Bradley Cooper Agrees Ryan Gosling Should Be ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Instead

The 36-year-old actor who was recently crowned People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, says he’s not phased by that titled. In a recent appearance on BBC’s “The Graham Norton Show”, E! reports Bradley Cooper spoke out about all his unsexy moments in life.

“I swear to God. I’ll have a lot of moments where I’ll be walking out, and I’ll open up the door and go, ‘I could’ve done that a lot sexier. That was not very sexy,’” he says.

Bradley’s aware of all the negative response on the internet regarding his new title. Many websites were peeved that Ryan Gosling was snubbed from the top spot. The two men actually met up in Paris last week and so they must have joked about it together.

“A friend of mine showed me, there was photographs from paparazzi…and when I say ‘friend,’ I mean me, alone in my room looking at the computer…it was of him walking around, and he literally looks like he just came off the runway,” Bradley says about his buddy Ryan. “And there’s ones of me, and I literally look like the neighbour that never comes out of his house and when he does it makes you go, like, maybe he should just stay in.”

Bradley is almost too kind and humble about this whole Sexiest Man Alive label. “The Hangover” star must be aware of the multitude of women who find him attractive and wouldn’t mind running away with him in Vegas. Lucky for Bradley fans, The Hangover series will now be a trilogy. E! says filming for the third installment will begin next September.

The peeps at People Magazine were probably smitten by his bright blue eyes and shiny, golden blonde locks because they named Hangover star Bradley Cooper as the sexiest man alive.

This may come as a shock for some ladies who were expecting the crown and sash to be handed to Ryan Gosling or Robert Pattinson.

It seems Bradley won because he’s a Georgetown grad, a good cook, an avid motorcyclist and fluent in French. If he’s also good at doing my taxes then I’ll be uploading my marriage proposal on YouTube pretty soon.

The Hangover II Trailer is Released

The full-length trailer for “The Hangover: Part II” has arrived. The film stars original cast mates Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, and they are back for another round of crazy mishaps. This time, in Bangkok, Thailand.

If this trailer looks a little like the first one, you’re right on the money. Many of the scenes we’re seeing in this new trailer are very reminiscent of the first film – they get drunk, they wake up in a strange place, they loose someone, they find a monkey instead of a tiger.

But there are enough new differences to make the movie feel fresh: For example, Stu’s tattoo instead of a missing tooth. Yikes.

I’m sure everyone is very excited for this movie – it was a huge success the first time around. But I have to ask, will it be as funny the second time? Does waking up hung over really stay funny when done over and over again? My guess is yes, but it really shouldn’t be. Oh well, check out the trailer below. The film is set for a Memorial Day release, on May 30.

Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger Split

According to a report in Us Magazine, Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger have split. Yet another couple to bite the dust!

After almost two years together, multiple sources confirmed to Us that the couple have split. Reps for both Cooper and Zellweger had no comment, though.

Cooper, who stars in “Limitless” this month, first met Oscar-winner Zellweger six years ago on the set of their thriller “Case 39.” Their romance didn’t bloom until summer 2009.

Both stars have had short-lived marriages in the past: Cooper was married to actress Jennifer Esposito, while Zellweger to singer Kenny Chesney. Interesting enough, the couple have always, always remained private about their relationship in the press. When asked about Zellweger in Details magazine in the June/July 2010 issue, Cooper retorted, “I just can’t.” Well then.

I’m never really shocked by celebrity splits, unless it’s like, Brangelina or something. I always found this couple rather odd – Cooper is 36, Zellweger is 41. Thats like a 40 year age difference in Hollywood. Just kidding. But in all honestly, they were a mismatched couple. I see Cooper with someone like Jessica Biel or Jessica Alba, while Zellweger is more suitable with a George Clooney, Richard Gere, distinguished type. Whatever, they are both rich and famous, so I’m sure they will find one suitable. Time to play the field!

Movie Review: Limitless

Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is a thirty something aspiring writer. However, his aspirations are hindered by his laziness and his drinking habits. He is an aimless denizen of New York City, where failing writers are infinite. One day, Eddie runs into his former brother-in-law,Vernon, who he hasn’t seen for a number of years. Vernon is the shady type, but he appears to have gotten his act together.Vernon introduces Eddie to a pill called NZT that is supposedly FDA approved. After consuming the NZT, like Godspeed Eddie is able to write his novel in the span of three days and become a a king of Wall Street.

