It was only a matter of time before Norwegian Recycling, King of Mashups and 90s tunes, put his musical touch on Whitney Houston. The new remix combines three of Houston’s songs with a bunch of current artists, including Adele.
While I like the song, especially Houston’s parts, it doesn’t top “How Six Songs Collide.” I also think Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” comes out of nowhere and doesn’t really fit the beat. What do you think?
Whenever I listen to a mashup I hear fragments of a song that are on the tip of my tongue but I can’t think of the name. Then it bugs me for days. We’ve got you covered though, here’s a list of the songs you’ll find in this mashup:
1) Adele – Fire To The Rain
2) Whitney Houston – How Will I Know
3) Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)
4) Whitney Houston – So Emotional
5) Florence And The Machine – You Got The Love
6) Bruno Mars – Grenade

2011, like any other year, was full of sex, drugs, violence and even some dancing monkeys. Music videos from such artists like Bruno Mars and Britney Spears have kept us entertained from January until December. Here at andPOP, we can’t wrap up a fantastic year without discussing our top ten music videos.
10. Dr. Dre and Eminem – “I Need a Doctor”
Dr. Dre’s first official single in over a decade and we love how the video walks us through the rapper’s life.
An artist that goes by the name of Mashup-Germany has compiled a wonderful mashup of the most popular songs of 2011.
From Taio Cruz’s “Hangover” to Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” to Rihanna’s “We Found Love” this DJ mixes the best with nothing but the best. It’s an incredible song to play at your next Christmas or New Year’s Eve party!
What are you waiting for? Polish off your dancing shoes and listen to this song over and over again.
The fun video was produced by PANOS T. Check it out below.
While I’m happy for the single Bradley Cooper who can now use this title to pick up chicks, I’m a bit disappointed People Magazine shunned a few of my favourite male celebrities from the number one spot.
Here is a countdown of the top 5 dapper dudes who should have worn the crown instead.
5. James Franco
He’s not only an actor but a producer, director, performance artist, University student, author, painter and my future husband. James is the jack of all trades and that’s what makes him sexy.
4. Bruno Mars
The R&B singer has an exotic look about him. He’s won a bunch of Grammys and the hearts of just about every girl on the planet. After all, this is the guy who would catch grenades for you.
3. Ryan Gosling
Gosling is our generation’s George Clooney. He’s in every movie (in every woman’s bedroom too!) and gets nominated for everything. I think next year, the Academy is giving him an award for breathing.
2. Donald Glover
The most attractive thing about him is his sense of humor. Donald started out writing for The Daily Show with John Stewart and Tina Fey’s show 30 Rock.Just as we were starting to fall for his cute nerd shtick on Community, he goes and creates a rapping alter ego, Childish Gambino. Donald proves you can be both a major nerd and a total badass at the same time.
1. Matthew Gray Gubler
Easily the best thing to look at when you watch Criminal Minds. Matthew plays a complete genius on the show and I’d like to think he is one in real life too. He can whisper sweet excerpts from the encyclopedia to me any day!
If I had a dollar every time Bruno Mars made out with some chick in a music video, I’d have enough money to finance the video myself.
For a guy with the greatest set of hair of probably all time, you’d think he’d have a big brain full of original ideas. The music video Bruno did before this, “The Lazy Song”, was so entertaining and unique. Now, he’s gone back to the over-done concept of staring deeply into a girls eyes while belting out lovelorn lyrics. It’s a total snooze-fest, no matter how good he looks.
If you’re ever listening to records and staring blankly at your fridge wondering what to drink, you’re not alone. A new website called Drinkify was designed to help music enthusiasts decide what to drink when listening to their favourite artists.
You simply type in the name of the artist or band you’re currently listening to and a delicious recipe will appear, usually that of an alcoholic beverage (unless you’re Justin Bieber). Here’s a look at a sample of artists with their paired drinks.
Remember kids: drink responsibly.
Bad news for Twilight and Bruno Mars fans – his video for “It Will Rain” has been delayed. The video was supposed to debut on MTV and MTV.com this Wednesday. Of course “It Will Rain” was the first single from the Breaking Dawn – Part 1 soundtrack.
“Hey guys, I’m still working on the ‘It Will Rain’ video,” Mars wrote. “The MTV premiere will happen in a couple weeks. Be patient for ya boy. Love y’all.”
Apparently the reason for the delay is simply the production is behind schedule. However, the good news is Christina Perri will be debuting the video for “A Thousand Years,” which is also on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack.
We will continue to wait patiently……
Snoop Dogg, Bruno Mars and Wiz Khalifa have debuted a new track called “Young, Wild & Free”. This will be the official single for Snoop and Wiz’s upcoming film, Mac and Devin Go to High School.
The film which comes out in 2012 has Snoop playing the cool kid, and Wiz playing the nerd.
Khalifa told Billboard, “We’ve got ten songs already and we’re using all ten of them. We’re just doing things that people aren’t doing these days.”
The Breaking Dawn soundtrack has been revealed. We already knew about Bruno Mars, but some surprises were added to the list.
The full track list for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ soundtrack:

