Miley Cyrus’ left arm is more decorated these days with her sparkly engagement ring, and now a new tattoo on her forearm. Her new ink reads, “So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.
No, those eloquent words are not from a yet-to-be-recorded song. It’s actually a snippet from former American president Theodore Roosevelt’s 1910 speech at the Sorbonne in Paris. Who knew Cyrus was a politics nerd?
Cyrus is no stranger to the tattoo needle. At the precious age of 19, she already boasts quite the assortment of body art, including the word “love” on her ear, a dream catcher on her side (ouch!) and an anchor on her wrist.
Cyrus also changed her Twitter profile photo to an adorable photo of herself and fiancé Liam Hemsworth. Rumour has it that Papa Cyrus (Billy Ray Cyrus to parents) isn’t too thrilled about the engagement and hopes it lasts for a long time. Though, if she is in a rush to get to the alter, I hope she asks for a prenup.
After announcing their split last year, Billy Ray Cyrus is now claiming that he and his wife Trish have decided to reconcile, MTV News reports.
“I dropped the divorce,” Miley Cyrus’ dad told “The View” hosts during a pre-taped appearance that aired on Friday. ”I wanted to put my family back together.”
Cyrus was on the show to promote his new album, I’m an American, out in June. He claimed his family are working out their problems. Which is good, because Billy Ray and Trish have been married for 17 years. Counts for something.
“Communication I think is one of the biggest problems that we as human beings have in this whole world,” he said. “And I think for the first time me and my entire family are finally communicating with each other in a way that, it’s been quite some time … and to answer your question, things are really the best they’ve ever been.”
Cyrus also retracted the controversial statements he made in a GQ interview, in which he said that his and Miley’s hit Disney series “Hannah Montana” destroyed his family. ”I feel like I kind of got my Miley back in a way,” he said. “I feel like we are the daddy and the daughter that we were before ‘Hannah Montana’ happened. I love ‘Hannah Montana.’ I love Disney. That didn’t tear my family apart.”
I’ve never been a fan of fathers who discuss every detail of their personal lives with the media. I mean, Michael Lohan anyone? That being said, though, I am glad Billy Ray is talking about these issues. I’m glad he’s moving forward in a positive way and genuinely taking back all the negative things he’s said in the past.
After a tough year, including the flak he’s gotten for the GQ interview and Miley’s salvia controversy, I’m really rooting for this family to get back on their feet. If not, it’ll break my “Achy Breaky Heart!”

The lamest TV dad in the world (sorry Danny Tanner), Billy Ray Cyrus, has decided that he and Miley’s mother, Tish, should try and work things out.
Billy Ray appeared on The View this morning and told the clucking hen club about how the past few weeks have really changed his view on things, especially his relationship with his wife Tish. Somewhat surprising considering “the past few weeks” when he went on a public rant about how the Hannah Montana show ruined his life, his marriage and his family.
Nevertheless, Billy said the following on the show this morning:
“I’ve dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been. I feel like I got my Miley back in a way. I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened.”
Really, Billy? And you decided to announce this on a show that airs at noon? For the housewife demographic?
I give him two years before he’s sitting beside Snooki on Celebrity Rehab. Just sayin.
No, this is not a joke and you did read that headline correctly. Over the weekend, Miley Cyrus was honored with the Global Action Youth Leadership Award. Digital Spy reports Hillary Duff presented Miley with the award.
“I got to tell you that I never thought I would get an award from Hilary Duff,” she said. “This is like a dream come true to me. She inspired me,” says Miley.
She continued her acceptance speech, urging kids to follow their own dreams, and not just the dreams of those around them.
“I want [kids] to do something they love,” Cyrus said. “Not something that seems like a chore because someone tells them that’s the right thing to do or what their parents want or what’s important to people around them, but what’s in their heart.”
Could that be a stab at her Dad? It’s no secret that the father and daughter have been feuding.

Billy tells GQ that Miley’s handlers interfered with his relationship with his daughter, and prevented him from being a proper parent.
Billy says he hasn’t spoken to Miley since the bong video surfaced and states, “I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger.”
Billy says he wishes “Hannah” had never happened — saying, “I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal.”
Billy also compares Miley to Anna Nicole Smith — saying, “You could see that train wreck coming.”

According to TMZ.com, Billy Ray Cyrus called check mate on his wife, Trish, and filed divorce papers in a Tennessee court on Tuesday. The couple has been married for 17 years. The papers cite the reason for the divorce as “irreconcilable differences”. Billy Ray is asking for “shared” custody of the couple’s 3 minor children.
The real question here is how will the divorce effect little old Miley? She’s already rebelled by embracing her slutty side with pole dancing, posing nude for Annie Leibovitz, and releasing a few racy videos. Maybe she’ll stop wearing her chastity ring. This could be bad news for the youngster.
Though Miley was AWOL, Billy and Trish’s two other children, Braison and Noah, were seen spending time with their mother in Los Angeles just after the papers were filed.

The pop superstar and daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus still gets an allowance and since hitting the road for her tour, she’s been grounded by her famous father, CTV reports.
“It was because I was being a smart aleck, I deserved it. I was smarting off,” Cyrus said in Toronto, her only Canadian stop of the tour. The interview came just before her sold out show at the Air Canada Centre.
The tour, featuring teen heartthrobs, the Jonas Brothers, has proved to be the one of the biggest draws of the year. Celebs Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, Steven Spielberg and Kobe Bryant have all checked out the show.
