The Wanted has announced that member Nathan Sykes will be taking an unforeseen hiatus following his throat surgery on Thursday April 19th.
“Our lil Nath has to go in for an operation on his throat, on his birthday to make him better,” the group wrote on their Facebook page. “So please join us in wishing our brother and our friend well. Get well soon Nath, we love ya!”
The 19-year-old singer will have to rest his voice for about a month after the operation.
“The priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible,” said his reps. “The remaining four members of The Wanted will continue fulfilling the bands promotional commitments across the world.”
The band’s E! reality show The Wanted Life is set to premiere on June 2nd.
We hope Nathan has a speedy recovery!

1. Why did no one tell the Backstreet Boys that the Harlem Shake is dead?
2. Nick Carter is pretending to be New York City’s singing cowboy, a.k.a. he’s practically naked.
Enjoy, ladies and gents.
With NKOTB, 98 degrees, and Boys II Men anouncing a spring tour this week, I thought it was only fitting to make a list of our fave boy band hits from the 90s. These guys helped pave the way for our beloved One Direction and the Wanted.
Warning, the following videos will cause uncontrollable singing and an irreversible condition of being unable to forget the songs for days.
10. B44 – Get Down
This Canadian boy band is probably the worst export we’ve ever had. Not only is this song terrible, so is the hair, and the fact it is the catchiest song ever. Everyone remembers this song, unfortunately, I’ve brought it back.
9. B2K – Uh huh
This track was one of the biggest hits this band ever had. Lil’ Fizz, J-Boog, Raz-B and Omarion, made up the four-piece boy band. Nothing has come out for them in years, but Omarion has signed with Maybach Music Group. MMG is Rick Ross’s music label empire, which also has Wale and Meek Mill. Like Rick Ross, this doesn’t sound the least bit gangsta, but that’s why it’s on the list.
8. The Moffats – Misery
I think I was the only girl my age that didn’t have a crush on these guys. Regardless, the Moffats were big and all my friends went to their concerts. I have a confession: I actually kind of like this song. I may or may not have it on my iPod.
7. Boys II men – End of the Road Read more…
Beware ladies (mostly middle-aged moms): New Kids on the Block are coming for you!
The eighties boy band super group announced on the View Tuesday morning that they will be heading out on the road with none other than the masters of the break-up song, Boyz II Men, and Jessica Simpson’s ex-husband’s boy band, 98 Degrees.
Considering no one in their right mind would shell out money just to only see one boy band try to crawl back to their former glory, the boy band love fest has aptly been named “The Package Tour.” They’re kind of like pizzas: it’s a three for one deal!
The summer long spectacle will mark the first time 98 Degrees has toured together since reuniting last summer.
The 30-show tour kicks off on May 31, 2013 in Uncasville, Conn. and will include three Canadian shows in Ottawa (June 4), Montreal (June 6) and in Toronto (June 7).
The boys of One Direction may already have adoring fans around the world. But let’s remember that they wouldn’t be here without their parents.
So rather than letting the boys take most of the credit, a duo who goes by the name Big Clown Little Clown have released a song dedicated to the mums of One Direction. And due to its popularity, the two are even releasing it to the public to help raise money for a charity that benefits sick children.
Having listened to the song, Harry Styles’ mom Anne Cox is already a fan.
“I first heard the song when Luke & Dave sent it to me a while back, I love it!” she said. “The guys have a brilliant sense of fun, and it’s very tongue-in-cheek.”
“I know myself how hard it is to raise funds for a charity and the help that this will bring to Believe In Magic is wonderful. It’s hard to ask people to ‘give give give’ all the time, so this gives people a chance to help whilst getting something back,” continued Cox. “It’s fantastic and I’d personally like to thank the guys on behalf of BIM.”
How cute!! Now how about some love for the 1D dads??
Emblem3 already has a solid group of fangirls obsessing over them and it’s not hard to understand why. They’re pretty charming over the phone, asking me where I’m from (Canada), if I’ve ever been to Banff (No), and joking about when we should all meet up (next time you’re in Toronto gents, *wink).
It’s hardly worth mentioning that the Huntington Beach band has been compared to X-Factor veterans One Direction, since their sounds are completely different. While One Direction is a boy band, Emblem 3 is a trio who play their own instruments. A common description of Emblem3: ”Its like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz had a baby and Lil Wayne was baby sitting.”
The guys, consisting of Wesley Stromberg, Keaton Stromberg and Drew Chadwick, performed an original song called “Sunset Boulevard” during their audition. They’re currently being mentored by Simon Cowell, and waiting to see if they made it to the finals.
Where are you right now?
Wesley: Huntington Beach at a kitchen table. The crib!
What sets you apart?
Wesley: We were established as a group before and were literally playing shows in clubs at ages 9, 11 and 13. It’s a little bit of a leg up. [They recorded an album in their basement called Bite Your Lip and Take It.]
Keaton: A lot of the other people don’t have that same experience of performing before this so when they go on that stage it makes them more nervous.
You’re already getting fangirls. How do you deal?
Drew: Some of these girls are like teeny boppers and they say the most adorable, cute sh*t all the time on Twitter and I literally want to hang out with them and watch movies and stuff!
Biggest musical influences:
All: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Mac Miller, Jack Johnson, Young the Giant. An eclectic mix.
Two of you are brothers. Do you get in sibling rivalries?
Drew: We get along but we butt heads over little things because we’re together every single day. But it’s cool for improving each other because we can be a bit competitive.
Toughest Judge
All: Britney Spears.
Last song performed: ”Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” by Police
Writing stories about your favourite boy band can be taken as a high form of flattery. But when the two members happen to date in them, things can get pretty awkward.
During an interview with Tumblr, Louis Tomlinson opened up about the difficulties he faces with his public life when asked if he ever feels pressure to live up to the “characters” his fans create through fan-fiction. A popular topic surrounding these stories often include him and fellow member Harry Styles, dubbing the pairing as “Larry Stylinson.”
“This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with as I am in a relationship,” said Tomlinson.
“Me and Harry are best friends, people look into our every move. It is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public: We want to joke around but there seems to be a different rumour every time we do anything. I act the same way with Harry as I do any of the other boys and my childhood friend Stan.”
While I’m not a big reader of fan fictions, I can imagine how weird it can get when it involves you and a close, platonic friend in a romantic relationship. Let’s just hope these fans don’t mix up their imaginations with reality!!

