Kanye West may be a bit of a controversial figure in pop culture. But while he’s known for interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMAs to his very public relationship with Kim Kardashian, one really can’t deny this man’s creativity and talent .
The rapper took an innovative turn last night (May 17) to show off his new video “New Slaves” in 66 different buildings around the world.
Announcing the move on Twitter, he wrote, “NEW SONG AND VISUAL FROM MY NEW ALBUM BEING PROJECTED TONIGHT ACROSS THE GLOBE ON 66 BUILDINGS, LOCATIONS @ http://KANYEWEST.COM.”
On the site, there was an interactive map listing the cities, times and specific locations the video would premiere. These places included major cities like Toronto, Paris, New York City, London and Sydney.
Too sick. I wish I was there to witness this in my home city of TORONTO!!!
When it comes to cool viral videos you can always count on Lego, and in this latest video it’s all about “Bond. James Bond.” (Sorry. I had to.)
Recreating the opening scene to Casino Royale, CocoSnowBall shows us how the scene would look if it was made out of Lego pieces, and the end result is pretty awesome. Using stop-motion animation, the video opens up just like the live sequence, with a car pulling up to a dark and sketchy building in Prague and 007 in a confrontation that leads up to an action-packed scene.
What’s great about the video, aside from the Lego factor, is that they chose to use the actual dialogue from the movie rather than dubbing in the voices themselves. This video deserves major points for creativity.
When it comes to fashion, there are always new and wacky ideas coming out, but this one might just be brilliant: a jacket made up of sewn together Ziploc bags.
Just for the convenience alone, this is a pretty awesome idea. Think about how much more room you can get out of your bag by not having to keep your lunch and snacks in there. You could wear another jacket on top and sneak in your own snacks into a movie theater. Or make it a bit longer and you got yourself a great raincoat to keep you dry. My one concern would be zipping it up. Would you use the Ziploc bags with double zipper to make closing your jacket easier? What if you accidentally sewed the bag upside down? Then everything will come spilling out! AH! NO! NOT MY PRECIOUS M&M’S!
Either way it looks cool and is pretty darn inventive.
Rich and Laura Howard were probably hoping for a quiet day out on the sea to help celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. What they got instead was the experience of a lifetime as a pair of killer whales began to follow in their wake. The two whales playfully jump in and out of the water. Or maybe they’re chasing them in revenge. Maybe they’re having a “my name is Inigo Montoya. Prepare to die” moment and we’ve just interpreted everything wrong. Seriously, what have we done to the whales now?!
Anyways, while the whales are super dope to watch, just remember to turn the volume down — the lady filming gets a case of the lonely “woo!” girl and start yelling every time a whale jumps out of the water.
While the 80s called and wanted their clothes back, this has got to be the coolest drunken dance move I’ve ever seen.
If he dances this good when he’s drunk, what will he be like when he’s ACTUALLY SOBER?
This insanely fast gymnastic routine can’t be real, right? BECAUSE IT’S BLOWING MY MIND!
Amanda Bynes didn’t quite go full Britney Spears circa 2007 as she shaved off half of her hair, revealing her new do on Twitter. The star cited R&B singer Cassie as the inspiration.
While I love Cassie’s hair do, Bynes, on the other hand, went from looking like a taller, blonder Snooki to um, the Barbie doll that became a victim to one of my unfortunate hair cutting schemes. For the record, I was seven-years-old when I “trimmed” one side of Barbie’s head.
Okay, fine. It’s not that bad. She kind of looks like Miley Cyrus in one blurry TwitPic:

While I also know it’s not my place, I can’t help but hope that this last year is really some sort of weird performance art piece, à la Joaquin Phoenix. She went so far and made me kind of proud that she wasn’t one of those celebrities who let fame knock her off of the rails. Oh, Amanda Bynes. The real Amanda Bynes, please come back to us soon.
Well, prepare for your life to be FOREVER CHANGED.
In this completely unnecessary (but kinda cool) video, this Japanese man demonstrates how one can filter water out of your Coca Cola.
Isn’t that trippy?!
According to YouTuber maho koyama, the explanation of the man gives at the end is: “After filtration, it doesn’t have flavor of coke anymore, but it does taste sugary water.”
From Gollum impressions to mash ups, you’d think we’ve seen it all when it comes to music covers.
But lo, this guy proves us wrong as he creates an a cappella cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Wayfaring Stranger.” Unlike other a cappella covers floating around the internet, he uses the iPhone app Voice Jam to layer vocals in real time, as opposed to recording them separately to edit them together later.
It’s a pretty amazing feat. Can’t wait to see his imitators try to top that.

