While silly cat videos and epic fails have their LOL moments, many videos on the internet have a whole other side that’s magical and inspiring. Imagine a wakeboarder doing a flawless midair jump in slow motion with the soft waves rolling behind him. Dancers strapped in LED lights doing parkour through a night market. Two adorable twin babies nodding their heads to their dad’s guitar. This compilation mashes together the very best of the internet from 2012 and it makes me want to take up some extreme sport and be all badass.
Here’s your daily pick-me-up: An entire compilation devoted to Ellen Degeneres laughing. To celebrate her 1600th show, the talk show host re-laughed at some of the best unexpected moments of her cracking up. You have to stick around to the end to see the woman who’s so afraid of falling into Ellen’s dunk tank that she makes the weirdest/best squeals of life.

This “ExtremeLation” compilation posted on CompilarizTV showcases some of the most impressive athletes in extreme sports. While part of it makes me feel totally inferior with my lack of coordination, flexibility and strength, it also makes me amazed at what we’re capable of. The scenes are breathtaking — skydivers flying through beautiful green pastures and kayakers breaking through huge waves. While I won’t be jumping off a huge, powdery slope anytime soon, a girl can dream!
Russia has set a new standard for viral videos that I’m not sure any other country can compete with. In this new compilation “We Love Russia” by CompilarizTV, watch Russians play with drills like they’re guns, exfoliate their feet with sandpaper and attempt extreme stunts unsuccessfully.
There’s a bit of debate in the office about how cheesy these year in review compilations are by now. Google just released its annual “Zeitgeist 2012: Year In Review” and Facebook also released their version, chronicling the biggest trends of 2012. The Google compilation is filled with the most world-changing headlines of the year, including the Olympics, Arab Spring, US presidential election and the Red Bull stratosphere jump.
While watching, I was sitting there completely awestruck and uplifted by all the inspiring things that happened this past year, reflecting inwardly where my place in the UNIVERSE is. You know, kind of like Taylor Swift when she wins an award.

Meanwhile, some of my coworkers were unfazed, having watched too many inspirational year in review compilations mixed to Coldplay songs. Where do you stand? Are you still moved by these end of the year compilations or are they getting too cheesy? Also, what do you think was the craziest, world-changing zeitgeist of the year?

I know this is really cheesy, but I love watching end of the year movie mashups because they remind us of the endless possibilities of life. While a lot of people rag on modern movies for being uncreative trite, Nick Kinder thinks differently. He mashed together the best movies of 2012 into a six minute clip and it’s pretty epic.
“2012 was arguably one of the greatest years in modern film. At least in my opinion,” he wrote on his YouTube page. “And editing this video made me realize it. There were so many great films this year. And no matter which one was your favorite, hopefully it made it into this.”
Kinder spent two months editing the video and it took 65 gigabytes on his laptop and over 50 hours of editing. The compilation will tear you to pieces during Damien Rice’s “One” timeframe and build you back up when it jumps into the comedies.
What was your favourite movie of 2012?
These days, a small, good deed can really mean a lot to people. Even watching a good deed can take you by surprise and comfort you with the fact that the whole world isn’t completely screwed. This entire CompilarizTV supercut is devoted to chivalrous drivers who stopped to help older women cross the street. You might wonder why such random footage was caught on camera. Dash cameras are quite common in places like Russia, for safety purposes.
Task of the day: Help someone in need, even if it’s as simple as opening a door for someone.
Christmas is a joyous time of year, but that doesn’t mean it’s exempt from FAILS. Surprisingly, a lot of them have to do with deadbeat Santas or overworked elves. Don’t forget it’s also the time of year for winter sports, meaning slippery falls are inevitable.
The holiday fails compilation was put together by JukinVideoDotCom, though surprisingly it’s missing all those last minute shopping fails.

Who knew there were so many videos of animals feeding other animals to make an entire compilation? Included, are videos of cats feeding dogs, birds feeding cats and a monkey feeding a tiger. Some of these crafty creatures have developed strategies for getting around treats that have been locked up and work together to break the rules. So cute!

I don’t think cats will ever be replaced as the most popular creatures on the Internet, but goats are coming pretty close. With their wimpy squeals, evil eyes and quirky attitude, they’re prime actors for viral videos on YouTube. The compilation above mashes together some of the best goat videos online. If you’re still not persuaded that goats are badass, here’s more proof:

If you’re having a horrible day, just be happy you’re not one of these people, who have utterly failed at simple tasks. The only thing to say after someone falls into a fountain or kicks themselves in the face is “YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.”
So just to clarify, if you’re doing

Understandably, extreme weather can draw out extreme behaviour in people. Being cooped up in a house with no electricity or work to do can be one factor, but perhaps the fear of something terrible happening can make you act in illogical ways. Symptoms can include: putting on a horse mask and trotting through town, riding a jet-ski or trolling poor newscasters that are ankle-deep in water.
This mashup features some of the strange stir-crazy behaviour newscasters caught on camera.

I pretty much write about viral videos everyday so I’ve seen most of them in this compilation of WTF moments, but seeing them one after the other will probably destroy your spleen because you’ll be laughing so hard.
What are WTF moments you ask? They’re those moments when only one phrase comes to mind. The compilation includes a clip of random naked people humping a bridge (for real) and the most ridiculous sound you’ll hear coming from a goat.
I thought they’d run out of supercut ideas somewhere around “Babies Taste Lemons for the First Time” and “Sleeping Dogs Compilation” but when you’re in the world of viral videos like Compilariz there is no end to possibilities.
Their latest mashup is quite specific too — babies laughing at dogs. And it’s five minutes long. Considering how contagious laughter is and how dayam cute babies and dogs are, it’s pretty much like happy crack. Just don’t put the babies laughter in slow motion because the evil sounding cackles will probably haunt your dreams.
September, as far as months go, you really f*cked us over. Let’s hope October is better yeah? In the meantime, sit at your desk and watch this compilation while your friends and co-workers look at you and wonder why you’re sharply intaking your breathe in a sympathetic hiss. Just tell them you’re reading about U.S. politics — at least it sounds more productive.
It’s the end of the month. You know what that means! It’s time for your monthly fail compilation. And this month there are two!
August does not disappoint on the fail spectrum, unless you’re really squeamish around violence/injuries/blood/possible death because both of these videos are full of all that. Consider this a disclaimer.

The Expendables 2 is probably one of the manliest movies out now theatres, but whether you’re a guy or a girl..beware of the following:
1. It’s so manly it will make you pregnant.
2. Ladies, it’s gunna put hair on your chest.
3. Weekly supply of vitamin guns (definitely more like to last a lifetime)
4. “Stop looking at cat videos.” Oops that’s totally us.
If this video doesn’t convince you enough, Crews also told @Jordans_life on the red carpet for the premiere, “If you were raised by a single mom, you’re about to have a daddy right now.”

Just a reminder people: be careful on the road!! If you’re tired of watching depressing fail compilations, try this mashup of the luckiest people who were set up for MAJOR fails but escaped at the last minute. Many of these people were near death and lived to tell the tale.
I was eight-years-old when I attempted my first bellyflop. It was a sunny afternoon in August and I was having “crazy dive” competition with my cousin. I decided I could totally one-up him so I knocked out the bellyflop. The painful slap of the water against my entire body was enough for my to NEVER try it again.
Obviously these people have never learned that lesson. Ouch!
