The dolls that are giving Barbie a run for her money are set to hit the big screen.

The sassy Bratz dolls transform into four real girls in the Bratz: The Movie, opening in theatres this Friday.

The story isn’t actually a sci-fi flick about four dolls that morph into humans; it’s a teen drama based on the dolls. Sasha, Jade, Cloe and Yasmin are close friends, but can they stay best friends now that they’re in high school, or will they separate into different cliques?

andPOP sat down with the four lead actresses – Logan Browning, Janel Parrish, Skyler Shaye and Nathalia Ramos – to talk about the film, the “food fight” scene, Arrested Development, and what is coming up next.

Just weeks before Bratz: The Movie hits theatres in August, Bratz: The Movie dolls were unveiled at last month’s 2007 MuchMusic Video Awards and they turned out to be some of the hottest items in the celebrity gift lounge.

“Yasmin is breathtaking,” Sam Roberts remarked before he took one of the dolls home for his daughter.

Avril Lavigne, Fergie and Maroon 5 were some of the other celebs who showed some love for the dolls.

The dolls will be in stores in August, around the time the movie is released.

“Too bad I’m too old to be in it,” Fergie said.
