battle back with Bill Murray and rap star Ludacris.

You can catch Leno’s “The Tonight Show” at 11:35 p.m. Eastern time, along with the “Late Show with David Letterman.” Let the late-night battle begin.

Although the episode won’t air until Friday, their publicist had no comment at this time and the couple have yet to post anything on Twitter.

David Letterman Extortionist Wants a Deal

The extortionist in the David Letterman blackmail case wants a deal. Perezhilton.com reports that Robert Halderman has offered to take a sentence of 1 year (opposed to 15 years) for a plea of guilty. In case you don’t remember, Robert Halderman attempted to blackmail Letterman for $2 million dollars as he was threatening to produce a screenplay based on Letterman’s sexual affairs with female staff employees.

Halderman is currently out on $200,000 bail. He claims that he needed the money to see his son who had moved to Colorado with his ex-wife.

A representative for the host of Late Show with David Letterman says National Enquirer reports that David Letterman’s wife kicked him out of their Westchester mansion are false, reports TMZ. The Enquirer stated, following the highly-publicized extortion/affair scandal involving Letterman, he has moved to a loft in Manhattan.

“The National Enquirer has it wrong,” said Letterman’s representative.

Holly Hester, who was an intern for David Letterman on The Late Show with David Letterman in the early 1990s, claims to have had a series of secret dates with the host. Letterman, now 62, and Hester, a student at New York University at the time, kept their relationship secret from the rest of the staff on the show, reports TMZ.

“I was madly in love with him at the time,” Hester said. “I would have married him. He was hilarious.” She says Letterman ended the relationship after a year citing the age difference between the pair.

Letterman has not commented on the allegations.

Perez Hilton reports The Late Show with David Letterman has beaten The Tonight Show in ratings for four consecutive weeks. This is the first time in a decade that Letterman has stayed above the competition for so long.

Letterman has been hosting the show since 1993, while Conan O’Brien, the new host of The Tonight Show, only just took over for Jay Leno in June.

The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, which follows Letterman on CBS, has scored higher ratings than NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for three weeks running.

David Letterman tied the knot for the second time on Thursday afternoon- this time around with longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko, in a simple courthouse ceremony.

According to E! News, the couple- who’ve been together for 23 years with a 5-year-old son named Harry- made it official at the Teton County Courthouse in Choteau, Montana.

“Regina and I began dating in February of 1986, and I said, ‘Well, things are going pretty good, let’s just see what happens in about 10 years,” said Letterman. “I had avoided getting married pretty good for, like, 23 years, and I—honestly, whether this happened or not—I secretly felt that men who were married admired me…like I was the last of the real gunslingers, you know what I’m saying?”

The 61-year-old Late Show host is planning to announce the big news on tonight’s episode (March. 23rd, 2009), where he’ll receive congratulations from guests Hugh Laurie and Sarah Paulson.

This is the second marriage for Letterman, who spent nine years with Michelle Cook before divorcing in 1978.

Seinfeld and Wife Sued Over Heated Cook Book Battle

A heated cook book debate just got a lot more unappetizing, as Jerry Seinfeld and his wife were sued yesterday.

Missy Chase Lapine has accused Jerry Seinfeld’s wife, Jessica, of “brazenly” plagiarizing from her recipe book, “The Sneaky Chef.” Mrs. Seinfeld’s book, entitled “Deceptively Delicious,” was released six months after Lapine’s. Both are collections of recipes that hide healthy ingredients in meals for children.

Mr. Seinfeld was included in the lawsuit for defamation of character. When reports first surfaced of the commonalities of the two books, Mr. Seinfeld made comments about Lapine being a “wacko” while on the David Letterman show. Seinfeld called Lapine “angry” and “hysterical,” compared her to Letterman’s past stalkers, and noted she is a “three-name woman… if you read history, many of the three-name people do become assassins.”

Lapine’s 19-page filing seeks unspecified damages.