Not only that, fans can purchase the Breaking Dawn soundtrack they very same day. Full details will be available on Monday through Facebook and Twitter.
Natalia Kills has been slowly murdering her way through the music industry by working with industry heavyweights (Will.i.am, Akon, LMFAO) and her debut album “Perfectionist” debuted on North American shelves this past Tuesday.
Born Natalia Keery-Fisher, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter was signed onto Interscope’s Cherrytree Records label in 2008, after the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am heard her “Wommanequin” EP. The demo was self-written and produced by Kills, showcasing talent that catapulted her into a promising direction that landed a feature on LMFAO’s single “Champagne Showers” and her debut EP.
Although she may be the best female-singer-you-haven’t-heard-of-yet, her single “Mirrors” has already cracked the top ten in Austria, Germany, Poland and the United States. A change of pace from her past-life as an actress.
Her sound is a pinch of Lady Gaga with a fiercer-punch of Kate Bush, and it has been labeled as ‘revenge-pop’, electropop and ‘synth-pop’, but she describes it as “pop with an opinion”. In other words, she delivers a much needed refreshing dose of attitude that the Christina’s and the Britney’s have faked.
“I’m a perfectionist. It’s the source of all my ambition, desire and drive. But, it’s also what destroys me sometimes.”
Her stage-name “Kills” defines that passion and mentality to commit herself entirely to her music. And as a singer-songwriter, that commitment to her art has drawn inspiration out of every aspect of her life.
“I wrote ["Free"] when I was broke and writing songs in my tiny apartment, trying to figure out how to pay the rent,” says Kills of penning her single, which she also notes as her favourite song to play live. “But, I was still happy. When I went out I felt fabulous and I wanted everyone to know that style is not dictated by how much money you have or where you shop. We should be free from our possessions and not let material things own us or effect our happiness.”
Kills has come a long way from that tiny apartment, going on tour with big names like Bruno Mars, Ke$ha, Black Eyed Peas and will be supporting Katy Perry on her California Dreams Tour later this month.
When we spoke with Kills, the sudden passing of Amy Winehouse was fresh and she felt a strong connection to the pop-singer.
“I’ve always been a huge fan, and not just because I’m English. She’s truly one of the greats, and I relate to all other artists like myself who write about personal afflictions and deeper darker places. I know from experience that when you write about your true pain it has to be because you battle with it. We were lucky to have her, and at least she gets to escape her pain now.”
Her album “The Perfectionist” can be streamed on her website and is also available in stores and on iTunes now.
Taking place on a dusty, secluded road in Calabasas, CA, on one overcast day, lead-singer Ryan Tedder’s soft whistling fills the speakers as OneRepublic’s music video for their new single, “Good Life,” plays on the computer.
In the song, Tedder, the band’s frontman and chief songwriter, sings about having the choice to live a good life no matter what hurdles or rough patches come your way.
“It’s probably the most universal lyric we have in any song on the album,” Brent Kutzle, the band’s base guitar and cello player, told andPOP. “Every other song takes a minute to really get into or to fully understand.”
Having recently released a second version of their music video for the single, “Good Life,” Kutzle feels the new edition truly reflects what the band wanted for the video. “This is the version we were initially expecting,” says Kutzle, “and [it] exceeded our expectations.”
Bad news – Bruno Mars plead guilty to felony cocaine possession in a Las Vegas court room this morning. Good news – TMZ reports that if Mars keeps out of trouble for 12 months, the charge will be removed from his record.
TMZ reports Mars is also required to do 8 hours of private counseling and 200 hours of community service with a charitable organization. He must also pay a $2,000 fine, which he’s paying today .
As we reported in September, Bruno was caught doing coke in the bathroom of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
Bruno Mars got his Las Vegas cocaine case taken care of on Friday. The 25 year old pop singer accepted a plea which allows him to pay a fine, serve probation and have a felony cocaine possession charge against him dismissed.
The case stems back to September 2010 when he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The cocaine was found on him after security at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino were alerted by a bathroom attendant that the singer was doing drugs in a stall.
Mars accepted a deal where he will pay a $2,000 fine, perform 200 hours of community service and complete drug counseling.
Interestingly, we interviewed Bruno shortly after his drug arrest. However, we avoided the issue of his pending drug trial. But we were nevertheless charmed by the “Just the Way You Are” singer.
The annual Grammy nominations were announced last night at a ceremony where Katy Perry performed her popular single “California Girls”.

Bruno Mars is making men look bad around the world. How can we compete with amazing lyrics like “When I see your face, There’s not a thing that I would change, Cause you’re amazing, Just the way you are.” Jordan spoke with Bruno about how he is ruining men’s lives everywhere, and his rise to stardom.
According to TMZ singer Bruno Mars has finally been officially charged with possession of a controlled substance after being arrested in Las Vegas last month.
On the 19th of September, Mars was arrested following an eye witness account by a hotel bathroom attendant who claims he saw the singer walk into a bathroom stall with a “baggie of white powdery substance.”
If Mars is convicted the maximum penalty is four years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Speculation as of now indicates that he won’t be serving any of that jail time though—he can thank his squeaky clean record for that.
Singer/songwriter Bruno Mars was arrested early Sunday morning in Las Vegas for suspicion of narcotics possession.
Mars (whose real name is Peter Hernandez) was arrested at 2:40am at the Hard Rock Hotel when security confronted the singer in the bathroom where he was found with narcotics. There is no word on exactly what Mars had in his possession.
