So, just as Spears began to clean up her act, Federline took a very public plunge into the depths of obesity, baring his flabby chest for the paparazzi at a pool in Miami on Saturday.

The photos available on JustJared.com, among other gossip websites, are disturbing at best, but they also beg the question as to how he can hang on to volleyball player girlfriend Victoria Prince. And obviously, how he snagged Spears in the first place?

Britney Spears’ father will continue to have control over the pop star’s conservatorship until 2009.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz will continue to allow Jaime Spears’ conservatorship over his daughter for the remainder of the year, reports E! News.

“Regarding the conservatorship of the person, I understand that Ms. Spears is reluctantly agreeing to extend those letters,” Goetz said. “We are extending them until Dec. 31, 2008.”

However, Goetz did have some good news for the singer.

“The order is without prejudice and is subject to early termination.”

The pop star was placed in her father’s care back in February. Since Jaime Spears has been given control of his daughter’s estate, Britney has enjoyed a string of personal successes—including extended access to her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 17 months.

R+B star NE-YO has hailed BRITNEY SPEARS’ live comeback last week – insisting she is still a “great entertainer.”

Wearing a brunette wig, boots, a pink bra top and a short white skirt, Spears wowed the crowds with a brief five-song comeback at San Diego’s House of Blues.

And the So Sick hitmaker, who is working with Spears on her comeback record, believes she has what it takes to get back on top.

He says, “I don’t really care what people think about her personally.

“You can’t take away from her that she was a great entertainer and I think there’s still a spot for her in this business.

Fans of BRITNEY SPEARS have poured their hearts out on the troubled pop star’s website in a series of touching posts after the TOXIC singer’s family asked them to offer up messages of support.

Spears is said to be “deeply touched” by the response of devotees from all around the world who have taken the time to pen supportive notes to her.

The singer has been unable to access the messages of support because rules at Malibu, California rehab centre Promises forbid her from using the internet – but many have been passed on to her by friends and relatives.

The messages posted on BritneySpears.com come from far-flung places like New Zealand, England and Spain.

One British fan, LAURA, writes, “I have been thinking about you and praying for you. You are the best female artist ever, all your fans are missing you and want the best for you. Relax and don’t rush yourself, we are here for as long as it takes for you to get better.”

Spears entered the Promises rehab facility in an effort to control a substance abuse problem on February 20.

R&B sensation NE-YO has given BRITNEY SPEARS a boost as she plots a comeback – he’s penning hits for her.

The SO SICK singer, whose IRREPLACEABLE has given BEYONCE KNOWLES a nine-week run at the top of the US singles chart, is writing songs for Spears’ next album.

In demand Ne-Yo, who is also writing songs for WHITNEY HOUSTON’s comeback, admits he has yet to meet Britney, but he’s convinced she’ll be back at the top of the charts again.

He tells MTV News, “I have not had the opportunity to sit down with her personally, but I’ve been working close with her A&R people. They talk to her every day and are basically coming to me with information as far as songs she’s looking for.

“I did about five or six for her so far. I don’t know what she’s going to keep, but it’s coming along nicely.

“If I had to make a prediction, judging not just the stuff I’ve done, but the stuff I’ve heard she’s done with other people, I think she’s got a shot to come back. I really do.”

Ne-Yo admits he has been given one rule when it comes to writing songs for Britney: “One thing they told me was, ‘No more songs about estranged husband KEVIN (FEDERLINE).

“She’s got a 12-CD disc changer full of songs about Kevin. She don’t need no more of those.”

Just a week after apologizing to fans for her reckless party behaviour, pop princess Britney Spears put on an extemporaneous strip tease show.

The 25 year-old singer was seen at 40 Deuce, a burlesque club in Los Angeles Sunday night.

The New York Daily News reports that Spears and her friends alledgedly got on stage between striptease acts.

Britney took off her top, exposing her bra and gyrated as astonished patrons watched.

The club’s manager reportedly asked Britney to exit the stage but that didn’t stop this wild child from getting on a second time forcing the manager to take her off again so the real show could continue.

Britney Spears and her infamous other half, husband K-Fed, have sent the entertainment world abuzz again.

Spears apparently posted a poem on her official web site, which alludes to her unhappiness in her marriage with Federline, according to MSNBC.com.

“No more chains/ That you gave me/ Enough of pain/ Manipulation is the key … They screw it in/ Because you?re na?ve/You come to me now/ Why do you bother?/ Remember the Bible/ The sins of the father/ What you do/ You pass down/ No wonder why/ I lost my crown/ You don?t see me now/ You ask yourself why my crown is back/ And it?s way too high/ For you to be in my presence/ Especially my son/ You should bow down/ I?ve only just begun,” the poem apparently said.

The posting was taken down shortly after it was posted and Spears’ publicist could not confirm that the entry was posted.

Kevin Federline, better? well, only known so far as the husband of Britney Spears, plans to release his debut rap album in August.

“Playing with Fire” still has no label attached to it, but K-Fed said in a press release today that it will be released in August.

He released his first single, “Popo Zao,” in January, but you may have never heard it because radio stations so far haven’t caught on (it’s tough when there’s nothing to catch on to).

Federline is traveling around to clubs and playing his album, but not performing. He’s also charging upwards of $12,000 to attend a listening party at a club. He’ll come, the music will play, he won’t say anything, and the even organizer will pay him at leats $12,000.

Madonna, Cher, J.Lo… and now Britney Spears will join the ranks of singing superstars who have guested on Will & Grace, which is now in its eighth and final season.

E!Online reports that the pop princess will play a conservative Christian in an episode airing on April 13. The story will revolve around how Out TV, the fictional network on which Sean Hayes’s character Jack hosts a talk show, is bought by a Christian TV network. This leads to Spears becoming Jack’s co-host and adding a cooking segment of her own called “Cruci-fixin’s.”

Spears is no stranger to the small screen, what with her childhood days on The Mickey Mouse Club and her venture into reality TV. She’s also set to begin work on In the Pink, her first movie since 2002’s Crossroads.
