Haven’t you always wondered what a Persian Jersey Shore TV show would look like? Well you can stop wondering, it is happening thanks to Ryan Seacrest.
Yes, Ryan Seacrest is spreading his media wings and will be making the show with Bravo. The show currently titled Shahs of Sunset will follow wealthy Persian people in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Times says, ”Armed with chromed-out cars, logo-ridden purses and designer outfits, they’ve got it and they’re not afraid to flaunt it,” Bravo said in a statement, while adding that the group also “knows the value of family and tradition.”
Yes, who wouldn’t want to watch this. Now we can find out which ethnic stereotype is more tacky – Italians from New Jersey or Persians from Los Angeles. Whose taking bets?
Apparently real housewives in D.C. aren’t very interesting. Washington Post reports that Bravo officially pulled the plug on the ‘The Real Housewives of D.C.’ Thursday.
Andy Cohen of Bravo said, “We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise. I wish all our DC Wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity.”
Is this really a great loss for TV? Probably not. In fact the world may be better off if the whole franchise is cancelled. Here’s hoping!
TMZ is reporting that Vicki Gunvalson from “Real Housewives of Orange County” has divorced her husband Donn Gunvalson.
The reality TV star filed documents for dissolution of marriage in an Orange County court on Monday. The couple were married in 1994.
Coincidentally, the couple renewed their wedding vows in July 2009. Vicky admitted that their marriage was having issues and needed a “new start.”
So does this mean she will be kicked of ”Real Housewives of Orange County?” She isn’t technically a housewife anymore.
This can’t be sending a positive message to all the young and impressionable kids out there. White House party crasher Michaele Salahi has been cast on the upcoming Bravo series “Real Housewives of D.C.,” according to The Daily Beast.
After one of the most outrageous auditions in history that almost cost presidential Social Secretary Desiree Rogers her job, Michaele and her husband Tareq have landed the gig. According to the report, all 12 episodes of the upcoming season have been shot, which are expected to start airing in July.
The couple are contractually obligated not to speak about their participation in the program. However expect an orchestrated press tour prior to the launch of the show, with an already set date with Matt Lauer on the Today Show on May 27.
NBC doesn’t want to let go of ‘Project Runway.’ The company is going to court in an attempt to block the show from moving to Lifetime.
The network accused the Weinstein Company, which owns ‘Project Runway’, of “violating its rights by making the deal with Lifetime,” the New York Times reports.
According to NBC, they were promised the opportunity to match any offers made for the program. They claim that Harvey Weinstein, the chief executive of the Weinstein Company, made the deal with Lifetime in February and continued to make fake negotiations for two more months.
The Weinstein Company’s lawyer, David Boies, stated that “We believe that this lawsuit is without merit. While good for the market for lawyers, it is always unfortunate when parties try to win in court what they have lost in the marketplace.”
‘Project Runway’ is supposed to debut on Lifetime in November.
