It’s kind of frustrating that boy band rivalries seem to be a rule. People like to add a little extra drama to their day and pin bands against each other. It happened with the Backstreet Boys and ‘N Sync and now it’s happening to The Wanted and One Direction. Can’t they all just get along? I mean, Justin Bieber collaborates with every artist out there.
TMZ was reporting that The Wanted and One Direction nearly got into a West Side Story brawl when they both booked the same rehearsal space in Burbank. When One Direction heard The Wanted was on their way, they considered fleeing the space to go into hiding. The guys were surely worried about getting their hair tousled in a fight or worse a Glee-off.
Luckily, peacemakers Liam from One Direction and Max from The Wanted actually hugged each other and broke the ice. Then the two bands laughed about it, except for Louis who apparently went to a corner and gritted his teeth.
When TMZ asked Nathan Sykes about it, he assured them there was nothing wrong: “We were rehearsing with them the other day and we heard their band rehearsing and we were like, walking into the studio really embarrassingly singing the song their band was rehearsing to,” he said. “Then we turned around and saw them sitting there, and we were like, ‘Well, that was embarrassing!’” He laughed it off: “I was texting Liam earlier! We’re all pals.”
Crisis averted.
Seriously, this could happen to anybody. You are at your cousin’s funeral, and you end up getting into a brawl with your other cousin. It happens all the time, right?
Well it happened to The Game back in 2008. The Game was at the funeral for his cousin when he and four others ended up brawling with the deceased’s brother, Robert Kirkwood. Later in the year, Kirkwood filed suit against The Game for injuries sustained in the fight.
According to TMZ, an L.A. judge was sympathetic to Kirkwood and is ordering Game – real name Jayceon Taylor- to pay $50,580 in damages.
The Game probably never had a chance winning this case. Seriously, brawling at a funeral!! Come on dude.
