LAPD Opens Investigation into Brittany Murphy’s Death

According to Examiner.com, the LAPD has opened an investigation into the death of actress Brittany Murphy. Detectives working on the case have arrived at the home of Murphy where the 911 call was placed this morning. Murphy was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after being transported from her home.

It is been reported by numerous sources that Murphy died of cardiac arrest. Paramedics were called to the home but unfortunately were unable to revive her. Brittany Murphy was 32 years old and had starred in numerous films.

TMZ is reporting that at 8a.m. PST Sunday morning, a 911 call was made reporting that Brittany Murphy had gone into cardiac arrest. Los Angeles Fire and Rescue responded to the call, however they were unable to revive the actress. The call was made from a home owned by Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack.

Brittany has appeared in many films and has had quite a successful career in Hollywood. Her breakout role was in Clueless in 1995, and later was casted in Girl Interrupted, Don’t Say A Word, Just Married, to name a few. andPOP would like to wish their condolences to Murphy’s family and fans everywhere.

Michael Jackson, 50, passed away this afternoon due to cardiac arrest at the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

andPOP reports that according to multiple press sources, Jackson originally collapsed in his home in west Los Angeles, California, Thursday morning. Fire Capt. Steve Ruda revealed that a 911 call came from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m, PST.

Paramedics arrived on the scene at 12:26 p.m. to find Jackson unconscious, prompting them to perform CPR before then rushing the “King of Pop” singer to the UCLA Medical Centre.

At the medical centre, access was extremely limited to Jackson, as every entrance to the emergency room was blocked off by security guards. This applied to even the hospital staffers.

According to CNN, Jackson went into a deep coma following the cardiac arrest.

When the news of the death broke, Jackson’s sister, pop star LaToya, ran into the hospital in uncontrollable tears, and Jackson’s family is reportedly gathering around the deceased singer’s bedside.

Jackson was about to begin a massive comeback tour in London on July 13 until March 2010. The singer had been rehearsing in the Los Angeles area for the past two months.

There have been concerns about Jackson’s health in recent years but the promoters of the London shows, AEG Live, said in March that Jackson had passed a four and a half hour physical examination with independent doctors.

Celebrity website TMZ is reporting pop-icon Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital in Los Angeles apparently suffering from cardiac arrest. It has been reported that paramedics were seen performing CPR on Michael. E! Online states that Jackson has been taken to UCLA Medical Center however there has been no official statement released as of yet. andPOP will post more information as it becomes available.
