Many women would die and go to heaven if news breaks that Ryan Gosling will play Christian Grey in the upcoming film adaptation of E.L James’ steamy novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
But according to James herself, the role of Christian hasn’t even been set in stone.
“As usual, it’s all been misreported,” she recently told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show after reports that her husband Niall had spilled the beans on the film’s cast.
“What happened is that his local paper … reported on my husband being the inspiration for Christian Grey,” she continued. “Underneath it, they put a picture of Ryan Gosling as well. So, that’s how that [rumor] came about.”
But while there may be a lot of speculation on who would play the best Christian Grey, James says the film is “far too early in the process.” So that means, there are plenty of other men who could be suited for the role!
But personally, after reading the book and being horrified surprised by the contents, I don’t think I can deal with Gosling being in the movie. I’d much rather see him play a mysterious driver…or revert back to his Breaker High days, thank you very much!!

Looks like another storm of racist comments are coming over the possible casting of Jesse Williams for Finnick Odair in the next Hunger Games films Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
The trilogy has met a lot of criticism in the past for first casting Jennifer Lawrence to transform into the dark-complexioned Katniss Everdeen. Then, there was the controversy over casting Amandla Stenberg as 11-year-old Rue because of her race.
But according to message boards like this one, people seem to think that Finnick Odair should be Caucasian:
Here are some of the comments:
“I think that Jesse Wiliams just won’t work. Finnick Odair in my eyes is Tall, young, disheveled medium long luscious Golden blonde hair, ocean blue colored eyes, he has a glowing tan, washboard abs, and wears almost no clothes, at the same times carries a trident. That is the guy i wan’t to see as Finnick. For example PERFECT GUY is Ian Somerhalder. Color him blonde and throw in some contacts and wala you have Finnick Odair!”
“I’m sorry but unless I read the wrong book, isn’t Finnick Caucasian? By tanned skin Collins meant his skin was darkened from the sun (swimming/fishing) not that he is of a darker skin ethnicity… Don’t get me wrong, this guy is great just completely wrong for this role.”
Meanwhile, here’s what Williams had to say:
“I didn’t know what the heck a Finnick was when I was getting a lot of the questions about it. People are creative about that kind of stuff, and now I’ll try to figure out if that’s something that’s interesting to me.”
According to the books, the character is described as an extremely handsome man with “tan skin” (also referred to as “golden”), “bronze-colored hair” and “incredible” sea-green eyes.
Personally, I think Jesse would be an excellent choice for Finnick. He’s tanned, has a sexy body and has beautiful eyes. This man is hot!!
And so what if he isn’t Caucasian? Maybe he’ll even shock you with his performance! And besides, Hollywood definitely needs more diversity in their films and range of actors.
Love them or hate them (we would lean towards the hate them category), the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” know how to make a buck. After just a recent pay raise prior to their shooting in Italy for the fourth season, the cast has just received yet ANOTHER pay raise.
The fifth season will take place back in Seaside Heights, NJ, but the cast refused to participate without a major pay increase. TMZ reports that the entire cast has received a bump in salary, however there wasn’t a huge salary increase as they all hoped.
Either way, its money they don’t deserve. The douche bags win again!
Looks like the Upper East Side is about to get a whole lot less annoying.
According to TVLine, both Taylor Momsen, who plays rebellious little Jenny, and Jessica Szohr, the ever-so-clingy Vanessa, are both confirmed to be leaving the show.
A source close to the show confirms that the two actresses will not be returning as series regulars for the CW show’s upcoming fifth season, but added that both have been invited back on a guest star basis.
The insider also confirms that the main five — Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford — will all be back in the fall. Additionally, Kaylee DeFer, who joined the cast this spring as Serena’s cousin Charlie, has been promoted to series regular status.
This news isn’t really shocking. Momsen only appeared on a couple of episodes this season since she is focusing on her music career, while Szohr’s character hasn’t been very involved with the plotlines and spent a good portion of the season ‘studying abroad.’
Personally, I’m so happy these two are gone. Their characters were both annoying, eavesdroppers, meddlers, and complainers. Momsen is way better at the music thing than acting, and Szohr just needs to go. Hooray!
Because we can bet you’re already counting down to the next season of Glee, here’s a little update for you.
While not much information has been released as of yet, PerezHilton has confirmed that singer Charice will be joining the cast of the hit Fox TV show.
Apparently Charice will play a foreign exchange student with an amazing voice that makes Rachel jealous. Cat fight!
It looks like some of the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” will be hitting the unemployment line next season.
TMZ reports that MTV has given 4 well known cast members pink slips, including Sammi, Ronnie, Vinny and Angelina. MTV is not feeling these guys and girls anymore (perhaps their tans weren’t dark enough) and they will be replaced.
The Situation, Snooki, Pauly D and Jwoww all will be back for the third season. Phewww!!!
The next question is can we actually stand ANOTHER season of this crap?
When MTV’s “Jersey Shore” cast return to Seaside Heights, New Jersey, they can expect their entourage to grow quite substantially.
TMZ reports that not only will the MTV cast have their own private security with them 24/7, they will also have an increased police presence following them around.
Last year only one officer was assigned to the show, but this year 7-10 cops will be with the crew. Hopefully this will help prevent boardwalk brawls and guys punching girls. However, doesn’t that ridiculous behavior make the show watchable? Watching these morons get into altercations is more than half the fun. With increased security, we may not be able to look forward to those classy moments anymore.
