Do you ever talk to us on Twitter or Facebook and wonder who’s behind the screen? Meet Denique LeBlanc, social media guru, entertainment junkie and vlogger extraordinaire. Say hi to him at @andpop or on our Facebook page! He’s our newest addition in 2013 and wanted to say hi.
Hey y’all!
I’m Denique LeBlanc, 19 years of age and currently munching on Oreo ice cream. I can’t remember a time when the entertainment world wasn’t a part of my life… ok, maybe back in the fifth grade, when I was forced into doing the annual science fair (BLAH).
Even back then, I was far more interested in hearing about the latest music/celebrity news, as opposed to learning the secret to a fake volcanic eruption. Needless to say, I never aced science. In fact, I hated school so much that I finished grade 12 a semester early to move to Montreal. Since then, I dove head-first into the real world with tons of drive and a big dream: to work in “the business.” I lived in Quebec for half a year, then spent the past year living in Australia where “girls” became “gulls” and “thank you” was replaced by an obnoxious “tah.”
After a lot of traveling, many random adventures, numerous mistakes and a ton of exhilarating projects, I’m ready to step into the Canadian spotlight and entertain! I’m thrilled to be a part of the team at ANDPOP and I can’t wait for what’s to come in 2013! Drop me a line on Twitter at @andpop or on our Facebook page.
Watch him here!
When the bell rang on my last day of high school I remember channeling Judd Nelson’s epic freeze-frame jump in The Breakfast Club, running home and sprawling on my bedroom floor to the soundtrack of Bright Eyes (I was quite a dramatic graduate). I’m pretty sure thought bubbles even sprouted from my head, filled with ivy-covered collegiate lecture halls and campus protests for obscure international issues…. and maybe a freshman party or two.
ANYWAY. What I’m trying to say in my nostalgic, roundabout way is that your first year of university will rock, and we want you to share it with our readers. We’re looking for four campus ambassadors to tell us what people are listening to, watching and wearing. You can also be our guide to age old questions like how do you avoid the Freshman 15? How do you de-stress? We also love satirical articles about all the bumps and scrapes you encounter along the way.
Our campus ambassadors will write columns for us every two weeks. The candidates must be entering their first year of college or university this fall, in either Canada or the United States. For more information, check out our career page.