Is Willy Wonka behind this?
Stuart Edge may have actually found a way to get girls to kiss him using magic tricks.
Let’s get this straight: unless you’re living in Hogwarts, magic tricks aren’t really the most impressive thing a guy could do to win over a girl. But Stuart Edge may have actually found a way to get girls to kiss him using magic tricks.
In the description, Edge says he’ll do a tutorial if the video reaches 1 million views. So guys, if you finally want to be able to impress girls with a magic trick (or at the very least get a kiss out of it), you might as well start hitting replay now.
It’s a me, Mario.
When RyanTcone posted a response to “Find a way to make these canned foods look good” on reddit, I don’t think anyone saw this coming.
In his post he says, “I think this is a mission accomplished,” and we couldn’t agree more.
This 3D Mario canned food display is currently standing in the middle of South Centre Mall in Calgary. I didn’t realize how badly this needed to exist until I saw the picture. Somebody definitely has a lot of time on their hands, but I’m not sure it’s time wasted. This is pretty cool. I now feel the strong urge to go play Mario Party…does that still exist?
It’s time for someone to take on the mission of making a 3D Luigi kraft canned food display to stand beside Mario. If not that, someone should create a canned display of a whole level of Mario Party. Nothing’s impossible.

Have you ever played with a remote controlled airplane? It’s pretty fun trying to make it zoom everywhere while also trying to avoid crashing it or getting it stuck on a tree. But after a while, you might get bored with it and do something else. I mean, what else is there to do? Make a choreographic routine, of course!
There’s even a competition where people can enter to showcase their skills. This one contestant showed his skills to the form of a classical piece, and he has lights on the airplane and everything. It’s pretty mesmerizing. I was literally intrigued the whole time, wondering how long it took him to practice, and frankly how he had the time to do it.

Animator Adam Brown brings us a taste of what it would be like if Calvin and Hobbes became a TV show. Brown based his 28 second video on the cartoon strip above.
While it was only an experiment of sorts, would a real Calvin and Hobbes television show be too much to ask for? Because I would watch this every Saturday morning with a bowl of cereal in hand. We need good Saturday morning cartoons back on TV. Stat.
YouTuber Jeff Wysaski (a.k.a. pleatedjeans) wonder what would happen if he were different animals.
While he jumps into a box as a cat (accurate!), is scared of a vacuum as a dog, and runs into a window as a fly, no animal is left behind. He even shows just how sad being a t-rex would be as he tries his best to reach for that damn bottle of coke. Those damn short arms of theirs!

Today would’ve been the 85th birthday of the one and only Mr. Rogers. To celebrate author John Green tells you 35 facts of our favourite cardigan-wearing children’s television host. For example, did you know every single one of Mr. Rogers sweater was knitted by his mother?
Cheers to you, Mr. Rogers.
Crowd sourcing has become an efficient means fund a number of different projects — be it medical bills, video games or a Veronica Mars movie. Now you and your friends can pitch in to make a favourite t-shirt design into a reality with TeePublic.
Launched by Josh Abramson (co-founder of College Humor and Vimeo), TeePublic is making it easier for graphic designers to finally see their designs on a t-shirt. The way it works is anyone can upload their designs and if 30 people in a month (that’s one person a day) agrees to buy your shirt, the company will put it into production and with every shirt sold, $5 per shirt goes back to the designer.
Considering just how creative the internet gets (have you seen the sloth photos?), here are just some of our favourite shirts so far on TeePublic:
1. Best Buds by CorwinWebb

2. STAY CLASSY by jordansoliz

3. RASCAL by Keddie
Are you sick of Justin Timberlake yet?
“NO,” said everyone on the planet.
Ending his crazy, packed week with featured appearances on SNL and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake treated his fans with the fourth round of History of Rap with his partner in crime Fallon.
Covering the likes of Biggie, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z and Eminem, you can be sure that EPIC-ness ensued.
So instead of seeing me blab on about how amazing this is, just watch.
Hey, Andrew Garfield! We all know you’re filming the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man so we have to ask: is this your stunt double? If not, why isn’t he?
It’s not to say the wire work your current stunt guy is probably doing isn’t impressive already, but this, this is just really cool. Just watch as he flies across the air, doing moves that wouldn’t be out of place in the cartoons themselves.
The only thing missing, though, are the jokes. The best part about the current Spider-Man is that he’s actually funny. We need a little sass every now and again from the guy who seems to have the world on his shoulders.
New Kids On The Block just released their music video for “Remix (I Like The).”
The video is set at a summer party, complete with a live band and people making small talk with one another. There’s always that one awkward person who is sitting on the couch, by themselves, eating whatever’s on the table.
So what happens if that wallflower decides to break out? That’s what happens in the video. We see the wallflower, portrayed by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Artemis Pebdani, breaking out and going wild, basically taking the party with her. She’s pretty much looks like you whenever you’re home alone listening to this some dope music (or is this just me?).
Fangirling over their looks? Check. Synchronized boy band moves? Check. Synchronized swimming? Check. This video pretty much has all the elements of a good boy band video!
