Snoop Dogg and Other Celebrities to Appear on the Price is Right

It’s hard to believe The Price Is Right has been on the air for 40 years now. To celebrate the big achievement, the show will have its first celebrity week in January.

Perez Hilton explains that one celebrity will appear each episode to play for a charity of his or her choosing. These celebs include rapper Snoop Dogg, actress Jenny McCarthy, actor Neil Patrick Harris, rocker Chris Daughtry and supermodel Heidi Klum.

The special Price is Right week wont air on CBS until January 2 but executive producer Mike Richards isn’t afraid to spill the beans on how some stars excelled.

“Let’s just say Snoop knows more about the price of grocery items than you might think!” he says.

Monday, January 2 — Snoop Dogg playing for Snoop Youth Football League

Tuesday, January 3 — Jenny McCarthy playing for Generation Rescue

I can’t wait to watch. It’s still not the same without the iconic Bob Barker but Drew Carey is holding his own. I’m more excited to see how Snoop’s episode pans out and whether or not Plinko is played.

Ashton Kutcher Replaces Charlie Sheen On ‘Two and a Half Men’

Ashton Kutcher will be replacing Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Two sources close to the deal-making say the actor is putting the final touches on a deal to replace Charlie Sheen as the star of TV’s No. 1 comedy.

The exact dollar figure he will be paid is not known, but a source says Kutcher is getting a “huge payday” to join the hit sitcom.

The deal came together after Hugh Grant passed on the opportunity to join the show. Now, sources say the show’s creator Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. “It’s really funny,” says one source. “People are going to love it.”

This will be Kutcher’s first regular series gig since rising to stardom on Fox’s ‘That 70’s Show.’ He also executive produced the hit MTV series ‘Punk’d,’ among others.

Kutcher was chosen as he brings a youthful fan base to the CBS show, as well as a big online profile with 6.7 million Twitter followers, which could help CBS promote the show.

As we all know, Sheen was fired from the show in early March due to erratic behaviour and mucho-substance-abuse.

I think Kutcher is a good choice, actually. If he’s expected to take on Sheen’s role as an arrogant ladies man, then he’ll definitely be able to pull it off. Much better choice than Hugh Grant, that’s for sure. Kutcher hasn’t made any great films lately, so I think this will be a good career move for him as well.

Charlie Sheen’s Lawsuit MIGHT Have Some Legs

Amidst the tireless rants of the infamous Charlie Sheen, amidst the bi-winning, the tiger blood, the trolls, the cooking shows, the goddesses, the 7-gram rocks, the 6-pack abs, the one-speed, the melting of faces and the explosive devices, Charlie Sheen actually said something that might not have been as nonsensical as the rest.

When Sheen was asked on 20/20 if he planned on suing Two and a Half Men‘s creator Chuck Lorre and CBS, he replied “Wouldn’t you? I don’t have a job!”

Now, his lawsuit appears to be more legitimate than anything else he’s said in the past week, as Chuck Lorre has decided to “lawyer up” as well. As Perez Hilton put it, while Lorre’s lawyer, Howard Weitzman, is denying the suit’s legitimacy, the simple fact Lorre decided to hire a lawyer suggests this is perhaps not as cut and dry as initially perceived.

Weitzman released the following statement:

“The allegations in the complaint against Mr. Lorre are as recklessly false and unwarranted as Mr. Sheen’s rantings in the media. The accusations are simply imaginary. This lawsuit is about a fantasy ‘lottery’ pay-day for Charlie Sheen. Chuck Lorre’s concern has been and continues to be about Mr. Sheen’s health.

Sounds sketchy. I really think Dana White’s idea is the best option for both parties at this point.

Rob Lowe to Replace Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men?’

Can Rob Lowe fill the shoes of Charlie Harper on “Two and a Half Men?” Well show creator Chuck Lorre is interested in finding a replacement for Sheen, and he thinks Lowe could be an interesting fit.

TMZ reports that sources say internal meetings are taking place about the possibility of using Lowe. Lorre’s people as well as honchos from Warner Bros. have been in touch with Rob’s agent at William Morris-Endeavor, talking about Rob possibly coming onboard.

Understandably everyone wants to keep the show on the air as, like it or not, it’s the biggest show in the world.

