Robert Pattinson must have expected the obligatory, intrusive breakup questions when he appeared on Jon Stewart last night but according to The Daily Show host everything is less scary when you have the ultimate breakup remedy on hand — a carton of ice cream and a spoon.
The Twilight and Cosmopolis star joked about not knowing how to deal with slightly intimidating questions about his scandalous breakup with Kristen Stewart, who “had a moment of indiscretion” cheated on him with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. ”God, I thought we already prepared this. I had a joke prepared!” he told Stewart. “I was all set up and ready to go.”
You have to give Pattinson some credit. For an actor who’s already quite reserved awkward in interviews it must be tough for him to handle such personal questions.
Luckily Stewart had some helpful breakup advice for RPatz: “last time I had a bad breakup, Ben & Jerry’s got me through some of the tougher times. So I thought you and I could bond over this and talk about ‘boy, you are better off, kick her to the curb.”
Watch it here:

While Rob Pattinson has proven himself to be more of a serious actor in the upcoming film Cosmopolis, there’s one thing he won’t do for the camera.
When asked by director David Cronenberg to display his man parts, Pattinson drew the line.
“Five minutes before we filmed, David told me, ‘I want to see the bottom of your balls on the top of the frame,’” Rob said to Metro France about shooting Cosmopolis. “At the moment, I reminded myself that I would do anything for him. I went back to see him and told him that wouldn’t happen.”
And somewhere out there, Twi-hards and Rob Pattinson fans may have just died a little inside.
While I support Rob and his decision to not go nude for the sake of an art film, I have to remind him that Michael Fassbender went all out in Shame and was critically acclaimed.
A thought for the future maybe?
As reported by TheWrap.com, Twilight heartthrob, Robert Pattinson is set to star in Toronto filmmaker, David Cronenberg’s new film, Cosmopolis.
The film is said to be a study of capitalism in a slightly futuristic metropolis. The film will star Pattinson playing Eric Packer, a young financial genius and risk taker who stakes his entire fortune on a dangerous trading day. The decision turns ugly and he becomes a possible assassination target during a 24-hour adventure through Manhattan. The film will also star Marion Cotillard and Paul Giamatti.
Cronenberg can be seen walking the streets of Toronto. Does this mean that Pattinson may too be walking them soon? Cronenberg has filmed in Toronto for the majority of his movies like Videodrome and Crash. Toronto is often used as a New York City stand in, so perhaps he will stay in Toronto to film Cosmopolis. One can only hope.
However, we may see a certain increase of paparazzi and screaming 13-year-old girls running around Toronto if word does get out that Pattinson is in town.
