Florence + the Machine Covers Drake’s ‘Take Care’

Florence Welch seems to really love our homeboy, Drake.

The Toronto rapper and the flame-haired English songstress was flirted with a collaboration in the past but nothing came of of it – yet! Both have released highly-anticipated albums in the last few weeks and I smell a duet in the near distance.

During a performance on BBC Radio 1, Florence + the Machine created a divine rendition of Drake’s song “Take Care”. When Florence sings, angels get their wings. The cover stripped most of the hip-hop elements and traded it in for beautiful string arrangements.

It’s a moving performance from Florence Welch. Check out the video below.

Demi Lovato Covers ‘Moves Like Jagger’

Demi Lovato is sure making Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera look like chumps as she does a sweet rendition of their hit “Moves Like Jagger”.

Demi spent last night in Detroit, Michigan and halfway through her set she performed this radio-friendly track. She was dressed like a Grecian goddess and backup dancers performed behind her.

Normally, singers go old-school with their cover selections but it’s refreshing to see Demi cover something very current and buzzworthy. Who knows, maybe Aguilera will return the favour and cover Demi’s song Skyscraper some day soon.

BooBoo Stewart Shows Off Abs

BooBoo Stewart is showing off his abs in the upcoming issue of Troix Magazine.

The 17 year old actor had the photo shoot in the haunted Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles.

On Sunday, BooBoo also received the Rising Star Award at the 17th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival.

Joe Jonas Covers Chris Brown

Joe Jonas played to a packed house Saturday in Toronto (and we interviewed him – it will be posted soon) where he did a cover of Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.”

Joe Jonas looked pretty buff singing the song, and also threw some roses into the crowd of screaming girls.

Chris worked on Joe’s first solo single “See No More” which dropped June. 3.

Lady Gaga Graces Cover of Bazaar

Lady Gaga graces the cover of October’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and she does it without makeup. This is apparently the first black and white cover Bazaar has published in 20 years.

The magazine talks with Gaga about managing public expectations and her diet.

”Don’t you think that what’s on the cover of a magazine is quite artificial?” she asks.

“There’s this idea that it’s all natural, but everything’s been staged to look natural. It is also an invention. It’s just that my inventions are different,” she elaborates. ”I often get asked about my artifice, but isn’t fashion based on the idea that we can create a fantasy?”

And how does Gaga stay in shape?

“I do yoga, I do Bikram and I run, and I eat really healthy. You know, my work sort of feeds me. I keep in shape by working hard.”

Bob Dylan Covers Rebecca Black’s ‘My Moment’

This is an awesome joke and proof that any song can sound decent if sung with talent. Legendary singer “Bob Dylan” has covered Rebecca Black’s “My Moment.”

“You knew it all along, I was afraid of you,” sings Bob; “Thought I couldn’t be myself, you tried to be my friend.”

Nobody can say Black’s song is the greatest lyrics ever, but they sound pretty cool coming from this Bob alike.

Miley Cyrus Wins Worst Cover Prize

Not the most flattering award, but her cover of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” has been voted the “Worst Cover Song of All Time”.

The poll was conducted by Rolling Stone which asked readers to vote.

On her last tour, Miley said about Nirvana ”I want to play a song by one of the artists that inspired me. Without them I wouldn’t be here.

“They are the ones who gave me the strength and courage to do this. I hope I can be that person for you guys.”

Lady Gaga’s fashion sense is, well, lets just say “unique.” One of her most outrageous outfits to date would have to be the meat dress she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. Well guess what, she’s topped that one!

People reports that Gaga is disguised as Jo Calderon who is “a male alter-ego creation of Gaga” thanks to stylist Nicola Formichetti.

The picture is a cover for Gaga’s latest single, You and I.

Her inspiration for the look: “You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don’t love yourself. #You&ISingleCover” she said via Twitter.

Maybe she’s trying to find the man in herself? Who knows.

New Blink-182 Album ‘Neighborhoods’

Blink-182 album cover for “Neighborhoods” has been partially released. This is the first album in eight years, and their sixth studio album. The new album drops on September 27.

The album cover is being released online in sections. Yesterday Buzznet released one portion of the cover, and Idolator released a second piece today. A third piece will debut tomorrow.

Katy Perry graces the cover of Rolling Stone, where she shows off her Hershey Kisses boobs. The issue hits stands June 24.

In the interview Perry reveals she has undergone a political transformation.

“It just feels like the thing running our country is a bank, money,” she says. “I know it sounds like an intense viewpoint, but I’m only slowly but surely getting the wool taken off my eyes. When I was a kid, I asked questions about my faith. Now I’m asking questions about the world.”

She continues: “I think we are largely in desperate need of revolutionary change in the way our mindset is. Our priority is fame, and people’s wellness is way low. I saw this knowing full well that I’m a part of the problem. I’m playing the game, though I am trying to reroute. Anyway, not to get all politically divulging and introspective, but the fact that America doesn’t have free health care drives me fucking absolutely crazy, and is so wrong.”

Weezer Covers Radiohead’s ‘Paranoid Android’

Weezer has covered Radiohead’s iconic song ‘Paranoid Android,’ Billboard reveals.

The in-studio cover isn’t the first time Weezer has covered the band’s songs. They’ve performed other classics like ‘Creep’ before, and decided to take it one step further by recording a full-out studio version.