You may want to sit down for this one, Gleeks.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the cast of Fox mega-hit Glee are gearing up for a Lady Gaga inspired episode in the second half of this season, featuring performances of “Bad Romance” and “Poker Face.”
Leah Michele, who plays the precocious and self-involved Rachel Berry, is working on a “stripped down version” of “Poker Face”, while the entire Glee club will tackle an over-the-top “Bad Romance” – costumes and all.
Chris Evans has officially been cast as “The First Avenger: Captain America”, according to the Hollywood Reporter, playing the role as Steve Rogers.
The deal for Evans is potentially quite lucrative. Evans has accepted an offer from Marvel Studios to star as Steve Rogers in “Captain America” and nine other Marvel features, including potential sequels, “The Avengers” and other unannounced projects.
With the addition of “Captain America” to his resume, Evans is basically comic book royalty. Along with “Fantastic Four,” Evans will also appear in forthcoming adaptations of “The Losers” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”
The cast of Gossip Girl spent the summer on extravagant vacations (in both TV-land and reality), but it seems the rest of the world isn’t too interested in their homecoming.
Thursday’s premiere finished with a 36 per cent decrease in viewers, compared to the 2008 premiere. It’s a shocking drop for a show whose cast spent their time off in the spotlight, generating a real-time version of gossip.
Leighton Meester made the music press recording a single with Cobra Starship and launching her personal MySpace with plans for a debut solo album.
Chace Crawford was voted this summer’s hottest bachelor by People Magazine, beating out the smouldering Robert Pattinson and, unexpectedly, Dwayne Johnson (better known as The Rock).
“Lizzie McGuire” star Hillary Duff is set to join the cast of “Gossip Girl” for a multi-episode arc, according to EW.com.
According to reports, Duff will play Olivia Burk, a movie star enrolled in New York University to get the college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (played by Jessica Szohr) at NYU, the same University attended by characters Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley).
In December, Duff said to E! News she’d become a fan of the show, adding that her favourite character was Chuck Bass. “I don’t know why, because he’s so bad and terrible,” she said. “He is so sad that I feel bad for him,” she admitted.
There have been countless rumours regarding who would replace Zac Efron in the upcoming “Footloose” remake but according to PEOPLE, Paramount Pictures has announced that Crawford will be reprising the role of Ren McCormack, previously played by Kevin Bacon.
“High School Musical” star Zac Efron dropped out of the film to pursue different roles, but Paramount released a statement saying the studio was still committed to the remake.
A statement from Paramount at the time said, ” ‘Footloose’ is a project we’ve longed to see re-booted for a new generation. While Zac is no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of Kenny Ortega, [producers] Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, who will reinvigorate the franchise.”
Crawford is currently in New York filming “Twelve,” co-starring “24’s” Kiefer Sutherland, Emma Roberts, Ellen Barkin and rapper 50 Cent.
After months of rumours over who will play such and such character in the second film of the “Twilight” saga “New Moon”, Summit Entertainment has finally released an official cast announcement.
“New cast members include the legendary Volturi, a venerable coven of vampires who weigh and impose the laws of the vampire world, as well as two new members of the Quileute Indian Nation,” read the press release posted on April 15 on Summit Entertainment’s website. ”The Volturi include Charlie Bewley as Demetri, Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius, Daniel Cudmore as Felix, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, all Volturi enforcers. Dakota Fanning plays Jane, a high-ranking and powerful Volturi member, and Cameron Bright is Alec, her brother. Noot Seear plays Volturi member Heidi. Michael Sheen plays Aro, the Volturi leader. Graham Greene appears as Harry Clearwater, Quileute tribal leader and old friend of Bella’s father Charlie. Tinsel Korey is Emily, the fiancée of Sam Uley.”
Matthew McConaughey, who had a breakout role as a lawyer in 1996′s “A Time to Kill,” is returning to the courtroom for his latest project.
Variety reports that the actor is attached to star in “The Lincoln Lawyer,” a legal thriller based on the 2005 Michael Connelly best-seller.
Woody Allen has added Nicole Kidman to the all-star cast of his latest film, which will begin shooting in London this summer.
According to Variety, the actress joins a cast that includes Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto of “Slumdog Millionaire” fame.
Seth Green and Breckin Meyer may be joining the cast of “Heroes.”
The real life best friends and production partners would play “Atlanta-based comic book nerds aficionados who cross paths with (and perhaps serve as advisors to) one of the Heroes,” reports Entertainment Weekly.
With most of the cast returning and more and more stars being signed to the show, this season’s talent will be almost as exciting as the show’s plotlines.
Green and Meyer currently work together on “Robot Chicken.”
The World Entertainment News Network reports that Mike Tyson is planning to produce a biopic about his life, and has already hand-picked Jamie Foxx for the part.
The two-time boxing heavyweight champion has certainly experienced enough drama in the last two decades to make the film interesting. He was convicted of raping a beauty pageant contestant in 1992, bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear in 1997, declared bankruptcy in 2003, and was jailed last year for a DUI and possession of cocaine.
Of his struggles with substance abuse, Tyson said that he is now clean. “Even when I was training for a fight, there were no drugs, but I would drink. I had never been clean and sober my whole life. This is the first time. I’m tired of losing. I lost the trust of my family, my five kids. I didn’t like that way of life and decided to change. I saw the devil and didn’t want that.”
