India is the country where Katy Perry was proposed to and where she she got married. Although the marriage didn’t work out, she did pack home a snazzy Bollywood remix for “California Gurls.”
The remix was commissioned for her show by Jack O.A.T for her 2012 performance in India. While it includes a lot of the original composition, I love the Bollywood flair. Plus the video just makes me want to dance. [Source]

What’s better than one Katy Perry song? Well, a whole bunch of them mashed together equals one epic track. “Tommie Sunshine’s Megasix Smash-Up” encapsulates Perry’s cupcake-bra-wearing, blue hair, braceface, extra-terrestrial, GI Jane aura.
The DJ took all her hits from the past 18 months and mixed them together in seven minutes. Included is: “Teenage Dream,” “California Gurls,” “Firework,” “The One That Got Away,” “Last Friday Night (TGIF),” and “E.T.”
The track will be included on Perry’s album Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection, which comes out today. [Source]
You know you’re pretty great when you beat records previously broken by yourself.
Last week, pop singer Katy Perry broke the record for most plays of a pop song in a single tracking week. Her hit ‘E.T.,’ featuring Kanye West, logged 12,330 plays on all 131 Pop Songs reporters, besting the previous record of 12,159 plays set by ‘California Gurls’ last summer.
But that’s not all. In fact, Perry holds the top four spots with all of her last four singles. Check out the numbers:
12,330, “E.T.,” Katy Perry featuring Kanye West, May 14, 2011
12,159, “California Gurls,” Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg, July 17, 2010
11,857, “Firework,” Katy Perry, Jan. 22, 2011
11,841, “Teenage Dream,” Katy Perry, Oct. 16, 2010
I know that every time I get into my car the XM radio is always playing a Katy Perry song of some sort, so it’s hard to disagree with this news. Must feel pretty great to be at the top – enjoy it while it lasts, and here’s to hoping for more great singles to come.
Now this is some well-deserved respect for Mrs. Brand!
Billboard announced today that Katy Perry’s album, “Teenage Dream,” has become the first album to hold four No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in six years, with the singles “E.T.,” “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” and “Firework.” Not only that, but “Teenage Dream” is also the ninth album ever to produce four No. 1s in the Hot 100′s 52-year history. Congrats, Katy!
“I am so thrilled that ‘E.T.’ has landed at No. 1,” Perry told Billboard.com. “I want to thank all the fans who contributed to this amazing feat and radio, which has been an essential part of my continued existence. I truly appreciate all the support of my creative twists and turns.”
The highly anticipated music video for her hit single, “E.T.” featuring Kanye West, is set to premier at noon tomorrow on MTV.com, VH1.com, and LogoTV.com, followed by its first TV appearance on MTV at 7:53, says MTV.
Leading up to the video release, Perry has been tweeting pictures of fans after having been “abducted” by aliens. The alien invasion has also taken over Perry’s website and Facebook page by more pictures of fans adorned in all different types of face paint and glitter, as well as alien-encrypted posts.
“Can’t wait to share the video with you tomorrow,” Perry told Billboard. And we can’t wait to see it!