I love, love, love this song, so I enjoy hearing any cover of it. I think Weezer succeeded into take the song and making it their own, by switching up lyrics and instrumental here and there. Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer, definitely has the voice to pull it off. Great song, great cover.

Glee will cover Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’

You may have thought that several weeks after going viral, Rebecca Black would be edging back into the obscurity from which she came, but it seems as though the teenage singing phenomenon isn’t going anywhere just yet.

CNN reports that the 13-year-old singer, who was widely criticized for the heavy use of auto-tune and the awkward music video for her song ‘Friday,’ will have the YouTube hit covered by the cast of Glee on an upcoming episode of the Fox series.

But don’t expect the likes of Rachel Berry or Mercedes Jones to sing the viral tune. Even though the video depicted Black painting the town red with her female friends, the ladies of Glee won’t be the ones singing her song. Instead, Gleeks can expect the boys, Artie, Sam and Puck to get down with Black’s tune.

And if one cover wasn’t enough for you, three of the voices behind Glee‘s Warbler’s team, also spoke to Celebuzz about doing singing a Rebecca Black original. President Eli Seidman, business manager Evan Powell and historian Kent McCann, gushed (?) about the lyrical work of art.

“I will hereby go on record saying that that is just a masterpiece,” said Powell. “I don’t know what thought process went through her head, well that’s mean I shouldn’t say that.”

“I keep singing it even though I don’t want to, ” said Seidman, “I’m sure that song is playing on the way to hell, just blasting.”

“I feel kind of bad for her, she’s famous because she sucks,” said McCann.

“The problem is, it’s hard to touch perfection, ” added Powell. “Everything about it, it’s like fine art, it should be hung in a museum.”

Okay, so maybe they weren’t gushing, but what does Rebecca Black care? The singer has already endured a number of scalding criticisms, and will finally end the roller coaster ride that is ‘Friday,’ on a gleeful note.

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon posed completely nude on the cover of OK! Magazine. Do we really need to see this?

As you can see in the photo Mariah definitely has quite a baby bump, and “thanks” to Nick Cannon for shielding her breasts. Here’s hoping this baby pops soon. But nevertheless, even for a pregnant woman, Mariah still looks good.

Too good for Nick Cannon, but that’s another story.

Arkansas Supermarket Covers Up Magazine Cover of Elton John and Family

Wow, maybe some of the stereotypes of the South being racists and sexists are not so inaccurate. An Arkansas Supermarket in Mountain View, AK has placed a “family shield” over the Us Weekly cover of Elton John with his partner David Furnish and their new baby.

Gawker reports the move was done by the Harps food chain to “protect innocent children.” However the chain has recently removed the cover. Harps President explained in a statement that it was not their intention to offend anybody, but the shield was placed after the store manager received some complaints.

We wonder what those store patrons think when they see an interracial married couple on the front of a magazine?

Kate Gosselin is on the cover of People which hits newsstands Friday, and she is showing quite a bit of skin, posing in a bikini.

The mother of eight tells People she credits her amazing physique to her daily runs outside her Pennsylvania home.

“I’ve worked really hard!” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “Haven’t I earned the right, at this point, to look good?

Gosselin also talks about the rumours she is romantically involved with her bodyguard, saying “It’s just absurd.”

For popping out eight kids, starring in a reality show and having a douchebag ex-husband, she looks pretty damn good!

Lindsay Lohan Left Out of ‘Mean Girls’ Nintendo Game Cover

What an ego blow this must be. Although Lindsay Lohan was the star of “Mean Girls” she has been curiously left off the cover for the upcoming Nintendo DS game, reports popeater.com. Instead the cover just features Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried, who played the trio of super-popular girls known as “the plastics.”

According to a description of the game found onGameStop.com, ‘Mean Girls’ will “follow the misadventures of Cady from Jingle Bell Rock to the School Prom.”

Now all this begs the question, “Why was she left off the cover?” Do marketers see her image as so tarnished that she could potentially hinder sales of the game? Undoubtedly the recent stories in the tabloids about her out of control personal life have not helped the young Hollywood star. Additionally she has released only seven films to mass audiences since ‘Mean Girls,’ and nothing since the 2008 bomb ‘Chapter 27,’ which grossed a mere $56,215 according to Box Office Mojo.

So this recent event is only one more knock against Lindsay. At least she has nowhere else to go but up.

Jessica Simpson Goes Natural for Marie Claire Magazine Cover

Jessica Simpson went makeup-less and photoshop-less for a recent cover shoot of Marie-Claire magazine.

This move by Simpson aligns with her natural beauty mantra. It also fits well for her new VH1 show “The Price of Beauty.” Quite frankly we don’t think she looks bad – she looks like a real person.

Jessica suffered through a weight controversy last year which changed her view on her appearance. “I don’t have anything to prove anymore,” she told the mag. “What other people think of me is not my business.”

Playboy Gets First Cartoon Covergirl

Marge Simpson is about to become the first cartoon character to grace the cover of Playboy, reports CBC. Simpson will be featured in the November issue of the magazine, which hits newsstands next Friday.

The magazine reports a three-page spread will “imply nudity,” but the matriarch won’t bare all.

Scott Flanders, the new chief executive at Playboy, says he hopes the move attracts more readers in their 20s. Currently, the average reader’s age is 35.
