Beyonce has debuted the music video for ‘Run The World (Girls)’ and is releasing her new album, ’4,’ on June 28. The video was premiered after ‘American Idol’ last night.
Columbia Records announced that they will release ’4,’ the fourth solo album for Beyonce, on Tuesday, June 28. The album was recorded over the past two years, and signifies not only her fourth solo effort, but the day of her birth. She also claims the title is a personal gift to her fans, as her fans urged her to name the album for her special number. That Beyonce, always giving back.
The highly anticipated video for ‘Run The World (Girls)’ was also released yesterday, and did not disappoint. The video is pure fire, focused entirely on dance, fashion and theatrics. I love the video – Beyonce proves she’s still the queen, and can indeed run the world. The video was filmed in LA and the Mojave Desert over three days in April. The video is directed by Francis Lawrence and contains over 200 dancers and a ton of exotic animals.
The video is a breath of fresh air. Finally, a singer releases a video with good dancing, good music, and good overall production. Videos are supposed to entertain and accompany the song – it’s got to bring it. And this definitely does.
Beyoncé has revealed the name of her upcoming album: “4.”
In an exclusive interview with Billboard, the music star says that the album’s title was inspired by her fans.
“Everywhere I look, I see them calling it ’4,’” she explains. “I had a whole other name and concept, but I keep seeing that the fans love the name ’4,’ and I think it would be a really nice thing to let them name the record.”
The number four also holds personal significance for Beyoncé, and not just because her latest studio album will be her fourth as a solo artist. “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me,” she says. “It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays, are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.”
Beyoncé, who will also be honored with the Billboard Millennium Award at the Billboard Music Awards on May 22, says that her early inspiration for the album came from Afrobeat music pioneer Fela Kuti.
“I recorded more than 60 songs: everything I ever wanted to try, I just did it. I started off being inspired by Fela Kuti. I actually worked with the band from “Fela!” [the hit Broadway musical based on his life] for a couple of days…what I learned most from Fela was artistic freedom: he just felt the spirit.”
Beyonce’s albums always bring-it to the table, so I’m excited for it. Her songs just have a universal appeal that gets everyone moving, so I have a feeling it will also be a huge success. The album is slated for a June release.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have reportedly been asked to perform at the royal wedding reception, reports Digital Spy.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are said to be big fans of the married entertainers and it is reported that the pair have accepted the offer.
“Both William and Kate are massive fans of Beyoncé and Jay-Z,” a source said. “They really wanted to make their big day even more special and what better way than by getting pop royalty to perform at the party?
“Will and Kate will have an official reception for hundreds of dignitaries before throwing a less formal bash for loved-ones. They both wanted to ditch traditions and make it more personal for them.”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are both in Europe at the moment while she promotes her new single ’Run The World (Girls),’ so maybe this is just a rumour due to the fact that they are in Europe? Or maybe it’s actually true? Who knows, but I find it very difficult to picture the Queen of England doing the Single Ladies dance.

Much like her single ‘Single Ladies,’ the song is a female anthem with heavy dance beats. I can see this being a smash hit… actually, it’s already on its way!
My only critique is that the song is a little repetitive… we get it Beyonce, you run the world. You don’t have to shout it over and over for four minutes. Whatever, it has a good beat and catchy chorus, so I’ll forgive her this time around. Return of Queen Beyonce!

Beyonce is teaming up with The National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation (NABEF) to encourage kids to stay active and healthy through dancing, reports Fit Perez.
The initiative, entitled “Let’s Move! Flash Workout”, is in support for Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign to curb childhood obesity. The campaign encourages middle school students across the U.S. to perform a pre-choreographed dance exercise at 1:42 p.m. on May 3. The event is being produced in partnership with the National Middle School Association, the National School Boards Association and the American Association of School Administrators.
“NABEF is proud to assist the First Lady’s ‘Let’s Move!’ campaign and supports efforts to address the epidemic of childhood obesity,” said NABEF President Marcellus Alexander. “We can think of no greater gift to America than keeping our schoolchildren healthy.”
The singer has re-written and re-recorded one of her songs, and even has recorded an instructional video demonstrating the “Lets Move! Flash Workout” routine.
On Wednesday, the First Lady spoke on a conference call to discuss advancing the “Let’s Move!” program goal of doubling the number of U.S. schools participating in the Healthier US School Challenge Program.
I couldn’t have thought of a better person for the job. Beyonce sings, she dances, she’s in great shape, and she’s someone young students can identify with. I remember many nights where I’ve done the “Single Ladies” dance with my friends (maybe I shouldn’t admit that) and Beyonce definitely has many other people dancing.
I love celebrity do-good-ers, and I’m positive this initiative will be a success. Celebrities have that effect on people where they want to participate, it gets people’s attention. If it takes Beyonce shaking her booty to get kids moving, or Lady GaGa selling MAC lipstick to fight AIDS, then so be it. Plus, if a personalized Beyonce dance video doesn’t get kids moving, I sure to hell don’t know what will.