Charlie Sheen officially got the boot from Warner Bros, according to TMZ.

Warner Brothers issued the following statement: “After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on ‘Two and a Half Men,’ effective immediately.”

There is no conformation whether or not the show will continue with production. Poor Ducky is likely sitting at home pondering his next move. In the meantime, the world (@CharlieSheen’s followers just cracked 2 million) will be hanging on his every tweet.

Want to work for the warlock himself? A few moments ago, Sheen posted a link on his Twitter offering a summer internship: “I’m looking to hire a #winning INTERN with #TigerBlood. Apply here – http://bit.ly/hykQQF #TigerBloodIntern #internship #ad“. There is no set price, but micro-endorsements can net a celebrity anywhere from $1,000 to $50,000 per tweet.

Between the Twitter, Sheen’s new online show (Sheen’s Corner on uStream) and the potential of starring in a new show on Mark Cuben’s channel… I don’t think we’ve had our last dose of him just yet.

Cuban said in a press release Sunday, that there hasn’t been a decision of whether to make it a reality show, a talk show or something else. It will be up to Sheen.

Cuban described Sheen as “somebody that everybody has a whole lot of interest in who is doing some interesting things, to say the least”.

Looks like it’s just the beginning of the self-proclaimed F-18′s destruction.

Warner Brothers Fires Back at Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen may not be ‘winning’ for much longer if he doesn’t keep his mouth shut!

Warner Brothers have hired celebrity lawyers Ron Olsen and John Spiegel to handle Charlie Sheen’s contract and the future of his show, Two and a Half Men. The studio was forced to make the move after the loudmouth ex-star formally threatened a lawsuit upon them.

Though no official legal documentation has surfaced yet, Perez Hilton reports that Olsen and Spiegel have recently been in communication with Sheen’s lawyer regarding his claims that the studio was negligent when it came to Sheen’s partying ways, but overreacted as soon as Chuck Lorre’s name was dragged into the picture.

Olsen and Spiegel are big-time legal guys! We see Charlie Sheen’s star crashing very soon if he’s not more choosy with his words.

As if that’s gonna happen anytime soon!

Charlie Sheen is Squeaky Clean

And he has the drug tests to back it up!

Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen has been doing very well since starting his round of in-home rehab, according to TMZ. Apparently he’s passed two separate drug tests – one taken yesterday and one taken a week ago – with flying colours.

Sheen has been working with team of nationally known addiction specialists that report Sheen’s progress directly to Warner Bros. and CBS so that it can be determined when Sheen’s show can go back into production.

Sheen himself has been reportedly feeling much better and is “itching to get back to work as soon as possible” according to one source.

Hmm, spent too much money on eight-balls, perhaps?

Get well soon, Charlie! Our grandmas will get upset if they miss too many episodes of your show.

Mark Wahlberg Produces a New Comedy

It looks like Entourage producer Mark Wahlberg stopped talking to animals long enough to make a new comedy pilot!

The project, called Home Game, was purchased by mega network CBS and should launch into production soon. The show is loosely based on the life of the show’s co-producter, Superbowl vet and NFL pro Mark Schlereth.

Sports! Comedy! Together! Very inventive Mr. Wahlberg. Say hi to your mother for me, ok?

Any thoughts on the new pilot? Is this a money grab on Wahlberg’s part or do you think the show actually stands a chance?

‘Big Brother’ Winner Adam Jasinski Arrested for Drug-Dealing

Some headlines offer so many questions. For example, why would a man who recently won half a million dollars on a gameshow, be dealing drugs?

Unfortunately, Adam Jasinski, the winner of CBS’s 9th season of the hit reality show Big Brother, has an answer to that question. Jasinski was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of oxycodone with attempt to distribute, as well as a charge of failing to file a tax return in 2008, which happens to be the same year he was the winning contestant on the show. The sentencing occurred earlier today in Boston.

Jasinski shouldn’t have too difficult a time in jail though. He did just win 500 grand for being the best at “being locked in a house with a bunch of other people for an extended period of time.” I’m sure he’ll be making friends in no time.

Our favorite CBS/CTV dorks are back. E! Online is reporting Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, Raj and Penny have signed on for at least 3 more years.

Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, said “It doesn’t take a theoretical physicist to see why this show is a big part of our comedy future. The creative genius of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady and the on-camera talents of an amazing young ensemble have created a comedy that will entertain viewers for a long time.”

Sounds like the geeks have quite a vote of confidence from their superiors. Break out your sugar-free Red Bull and original SNES consoles, it’s party time dudes.

The Big Bang Theory just garnered a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy Musical. It currently airs on Thursday nights at 8 ET on CBS or CTV in Canada.

In an interview airing on CBS “Sunday Morning,” former “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul tells Julie Chen that she is smarter than people think.

“I am intelligent,” Abdul, 48, says with a smile. “Having a brain, that’s a concept, yes, with Paula Abdul. I have a brain.”

And regarding rumors that she’s a drunk and is often not coherent? “I’ve never had a drinking problem. Even though I’ve been in this business for quite some time, I’ve never physically been drunk in my life. I’ve never been drunk in my life. I don’t use recreational drugs. But I am goofy.”

Yes, more news about American Idol! Amidst swirling rumours of who will be on the judging panel for the next season of the show, Paula Abdul’s name has come up. Unfortunately for her she can’t be a judge, reports E! Online.

A source said that Abdul is locked into the upcoming American version of the U.K’s Got to Dance and is contractually prohibited from appearing on any other competition show for quite some time. I guess that’s what you get for signing a seven-figure contract with a huge network (not that she should be complaining).

“If Paula did Idol she would get sued big-time by Viacom,” the source says, continuing that Abdul’s contract with the CBS-produced Got to Dance is for “about five years.”

Producer Nigel Lythgoe is returning to Idol and despite him possibly wanting to bring back an original judge he says, “I love Paula,” but continues, “Paula is under contract to another company so she is unavailable.”

Bad news for anyone hoping to see the crazy outspoken Paula Abdul back on the show!

Charlie Sheen should be back at work filming “Two and a Half Men” reports TMZ. Initially there were fears he would miss next week’s filming due to his criminal case.

Charlie has a hearing to discuss a plea bargain on August 2nd. The production team has been assured everything should go to plan, and Charlie should be back at work August 6th. Therefore, he should not miss a single taping for next season.

Charlie Sheen has signed a deal with Warner Bros to do 2 more years of “Two and a Half Men” reports TMZ.

Sources tell TMZ that Sheen is “very happy.” As far as what Charlie is getting paid remains unclear. We know initially he wanted $2 Million per episode, however Warner Bros. initially said no. Obviously the two sides were able to meet somewhere in the middle.

Sheen released a statement saying “To put a fitting end on the two-and-one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I’m looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights. I want to thank Les Moonves for his support.”

Charlie Sheen Wants a Raise: $2 Million for ‘Two and a Half Men’

Charlie Sheen is currently in negotiations to come back to Two and a Half Men and is asking for a big raise, reports E! Online.

The sitcom star is said to be asking for $2 million per episode. Two and a Half Men is a big earner for CBS and Warner Bros. TV, but as everyone knows, it won’t take two million dollars for Charlie Sheen to remain a bachelor.

A source close to Sheen commented, “Charlie thinks he’ll probably get $1.2 or $1.3 million in the end,” reports E! Online.

It has been rumoured that he threatened to walk off of the hit sitcom as a negotiation tactic, but as E! Online reports, Charlie Sheen released a statement in April maintaining that the decision to leave the show was not a “hasty or negligent eleventh-hour surprise.”

Whether he gets what he is asking for or not and does come back to Two and a Half Men for another season, it is likely that we won’t have to wait long to find out.

CBS is holding its upfronts on May 19th and potential advertisers will want to know if Sheen will be returning to star in the hit show.

Tonight may be the last episode Charlie Sheen films for his hit show “Two and a Half Men.” Sheen told PEOPLE in a statement about his decision to call it quits.

“Much speculation and rumor has arisen from my current status surrounding Two and a Half Men,” Sheen tells PEOPLE in a statement that addresses recent reports on the star’s alleged 11th-hour salary negotiations, his willingness to walk away from the show and his life after the series.

“All of the numbers reported in the press are false. Claims from ‘inside sources’ regarding offers from the studio as well as my salary, on their best day, are without merit. Approaching the start of the current season and as far back as June ‘09, I submitted my terms for season eight to Warner Bros. and CBS respectfully.