One Direction stopped by the Today Show and revealed some very important information about who the most romantic member of the band is. I’m not all that surprised to hear it was a two way tie between Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, who both unfortunately have GFs. Both Harry Styles and Louis chose Liam as the most romantic, while Zayn Malik and Liam voted for Louis. As for the indecisive Niall, he said either one of them.
Award for shyest member of the band went to Zayn Malik (d’aw) and Harry Styles is not surprisingly the biggest attention-whore.
I don’t think interviewer Jenna Bush Hager realized how envious all the screaming girls outside were of her, though she did start blushing when the guys joked she was a cougar.
Best moment of the interview (other than outing the romantics of the group) was when the band demonstrated their poor dance moves, which included the fist pump and something they cleverly dubbed the sprinkler.
Watch it here:

And all of a sudden, many teenage hearts broke in half.
Zayn Malik of hit boy band One Direction has admitted in an interview that he doesn’t know if the band has “longevity”.
“There’s no guarantee that we’re going to have longevity, there’s nothing certain about what we’re doing,” he said. “We don’t really understand it but we’re just enjoying it and enjoying the roller coaster.”
*GASP*
One Direction is probably the most successful band on the planet at this moment, selling out arenas and having to add extra concert dates. However, I do think he has a point.Like any band, you can’t expect them to stay together forever as the grow older.
But hey, at least they’re enjoying the ride now as they dominate the music charts. And besides, if they ever break up, there are always the reunion tours to look forward to!
On another note, Zayn decided to get a new tattoo in New Zealand.
Getting a new line of script inked just above his chest on his left collarbone, he revealed his body art on Twitter.
“For every1 asking what the new tatt means it says be true to who you are,” he tweeted.
Well, every band needs a resident bad boy. I think Zayn takes that role!

