Known for targeting trend-setting technology and recognizing the most exciting and promising products each year, the Cherry Picks “Best of Show” award was awarded this year to the Gibson Robot Guitar.
The Robot Guitar, which competed against products from a hybrid vehicle to the latest in technology’s best home and business products, made history in December with its launch as the first guitar with robotic self-tuning technology. The guitar eliminates tuning problems for artists, making string changes a breeze, by automatically tuning to a standard A440 and allows players to access six commonly used altered tuning presets at the push of a button.
The user interface of the Robot Guitar is the Master Control Knob, which has all operating and control functionality contained in 11 different positions. As the motorized tuners adjust the pitch of the strings, they are monitored by means of a Tune-Control Bridge. The Gibson Robot Guitar is the first production instrument offering robotic ability.
Gibson is known worldwide for producing classic models in every major style of fretted instrument, including acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, and banjos. For more information, visit Gibson’s website at www.gibson.com.
Storage Appliance Corporation has launched the world’s first line of ClickFree backup products, designed for the mass market, at CES 2008 in Las Vegas.
The line of ClickFree backup products includes both hard drive-based and DVD-based solutions and is the world’s first technology that performs backup by simply connecting the storage device to the PC without having to set up or configure software to operate.
Once plugged in via USB port, the ClickFree HD 700 automatically launches, searches and backs up anything important without ever having to push or click a button. Subsequent backups are done in the same manner with new files copied to the device. Plus, consumers can backup their information from up to five PCs without a single click.
“Research tells us the average consumer perceives backup as a complex and fearful ordeal, so they avoid it,” says Ian Collins, CEO, Storage Appliance Corp. “We have changed that. Plug-it-in, sit-back, relax and watch it backup your PC,” he adds.
The HD 700 is now available with 120GB storage capacity at the suggested retail price of $149. For more information, please see www.GoClickFree.com or www.storage-corp.com.
