Wait, wait… Chad Kroeger has a girlfriend?

Sorry, enough jokes. Here’s the scoop.

As CHARTattack.com reports, Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger has made headlines recently for firing his housekeeper, Arlene Morris.

The firing took place just a few days before Nickelback’s Vancouver concert on June 3. Morris says that Kroeger had promised her tickets to the show for her five songs, but took the offer back after she was fired.

To add insult to injury, Morris’ 11-year-old son was so sad over the events that he wrote a letter to the Vancouver Sun newspaper.

“[Eight] months were waiting and the day is just about here when my mom gets a call,” Morris’ son wrote. “Oh wow how hard that was, she tells us the tickets were cancelled guys im sorry and not only that he fires her too.”

“Well mr CHAD KRUGER WE dont think your cool and we took your stupid picture off our rockstar wall cause you dont deserve to sit up there with john lennon, mick jagger or bob dylan,” the letter continued.

Jonathan Simkin, Nickelback’s manager, told the Vancouver Province newspaper that Morris was fired for taking Kroeger’s girlfriend’s discarded clothes - an act that Morris denies. Simkin also said that Morris was not directly employed by Kroeger, but had actually been hired by a fellow employee. That same employee was apparently the one who decided to fire her.

This is technically old news, but it’s too hilarious to ignore.

CHARTattack.com has reported that a giant photo of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper appeared as part of a photo montage during an Ottawa Nickelback concert back on April 11.

Apparently Nickelback’s lead singer Chad Kroeger met with the PM earlier that night at 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa. But it was when the band took the stage at Ottawa’s Scotiabank Place that things started to get a tad more - erm – political.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, the prime minister and his son were at the concert. The paper’s review of the show talks about a photo montage of the Nickelback guys that played on a big screen behind the band as they played their hit song “Photograph.” But apparently it wasn’t just Nickelback who showed up on the screen.

As a photo on CHARTattack.com shows, a big head shot of the prime minister himself can be seen behind a tiny-in-comparisson Kroeger.

Hilarious? Yes.

Could this be the magical work of Photoshop (props to that person) or a true aspect of the show? Did the audience applaud when our leader’s face appeared on screen? Did they cheer? Boo? Was this a special treat for the Ottawa show or a part of all Canadian dates? Perhaps even dates in the USA?

So many questions. Nickelback, we want answers.

Crunchy, salty, dilly pickles – who WOULDN’T want to become a Facebook fan of such a delicious food?

If you have Facebook, chances are you have seen the “Can This Pickle Get More Fans Than Nickelback (sic)?” fan page. You might have even joined it.

Well, as CHARTattack.com reports, the page has officially answered the question, and the answer is a big fat yes. The pickle page currently has about 1,450,000 fans, which is almost 50,000 more fans than the Nickelback page.

Rumors have floated around that Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger is trying to shut down the page. A Facebook user posted a link to a screencap of a Facebook message from a user named Chad Kroeger.

“Your page will be closed in 2 weeks,” Kroeger said to Coral Anne, the page’s creator.

“I still whooped your ass, Chad!” she said in reply.

It is unclear whether the user is the real Kroeger or just an angry Nickelback fan posing as the singer.

Now THERE’S a headline you probably never thought you’d see.

Jason Mac, a New Zealand radio DJ for The Rock FM, lost some kind of bet which meant he had to get the image of Nickelack singer/guitarist Chad Kroeger tattooed on his right butt cheek.

To make matters worse, the tattoo depicts Kroeger holding a penis instead of a microphone.

Ouch.

Yes, Nickelback was voted the worst band in the world by Word magazine, but apparently this doesn’t correlate to success in the music industry whatsoever.

According to chartattack.com, Nickelback has been declared the band of the decade by Billboard magazine. They have sold more records than any other band from 2000 to 2009, which consists of more than 30 million albums worldwide from the four albums they have released over the decade. The long-haired Chad Kroeger must be undoubtedly proud of his small-town band that originated in the prairies.

Still think they are the worst band?

Though they have had their shares of ups-and-downs, its appears as though this band is here to stay. After picking up 20 per cent of the vote to be the “worst band in the world,” Billboard and statistics don’t lie.

Other winners in the Billboard poll were Eminem, the top artist of the decade, and NSync’s No Strings Attached as the top selling album of the decade.

Nickelback is currently on a worldwide tour, with Liverpool and London the agenda next. They will also be performing in Basel, Switzerland and Austria in January, among other hot-spot destinations.

Timbaland has always been known for big-star collaborations, and his upcoming studio album Studio Value II is no exception. The roster features an abundance of guests, with the biggest surprise being Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.

According to chartattack.com, Kroeger, Drake, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Chris Daughtry, Brandy, The Fay and Keri Hilson make guest appearances on Timbaland’s radio platform-spanning follow-up to 2007′s Shock Value, which is out Nov. 23 through Universal Music.

