Christie Brinkley Settles Out of Court

According to MSN.com, Brinkley and Cook have finally settled their long and nasty divorce case.

Brinkley’s lawyer, Robert Stephan Cohen released a statement saying that the estranged couple had come to an out of court settlement at 6:15AM Thursday morning.

The couple had been fighting over several properties they owned in the Hamptons as well as well as the custody of their children, Sailor and Jack.

Brinkley was thrown into the media spotlight once again in 2006 when allegations surfaced that Cook had an affair with a teenaged girl.

Brinkley allegedly heard of the affair from the girl’s stepfather after giving a commencement speech at Southampton High School.

In court this week allegations surfaced that Cook also had an Internet porn addiction, which cost him thousands of dollars a month.

This is Brinkley’s fourth divorce.

Brinkley will get custody of her children and keep 18 properties in the Hamptons. In return, Cook will receive $2.1 million from Brinkley and will be allowed to see his children under an agreement both parties consent to.

Although Christie Brinkley may be in the middle of a nasty divorce battle, the former supermodel spent the Fourth of July relaxing at ex Billy Joel’s Sag Harbor, N.Y., house, reports People Magazine.

“She was just blowing off some steam, being with family. It was just a relaxing little get-together. Nothing special. Just what everyone does on the Fourth,” a source tells the entertainment magazine.

Another onlooker says Brinkley, Brinkley’s daughter Alexa, and her ex Joel “were having a blast,” eating barbecue ribs and corn and sipping white wine.

While Brinkley was spending time with Joel, her soon-to-be ex husband Peter Cook spent the holiday with his 13-year-old son Jack and girlfriend Suzanne Shaw.

Christie Brinkley’s divorce trial does not seem to be getting any easier, reports E! News.

The former supermodel took the stand during the second day of testimony in her public divorce from her soon to be ex-husband Peter Cook. Brinkley testified and recounted her confrontation with Cook, after learning he was having an affair with his 18-year-old secretary.

“I just said to Peter, ‘How could you?’” Brinkley said on the stand.

E! News further reports that Brinkley testified that she learned of her husband’s affair with Diana Bianchi from the teen’s police officer stepfather. Upon hearing about her husband’s infidelity, Brinkley described the moment as “the day my world was completely shattered.”

Brinkley continued to say that she was in shock. “I just started driving away from my perfect life. I thought I had the picket fence. We were happy.”

Christie Brinkley wants her divorce court proceedings to be made public, reports gossip columnist Perez Hilton.

The former supermodel filed for divorce from Peter Cook in 2006 after Brinkley allegedly caught Cook having an affair with his 18-year-old assistant.

The pair has two children Sailor, 9, and Jack, 12, although Jack is Brinkley’s son from her marriage to Richard Taubman and Cook is his adoptive father.

Due to Brinkley’s request, Cook is now accusing Brinkley of wanting to expose her two children. By letting the facts of their marriage be presented in a courtroom, Brinkley has nothing to lose. Cook, however, will gain terrible publicity.

Karma sucks, doesn’t it?

Peter Cook Issues Public Apology to Brinkley

Christey Brinkley’s husband, Peter Cook, has issued a public apology to his wife for his behaviour.

E! Online reports that Cook has confessed to his affair with a 19-year-old employee at his office, and for that he is sorry.

“I love my wife. I have loved her since the day I met her. For a lifetime I’ve tried to prove how much I love her. This is an aberration. I’m sorry. I’m contrite. I’m stupid. Foolish. No excuse,” the statement read.

According to his attorney, Cook is hoping for a reconciliation with Brinkley, however admits if there is a divorce he hopes it will be quick and not drawn out.

“He hopes there’s no divorce. If she wants one, and he certainly hopes this doesn’t happen, but if–it will not be nasty. She can have whatever she wants,” Norman Sheresky, Cook’s attorney, says.

Sheresky also says that while his client admits to the affair with Diana Bianchi, a 19-year-old, the affair was consensual.

“It means, as he told it to me, quote, ‘I took no advantage.’ The idea that the other person involved didn’t knowingly consent to this relationship is garbage,” Sheresky says.

Christie Brinkley Goes for Divorce Record

Former supermodel Christie Brinkley is splitting from her husband, architect Peter Cook, after 10 years of marriage. It will be Brinkley’s fourth divorce.

E! Online reports that Brinkley’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, confirmed the news on Wenesday.

“Her immediate concern is for her children, and she’s hoping during this difficult time that people will be kind enough to respect her privacy,” read a statement from Mintz.

Brinkley, 52, and Cook, 47, had one child together, eight-year-old girl Sailor Lee. Cook also adopted Brinkley’s 11-year-old son Jack when the two wed in September 1996. Jack’s biological father is Brinkley’s third husband, Richard Taubman.

Taubman and Brinkley married in 1994, but the model filed for divorce the next year. Before that, she was married to singer Billy Joel from 1985 to 1994. Her first marriage, to French artist Francois Allaux, lasted from 1973 until 1981.

Brinkley is currently the spokesmodel for CoverGirl’s Advanced Radiance line of cosmetic products for mature women.
