Justin Bieber has answered the redundant question of another Juno-nominated Canadian singer-songwriter’s hit single – Carly Rae Jespen, by calling her and signing her to the School Boy label.
It’s a label founded by Scooter Braun who said that last time he worked with a Canadian it worked out really, really well. Both Braun and the Biebs have gushed about the former Canadian Idol’s hit single “Call Me Maybe,” thinking it’s bullshit that it is only #1 in Canada.
The 26-year-old singer was on Much Music’s New Music Live yesterday when Bieber sent the video describing the first time he heard Jespen and immediately falling “in love” with her sound.
“I just wanted to tell everybody that we signed her,” he continued, “so everyone go check her out, a song called ‘Call Me Maybe,’ and she’s going to blow up.”
Now the B-Squad (it’ll catch on) are bringing Jepsen out to Los Angeles to work on an album – and maybe even a collaboration with Bieber himself.