The only downside? Painful addiction, withdrawals which include blackouts, migraines, and your casual homicide. In the meantime Eddie is being tracked down by local gangsters and other NZT users for his stash of pills that is quickly running out.

The premise of the film is intriguing. It is kind of a pseudo sci-fi with a real life application, the obvious, drug addiction. The visual effects are evocative of those used in Requiem for a Dream to portray x-ray shots of ingestion and other bodily processes. There are definite moments of wry humor as Eddie successfully fools the Wall Street geniuses, including a tired looking DeNiro, and is praised for his worldliness at cocktail parties. Abbie Cornish plays Lindy, Eddie’s love interest, it seems she was miscast for the role. Her character is an attempt to juxtapose Eddie’s craziness and addiction with a stable individual. However, there is no real chemistry and her character falls flat. Cooper on the other hand is humorous and believable. He took his role in The Hangover and added a little darkness and addiction to it.

The film is a fun ride. It doesn’t require much thinking. It is mainly just a wild story that could be a larger metaphor for a discussion of drugs and addiction but it doesn’t really go there. The narrative is more caught up with the chaos that ensues after Eddie “enters the void”. The final stretch of the film is the most enjoyable part as Burger lets loose and some very grotesque gags follow that are entirely unexpected for this type of film.

Bill Clinton Gets a Hangover

Radar Online is reporting that former president Bill Clinton has shot a cameo for The Hangover 2. Clinton joined the film’s stars Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper in Thailand this weekend to shoot a few short scenes for the upcoming flick.

Clinton delivered a speech on clean energy in Bangkok before joining the boys on set.

Bill Clinton was a way better choice for a cameo than Mel Gibson. Plus, with all due respect, Clinton seems like the kind of guy that knows how to party.

We can’t wait to see the movie now!

Movie Review: New York, I Love You

Sorry “New York, I Love You,” not everyone will fall head over heels for you. The film interlocks a series of shorts from 11 directors – all based in The Big Apple.

Of course, a vignette set in New York City has only one place to start off: a yellow taxicab. “Hangover” buddies Bradley Cooper and Justin Bartha kick off the movie by playing strangers who land the same cab. But aside from the yellow car, a few distinct restaurants and references to Central Park, “New York, I Love” seems like it could take place in any other metropolis. It fails to show what makes New York one of the most visited cities in the world.

To be fair, each director had only two days to shoot their short film and a week to edit each segment. But you would think that a diverse group of directors from around the world (including Yvan Attal from France, Jiang Wen from China, Shekhar Kapur and others) would paint a multicultural picture of New York –which is not the case. That being said, at least there’s an abundance of love in this movie, ranging from platonic love to parental.

There are definitely worthwhile moments as well as both acting and directing revelations in “New York, I Love You.” Natalie Portman, for example, takes both a behind the camera role and an on-screen one (playing a Hasidic diamond broker). The short she directs, featuring Taylor Geare (who plays Portman’s daughter in the upcoming movie “Brothers”), is a highlight of the movie. Also keep an eye out for Anton Yelchin who had a supporting role in this year’s revamped “Star Trek.” He proves in this movie that he could very well give both Michael Cera and Jesse Eisenberg a run for their money.

“New York, I Love You” brings together a mishmash of young Hollywood stars including Blake Lively, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson, Christina Ricci, Hayden Christensen, Olivia Thirlby and Shia LaBeouf in what seems to be an attempt at attracting a younger crowd to see the film. However, it fails to have that “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” vibe.

Produced by the same people who brought you “Paris, je t’aime,” this movie is the second film in the Cities of Love franchise. The next stop will be Shanghai, followed by Rio de Janeiro and Jerusalem.

While you may not love “New York, I Love You” there’s bound to be parts you’ll enjoy.

Bradley Cooper’s ‘Hangover’ Well Earned

Bradley Cooper gained two important things from shooting his upcoming hyped summer comedy flick The Hangover.

The first being his now refined Yoda-like knowledge of throwing the perfect bachelor party- which he says should include condoms, a muppet, and lots of ice.

But the second, and by far gaining the most buzz, is Cooper’s promotion of a lifetime from a working actor, to well, a movie star.

Only, if you ask the humble 34-year-old North Philly about the hype, you’ll suddenly be hauled back down to earth.

