Conrad Murray Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Posted by Natalia Buia on November 29th, 2011

Judge Michael Pastor has just sentenced Doctor Conrad Murray with the maximum sentence – four years – for the death of Michael Jackon.

TMZ dished all the details about the sentence hearing. Apparently, Murray will do time in an L.A. county jail, and so the site thinks he’ll just end up doing half the time.

TMZ also says Murray must pay an $800 fine, a $30 court security fee, and a $40 criminal conviction assessment.  In addition, he must pay “appropriate restitution” to Michael Jackson’s estate and close family, I ‘m assuming his kids.

What was appreciated in the tense courtroom today was the Judge’s opinion on all the backlash (not to mention death threats) the doctor’s been recieving.

“There are those who feel Dr. Murray is a saint.  There are those who feel he’s the devil.  He is neither.  He’s a human being,” the Judge said.

Alas, this aggravating trial has finally come to an end and the Jackson family can finally be at peace.

Michael Jackson’s Death Bed For Sale

Posted by @coltondaniel on November 9th, 2011

Days after Dr. Conrad Murray failed as a smooth criminal (get it?), many the King of Pop’s assets have shown up in auction houses including the bed that he died in.

Yes, this would be the famous bed on the second-floor bedroom that Murray should have taken Jackson from to perform CPR in 2009. On Monday, Murray was convicted on manslaughter after the emotionally exploited six-week trail. It was concluded that the doctor administered a fatal dose of Propofol to the highest amount.

It is up for grabs in an auction of property from Jackson’s final residence, there is also a variety of creepy (but timeless) pop-memorabilia. Included is a letter written on a chalkboard to Jackson from his kids, which reads “I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it’s for free.” There is a bunch of fancy, pricey paintings by the likes of Maurice Utrillo and Henri Rousseau set to be auctioned as well. You can pretty much weigh how expensive a painting will be by the degree of difficulty it takes to pronounce the artist’s name.

The Holmby Hills mansion is currently up for sale also and it is expected to sell for somewhere around $18 million.

Auctioneer Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions said, “We want to preserve the history of these items.”

The Alternative Press reports that Jackson’s mother, Katherine, is aware of the auction and has “done everything we can to ascertain that items from this address are not being auctioned using Michael’s name and likeness to enhance the items’ value.”

Too late.

The auction is scheduled to take place from December 12-17 at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills. Start saving.