Ringing from the after-effect of girls’ screams, I mean.
A little band called One Direction stopped by Kiss FM in Chicago and performed their hit “What Makes You Beautiful,” causing tweens around the world to combust from overload boy band-ness (it’s a real thing, I promise).
Anyway, the five guys answered a couple questions, including: Who has the best American accent? However, it’s hard to hear the answer as a couple girls continually shouted “NIALL!”
One only needs to read the YouTube comments to see the general reaction: “I’m like dying watching this, I wish I could get so close to them.” My fave is the girl who seems to keep track of the boys’ sock choices: “louis’ wearing socks… chicago has changed you!” Deep.
Pop band O-Town are back together and recording some new tracks. Four of the five guys are back, and they were spotted leaving a LA studio together, reports TooFab.
The pop band was created from the ABC show Making The Band, and 11 years later the guys are back. The group is composed of Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, Dan Miller and Erik-Michael Estrada. Ashley Parker Angel left the band and has not rejoined.
A source told TooFab the new songs are “coming great” and they hope to have an album out by the end of the year.
The question remains if they will be able to top their #1 hit “Liquid Dreams.” Remember that track?
Despite the mediocre dance steps, less-than exemplary vocals, and cheesy end-poses following their performance, it was hard to not get excited as NKOTBSB (the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys collaboration name) poured their heart and souls into singing their new single, “Don’t Turn out the Lights,” during the results show of Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night.
Backstreet Boys also performed their song, “I Want it That Way,” back-to-back with the New Kids on the Block performance of the ever-loved “Step By Step.”
While the singing was strained and not all that exceptional, the bands stuck true to the typical boy-band performance, with the synchronized dancing and all, which made up for the lack of singing-talent that was expressed. It was definitely exciting to see these two bands perform together once again, albeit the fact that it might be their last attempt at some sort of come back (although the DDub himself, Donny Wahlberg, only has about 180,000 followers compared to the c.400,000 of Ryan Butler, who is famous for none other than being Justin Bieber’s best friend, let alone Bieber’s own over-9,000,000 followers; it seems boy bands are just not as valued as they used to be).
Along with their joint album which is to be released soon, NKOTBSB will also be hitting the road together on tour (which this performance gives a small preview of), kicking the festivities off at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, on May 25, and going through until the last show on July 6 in Anaheim, CA.
Their album, which will be released on May 24, will be comprised of New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys songs off their previous CDs, as well as three NKOTBSB singles; “Don’t Turn out the Lights,” “All in my Head”, and the “NKOTBSB Mash Up.”

It’s been 13 years since All-4-One’s peak popularity in the 1990′s- winning at the 1995 Grammy Awards and having their hit single I Swear certified by the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) as one of the greatest love songs of the 20th century.
But now on the verge of resurfacing to the music industry and releasing their most successfully expected album to-date No Regrets on September 15, the four-man R&B band is ready to bring back a piece of work that caters to all.
“This record is a lot more exciting,” singer Jamie Jones tells andPOP. “We had a ton more leeway in the production and the writing, and just having the opportunity to make the record we wanted to make.”
“When we we’re making it, we agreed that regardless of the reception, we’re proud of it, and we’re happy with this body of work.”
U.S. federal authorities and former boy band manager, Lou Pearlman agreed that Pearlman, must repay $300 million in stolen money to banks and investors on Wednesday.
According to MSN.com, Pearlman defrauded about 1000 people of $195 million in a phony savings program. He also took out $126.7 million in fraudulent loans from federally insured banks and swindled $70 million from people who believed that they were purchasing shares in Pearlman’s company.
Although Pearlman made millions in the nineties, he now has very few assets with which to repay investors and banks.
U.S. District Judge G. Kendall Sharpe said in May that he would reduce Pearlman’s sentence by one month for each $1 million he repayed. So far, Pearlman has not paid any additional money.
He is currently serving a 25-year jail term for fraud.
