Tom Cruise paid a visit to the house of actress Brooke Shields last week, but it wasn’t to further debate the matter of postpartum depression.

Instead, Cruise offered Shields an apology for the criticisms he made last year over her choice to use psychiatric therapy and anti-depressant medications in battling postpartum depression, reports E! Online.

“[Cruise] came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology,” Shields said on Friday’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno. “And through it all, I was so impressed with how heartfelt it was.”

The two battled in the press last year after Cruise made the comments in an interview with Access Hollywood. Both psychiatry and anti-depressants are condemned by Scientology, of which Cruise is a devout follower.
