Normally when an average person does something kind or wins something they get a trophy, a metal, and maybe some money. Angelina Jolie didn’t even win anything but she is so beloved in Cambodia that one religious site in Angkor has been renamed the Angelina Jolie Temple.

Wenn.com had the chance to speak with Rajan Zed, the president of the Universal Society of Hinduism. He tells them that “”It’s a 12th century site called Ta Prohm; it is otherwise known as Old Brahma and was initially named Rajavihara or the royal monastery. Now it’s popularly called the Angelina Jolie Temple.”

Zed also said, “It was said to be the setting for various scenes in the first Tomb Raider film… Local restaurants sell Tomb Raider cocktails and she appears to be the patron saint of Cambodia.”

Jolie’s son Maddock is orgininally from Cambodia so she has a natural affinity for the country. Jolie has been honored by numerous charity organizations for her work in Africa, but having a temple named after her is perhaps her greatest feat.

Angelina Jolie loves kids. Apparently she loves them so much that she’s adding yet another one to her pack of young ones.

U.S. tabloid the Globe says Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt have already applied to adopt a kid from an Indian orphanage.

“They hope to be able to bring the child home by Christmas,” says the token unnamed source. “Brad would prefer a boy no older than 18 months to even out the sexes but Angie has told him she can’t guarantee she won’t fall in love with a little girl.

“Whichever they end up with, they’d like to name the child India to honour its homeland.”

Jolie and Pitt have three other children. Maddox and Zahara are also adopted and Angelina gave birth to daughter Shiloh this year.

“I want to create a rainbow family. That’s children of different religions and cultures from different countries,” Jolie has said in interviews. “I believe I’m meant to find my children in the world and not necessarily have them genetically.”

Actor Brad Pitt and girlfriend Angelina Jolie have each donated $1 million US to two humanitarian organizations.

“I have seen these brave men and women working in war zones and horrific conditions and I deeply admire them,” Jolie said in a statement.

The two groups, Global Action for Children and Medecins Sans Frontieres, try to improve life for people living in poverty in troubled areas of the world.

This is one of many of the couple’s charitable endeavors. They most recently sold photos of their newborn daughter, Shiloh, to raise money for charity.

“Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010 and millions orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict,” said Jennifer Delaney of Global Action for Children.