Furtado guests on the album’s first single, “Morning After Dark,” which will be available to buy on iTunes beginning this coming Tuesday (Oct. 27). Furtado previously guested on Shock Value, as did Timberlake and Hilson.

“I’m so fortunate and blessed to be able to create a Shock Value II,” Timbaland says. “I’m really proud of the calibre of artists on this album and all the work they put into making it a success. I can promise that no one has ever heard Katy Perry, The Fray or Brandy sound like this before.

Chad Kroeger was sentenced today for driving under the influence two years ago.

A Surrey, B.C. court gave Kroeger a $600 fine and prohibited him from driving for one year, according to cbc.ca.

The charges stem from a 2006 incident when Kroeger was caught driving with a blood alcohol level reportedly twice the legal limit.

Kroeger made an appearance at the court today for his sentencing. The judge had moved the time of sentencing – from 1:30 p.m. PST to 9:30 a.m. PST to avoid a media circus.

A violation of police protocol may save Chad Kroeger from spending up to six months in jail, reports the Surrey Leader.

Chad Robert Turton, a.k.a. Chad Kroeger, plead not guilty to impaired driving on June 22, 2006. The results of his breathalyzer test may be thrown out if Judge Peter Gulbransen finds that the Surrey RCMP violated Kroeger’s rights. Defence lawyer Marvin Sterns claims that Kroeger’s belongings were illegally searched and seized during his arrest.

In addition to jail time, Kroeger would have to pay a $600 fine and one-year driving prohibition if convicted. The trial was originally slated for Nov. 23 and 24 of last year, but will be postponed until Feb. 20 while the judge makes his decision.

A lawyer for Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger says the singer will plead not guilty to drunk driving charges.

Lawyer Marvin Stern says he will argue Kroeger did not commit the offense.

Kroeger, real name Chad Turton, was caught speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway and was driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding legal limits.

The penalty for the offence could range from $600 to a one year driving suspension, according to Stern.

The case over drunk driving charges against Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has been pushed back.

The provincial court in Surry, BC will now hear the case on September 15, according to the Canadian Press.

Kroeger was charged with impaired driving after being pulled over and registering a blood-alcohol level above .08.

His car was stopped and Kroeger was arrested on June 22 after RCMP officers spotted him driving erratically.

The singer (real name: Chad Robert Turton) is currently on tour with Nickelback in Texas. He is being represented in court by lawyer Marvin Stern.

Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger has been charged with drunk driving stemming from a June 22 incident in Surrey, B.C.

Kroeger, real name Chad Robert Turton, will appear in court on Aug. 25, said Crown Attorney Stan Lowe. CTV.ca reports Kroeger was stopped by two officers in police cruisers after they became suspicious of the way the vehicle was being driven.

The rock singer is charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over .08.

Kroeger’s lawyer released a statement on behalf of the singer that said Kroeger “wishes to make it clear to all his fans that drinking and driving is something that should be avoided at all costs.”

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was arrested last month for drunk driving.

The RCMP in Surrey, B.C. say that he was arrested on June 22, according to the Canadian Press.

Officers in two RCMP vehicles were suspicious of the way Kroeger’s vehicle was being driven, according to Corporal Roger Morrow.

The car was also exceeding the speed limit, according to police.

Kroeger was pulled over without incident, and a drunk driving investigation was initiated.

While charges haven’t been laid against Kroeger just yet, the RCMP says they will propose drunk driving charges against the rocker.

Legal documents also revealed that Kroeger’s real surname is Turton.

Nickelback’s lead singer, Chad Kroeger, said he was inspired to write “How You Remind Me” after fighting with his girlfriend.

“I was sitting in the basement of my old house in 2000 having just got into a big argument with my girlfriend. So I guess I was feeling pretty jaded at the time,” he said.

“I wanted to write some lyrics that were a slap in the face to her. Even though I do say in the song that I love her, I kind of wanted to throw her a back-handed slap. So I was being very direct, and yelling into the microphone so that she could hear what I was saying. We actually talked about it years later and I told her I wrote the song about her, and she would not believe that she was the ‘How You Remind Me’ girl.”

While “How You Remind Me” was the first hit single for the Canadian band, their latest, “Photograph” has pushed their latest disc, All The Right Reasons, to number one on Billboard charts.

Writing from experience once again, Kroeger penned this song about his teenage years in small town Canada.

“It’s not about a girl. It doesn’t have the same feel as ‘How You Remind Me’ or ‘Someday.’ It’s a bit of a different Nickelback song,” drummer Daniel Adair told a Wisconsin newspaper. “But we thought, ‘Well, maybe it could work, so let’s give it a shot.’ And it took off.”