“Both parties have known the score for over a year. In no way, has this been a hasty or negligent eleventh hour surprise. I offer this information out of love and respect to my crew, my on-set family, my writers, executive staff, as well as my real family, my dear friends and my loyal fans. We tape the final episode of the season this evening.

“If tonight’s show is the end for me as Charlie Harper, so be it. Another journey has begun. I take from the experience 161 shows filled with a kaleidoscope of amazing experiences, memories, friendships and gratitude. I remain humbly inspired. – C. Sheen”

Charlie Sheen to Quit Two and a half Men

Charlie Sheen still had his hit-sitcom Two and a Half Men, amongst all of the drama, but apparently he is ready to ditch that too, reports E! Online.

The troubled actor is planning to leave CBS’ top-rated comedy after this slightly shortened seventh season, which is to wrap up on April 9. The network as no comment at this time, and Sheen’s rep confirmed that the contract that made the veteran the highest-paid sitcom star is only to last until the end of this season.

The 44-year-old star returned to work on March 16, after a stint in rehab to cope with his various issues including his violent fight with wife, real estate investor, Brooke Mueller, which now has the Emmy-nominated actor facing a felony menacing charge. He pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges in Aspen, and he and Mueller are apparently working things out.

She has since sought treatment for substance abuse since their fight on Christmas Day.Sheen has pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges in Aspen and he and the missus are said to be working things out. Local Stations are Happy Oprah Is Saying Goodbye

Although millions of women (and certainly some men) will be sad to see Oprah leave TV, not everybody is shedding a tear.

Apparently local TV station affiliates are happy to see “O” call it quits. According to an article in Broadcasting & Cable, Oprah’s replacement will undoubtedly save station and ownership groups cash.

“Oprah’s ratings have eroded so much that the image of Oprah is much stronger than the reality of Oprah, either as a news lead-in or as a money-maker,” says one station executive. “In many cases, Oprah is a stunning loss leader. There are people who are deeply thankful she is calling it quits.”

The article further explains that although Oprah’s replacement will unlikely attract Oprah ratings, the replacement will nevertheless be much cheaper.

Oprah Announces The Final Show

The old adage is true: all good things must come to an end, including the beloved Oprah Winfrey show of 25 years.

The queen of daytime television announced that the show will not continue past 2011, and she will move on to pursue other projects in her life. According to people.com, a spokesperson announced the “the last day will be Sept 9, 2011 [...] She will speak about it on (Friday’s) live show.”

This mention of new projects brings to light Winfrey’s latest work on her new cable channel, called the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Perhaps she will bring to life another version of her talk show on this channel?

Dose.ca published the following comment made on the CBS TV Distribution’s behalf. “We have the greatest respect for Oprah and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors,” said the company. “We know that anything she turns her hand to will be a great success. We look forward to working with her for the next several years and hopefully afterwards as well.”

The “Oprah Winfrey Show,” which has dominated daytime television for the past quarter century, combined aspects of charity, popular culture, self-help, and essentially an uncountable amount of topics. The queen of daytime television will be sorely missed by all, but with the OWN cable channel debuting in January, this is certainly not the last people will see of the beloved hostess.

Patrick Swayze Dead At 57

In a year littered with celebrity passings, one more soul was added to the list today as Houston-born actor Patrick Swayze died- after a nearly two year battle with pancreatic cancer.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the 57-year-old Dirty Dancing star passed away with family at his side.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” said a statement released Monday evening in Los Angeles by his publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were given.

Swayze first came forward about his diagnosis in spring 2008, but decided to undergo treatments at the Stanford University Medical Center and still continue working at the same time-most recently on A&E’s now cancelled series The Beast. The actor was told he had Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasm (IPMN), a rare stage IV pancreatic cancer.

After he was treated with Cyberknife radiotherapy cancer treatment in 2008, Swayze appreared to be healthy -appearing on the ABC, NBC and CBS Simulcast of Standup to Cancer- but on January 9 2009, the actor was hospitilized with Pneumonia.

Swayze checked out a week later, but was then told in April 2009 that the cancer had attacked his liver. The actor admitted that his chain smoking “may had haved something to do with it,” but continued to smoke regardless.
