It appears that Heath Ledger’s final film role will be preserved after all.

Ledger was due for one more marathon of filming “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” before he died in New York City during a short break. But according to the Daily Telegraph, director Terry Gilliam is determined to finish the movie using special effects.

“Terry’s throwing himself into the job of trying to salvage the picture,” said Christopher Plummer, another star of the film. “Fortunately, because the film deals with magic, there is a way perhaps … of turning Heath into other people using stills and CGI.”

Plummer said that Gilliam and Ledger were very good friends, and that the film will be dedicated to the late actor.

Initial reports last week claimed that Johnny Depp would fill Ledger’s shoes.

Jacob Two-Two is coming to Stratford! Jacob Two-Two is coming to Stratford!

“Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang,” the beloved children’s story about a boy who says everything twice, will be the subject of a benefit reading by Canadian actor Christopher Plummer at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival next summer.

Proceeds from the reading will fund festival tickets for students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go.

Plummer, who will also play Julius Caesar at the festival next season, read “Jacob Two-Two” on audiotape in 1988.

But this will be his first public reading of the story, written in 1975 by Canadian literary great Mordecai Richler.

“Christopher has an exceptional repertoire of voices and accents that bring the characters to life and evoke the wonderful spirit of the story,” said Don Shipley, co-artistic director of the festival, in a news release.

Plummer will read a one-hour abridged version of the story at the festival’s Avon Theatre on Aug. 23.

The actor was recently seen on the big screen in “Emotional Arithmetic” and “The Lake House.” He also appeared in “Inherit The Wind” on Broadway earlier this year.