“I don’t feel any of that and maybe I should,” Cooper tells andPOP modestly, trying to keep the excitement at bay. A failed attempt, considering Warner Bros. Entertainment already gave the green light to a sequel in 2011 even before the current film hits theaters on June 5.

“I will admit this though,” he says, “I do have a bigger role in the movie than usual which I really liked.”

A lot bigger. Try the de facto lead role or “the cool alpha-male character,” as co-star Ed Helms puts it.

Cooper stars as Phil, the front-man of four buddies who head off for a wild bachelor party in Las Vegas. But how wild? Well imagine waking up the following morning only to find your groom missing, your memory from the night before erased, and your $4,000 Vegas hotel suite trashed, to say the least.

Though “trashed” is generally an understatement when a chicken is waddling around the living room, Mike Tyson’s pet tiger is in the bathroom, and an abandoned six-month-old infant is crying in the closet.

“That set design was literally crazy” recalls Cooper. “We had a bowling alley, an amazing castle made out of cards that would have taken months to do, and there was also a whole other castle made out of beer bottles. So much detail.”

Adds the actor, “And the fact that they nixed the whole bachelor party sequence, makes the story so appealing. With the group trying to find clues as to what happened the night before- it’s almost like a detective or mystery story.”

Moving up on Hollywood’s totem pole, Cooper’s role required two crucial assets: superb comic timing and leadership, both which the actor had in spades.

His well-known ability in the comedy genre is evident. With supporting roles in Wedding Crashers, Yes Man, and He’s Just Not That Into You, Cooper knows how to make people laugh- but was long overdue to be given the reigns.

Sure enough, Director Todd Phillips -known for his work in Old School, Starsky and Hutch, and Road Trip- knew Cooper’s potential, and was 100% sure that the actor was a born leader and ready to prove it.

“I was really impressed with him (Todd),” says Cooper. “He has this ability to know what he likes and wants, and then get the most of of people.

“It definitely took some convincing from him to help me embrace the role, I just wasn’t feeling it right in the beginning. Phil’s just that guy who reeks of leadership, the guy who everyone turns to to solve everything.”

It’s a funny predicament considering Cooper is one of those actors who you would call a total contrast to their characters on-screen. Sure, his resume of roles in films tend to be the cocky, rowdy ringleaders, but here at the Windsor Arms hotel in Toronto, the guy couldn’t be more gentle and sincere if he tried. Beats him why he’s usually cast as the “jerk,” but Cooper explains how the character in The Hangover is different.

“You eventually realize,” says the actor, “that Phil doesn’t really go there to sleep with hookers and stuff, but that he’s an elementary school teacher and also a caring father.”

“He used to be a party guy- with the girls, booze and Vegas- but now he’s going along with the ride and trying to make his friend’s bachelor night the greatest. His buddies mean everything to him.”

Cooper found he was able relate to that kind of character, as those were the kinds of figures he had in his life as a kid growing up in an Italian/Irish family in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.

“I knew fathers like that,” says Cooper, who would later on graduate with a B.A. in English from Georgetown University in 1997, and then a Masters in Fine Arts from the Actors Studio at New School University.

“You know they talk the big game, but they’re at every little league game, they have complete love and care for their children.”

With an initiation into the business in a 1998 episode on Sex and the City, Cooper has since then managed to swiftly maneuver through times as a supporting guy in someone else ’s hit movie- whether it be Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn’s Wedding Crashers, Matthew McConaughey’s Failure to Launch or Jim Carrey’s Yes Man.

This time though, with the scales tipped in his favor, Cooper was the one fortunate to have a thriving supporting cast: fresh up-and-coming faces like Helms (NBC’s The Office), Zach Galifianakis (The Comedy Network) and Justin Bartha (National Treasure).

“Such funny guys,” says Cooper. “I tell you, we had such great chemistry, we played off each other perfectly.”

Stuck in Vegas for a month-and-a-half in the Fall, it was a combo destined to get lucky. But despite the endless entertaining opportunities in Sin City, Cooper reveals that with exhausting 16 hour work days, the crew rarely indulged and went out on the town.

“We never had anytime to go out after shooting,” he explains. “It was a lot of work, we would just get some sleep.”

Well almost. “We did crash Nick Cannon’s birthday party though,” Cooper says with a smirk, referring to the party hosted by Cannon’s wife Mariah Carey at PURE nightclub.

However, on cue, the actor refrains from elaborating on any further details, and only gives the age-old mantra “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
