Engagement rumours were already swirling but now they’re heating up even more, after Bobbi Kristina Brown was spotted wearing an engagement ring.
The late singer Whitney Houston’s 19-year-old daughter was photographed in Atlanta over the weekend with her “adopted brother” Nick Gordon, wearing a big rock on her ringfinger. Although Gordon was never formally adopted by Houston, he was taken in by the family several years ago as an alternative to joining the army.
Gordon seemed to confirm their relationship on Twitter, saying that the two have gotten a little closer. However, he has since shut down his account and denied the dating rumours to ABC News.
Still… the ring’s certainly not going to stop the rumours.

The relationship between Whitney Houston’s daughter and the man raised by the singer as a son may be getting a lot more serious.
Just a little over a month after the “I Will Always Love You” singer passed away, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was spotted with a ring on her engagement finger following days of very public PDA with her boyfriend Nick Gordon.
According to People, a source tells them, “Yes, they are engaged, but the family is trying to coax her away from it.”
Another source says, “Nick asked Krissi about a week ago to marry him” and that she’s wearing a ring that once belonged to her mom.
However, the source doesn’t know if Brown said yes.
Since information from “a source” never sounds very trustworthy, I’m not going to look into this too much.
It may seem a little odd for Bobbi Kristina to date her “adopted brother” but she does have a right to date whoever she wants.
And plus, it’s not like they’re blood-related.

For the whole world Whitney Houston was an icon, but for Bobbi Kristina Brown she was just “mom.” The 19-year-old opened up about her mother’s Feb. 11 death to Oprah and the interview aired last night on OWN.
Bobbi said she feels her mom’s presence everyday and that sleeping in the house right after her death was impossible.
“I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you,’” Brown said. “She’s always with me. I can always feel her. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me,’Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.’”
Although it’s still difficult to listen to her mom’s music, Bobbi said she hopes to carry on her mother’s work through singing, acting and dancing. “I have to carry on the legacy,” she said. “We’re going to do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing.” That’s a lot of pressure for a young girl, but Bobbi has been in the spotlight since she was young, even performing on stage at her mother’s concerts.
Although Bobbi was composed throughout the whole interview, I still think it was too soon. The girl just lost her mother and has survived a media storm of accusations about her supposed drug use and relationship with her father.
Do you think it was too soon?

Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown reportedly wants to change her name because of its association with her father. TMZ is reporting that she can’t stand the connection and wants to simply change it to “Kristina Houston.”
Apparently she’s told friends that she has wanted to change it for years, ever since her parents split in 2000, but Houston wouldn’t allow her to do it. After her father made a scene at his ex-wife’s funeral last month over seating arrangements for his huge group, Bobbi decided she’d had enough.
It’s unclear whether she plans to make the change official. For now, it’s being reported that the 19-year-old is in a good state of mind.
I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to deal with the death of a friend or family member while the whole world is watching and scrutinizing your every move. That’s why I feel for Bobbi Kristina Brown. After making headlines last week for falling asleep in a bathtub in the same hotel where her mother died, she is back in the spotlight for allegedly getting high after her mother’s funeral.
A couple hours after the funeral the family went to eat at a nearby restaurant but couldn’t find Bobbi. Two sources told The Daily Beast that she was found using drugs and that her family didn’t find her until just before the burial on Sunday morning.
Since then, the media has erupted with questions of whether she has a drug problem. Although her family won’t say she has a problem, it was reported well before Whitney’s death that Bobbi was photographed snorting cocaine.
Her spiral downwards is not uncommon with celebrities so it’s true that her behaviour shouldn’t be treated lightly. However, the girl’s mother just died and constantly berating her in the press isn’t going to make the situation any better. I can understand what lengths someone might go to to neutralize such fresh pain. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not condoning drugs in any way, I’m just saying that she has been through a lot and it’s not nice to kick her when she’s already down.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about the situation. What do you think?
Only 1500 people will be attending Whitney Houston’s funeral this Saturday. Among them will be musicians Brandy and Chaka Khan, songwriter Diane Warren, and record producer Antonio L.A. Reid.
Though we’re not sure who’ll be speaking, it’s reported that Kevin Costner, her costar in The Bodyguard, will say a few words alongside Clive Davis, while Whitney’s godmother Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder are both expected to sing.
Unfortunately fans won’t be able to get inside the New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey but it will be aired online so everyone can pay their final respects.