Mike Myers has wed his longtime girlfriend Kelly Tisdale in a secret ceremony, said his rep to E Online. The two have been dating since 2006 and have been secretly married for several months.
“I can confirm that last fall, Mike Myers and Kelly Tisdale were married in a private ceremony and celebrated with family and friends,” his rep told E! News.
Myers’ was married once before to wife of 12 years, comedy writer Robin Ruzan, meanwhile Tisdale was previously linked with music star Moby.
It completely baffles me how celebs are able to get away with things like this. I mean, Mike Myers is by no means an A-list celebrity who is constantly being hounded by paparazzi, but you’d think at least one paparazzi would be on location. Props to him though if he’s able to be in movies AND have a private life – something that isn’t easy to do in the world of Hollywood. Must be because he’s Canadian.
Speaking of Hollywood, though, while we’re on the topic of Myers – what has he done lately? The last huge blockbuster he’s been in is, of course, Austin Powers, which I dearly miss. But he hasn’t really done much after that, has he? Sure, Shrek can count as something but he wasn’t actually acting in it. Throwing on some PJs and recording your voice in a booth isn’t exactly hard work, in my opinion.
I say it’s time to bring back another Austin Powers movie. Except no Beyonce in it, this time.
Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, went on the Ellen Degeneres show, in an episode that airs today, and set the record straight about Beyonce’s rumored pregnancy.
With all the rumors, by now I should have five or six grandchildren,” she says.
Tina was in good spirits and joked about the pregnancy by saying that she is actually the one pregnant. Good one Tina, we really hope you are not pregnant at 56.
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been married now for two years, but apparently a baby is not yet in the works. When Beyonce is finally pregnant, the world will be uninterested because there will be rumors then about how many actual children she already has.
Where do these rumors get started? Restaurants, when she is eating a larger amount than usual and not drinking? Or when photoshop fails to airbrush all of her curves out?
Again, for the record, Beyonce is NOT pregnant but her mother is. Congrats Tina.
Rumors are flying around that Beyonce is pregnant. Us Weekly is claiming a source close to Beyonce confirms the news.
“B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet … She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again,” the source said.
Even record executive Kevin Liles, who has known Jay-Z for years, is speaking out about the couple. “Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he’s always going to be,” he said. “I wish them the best.”
However, we have been down this road multiple times. People claiming Beyonce is pregnant and they always end up being false. So let’s not hold our breathe on this one!
We all know Elle Magazine as the top source for new fashion, beauty, and health trends. It is the most popular women’s magazine on newsstands today. According to PerezHilton.com and various other websites, Elle has gotten themselves into a little trouble this week for apparently changing the hue of Gabourey Sidibe’s skin.
In the past, L’Oreal ran into a similar dispute over whether or not they changed the hue of Beyonce’s skin. Elle Magazine claims that, “nothing out of the ordinary” had been done to the picture. However, it is difficult to believe this statement when we have images that clearly demonstrate the contrast in her skin color on the magazine cover to other photos of her at the Oscars etc. What was Elle Magazine thinking?
Perhaps they will delve deeper into their psychobabble and blame the change of skin color on the bright bulbs used on the photo shoot. This issue was supposed to be about young women who are changing the world. Unfortunately, the entire theme of the issue is going to be bypassed due to this controversy. Sidibe has not commented on the issue but I imagine that theangryblackwoman.com will provide a series of articles to discuss the issue of lightening skin color. It is quite depressing to think that the editors of Elle Magazine didn’t realize the stir they were going to cause. It seems like an extreme lapse in judgement.
Elle Magazine may lose a few readers after this one. Marie Claire better put out a damn good issue this month.

Although rumors have been circulating that Beyonce is pregnant, a rep for the singer tells MTV News that the report is “not true.”
A report on the Media Take Out site claims that a source close to Beyonce confirmed that Jay-Z and Beyonce were having a baby. However if you watch Beyonce’s newest video with Lady Gaga for “Telephone”, we don’t think anybody could say Beyonce was pregnant. Also, that video was only filmed last month.
Beyonce Knowles manages to keep a clean slate when it comes to her personal life, but her father, Matthew Knowles, isn’t as lucky. A paternity test has confirmed that Matthew Knowles, 58, is the father of a baby boy due to his indiscretion former Scrubs’ actress, Alexsandra Wright. Beyonce, 29 and Solange, 24 are now older sisters, according to people.com
The 38-year-old actress filed a paternity suit last October claiming that the two had an 18-month affair and that Knowles was the father to her child. The baby’s name is Nixon and was born last February. Last month the actress went to court in an effort to get child support from Knowles.

That’s what New York City fans were treated to last night at the Alicia Keys concert at Madison Square Gardens, reports MTV News. Before Keys hit the stage, fans were treated to Thicke, Fiona and Paul. Then Keys hit the stage appearing in a chain-wrapped cage, amidst the smoke that slowly flooded the stage.
After a few songs Beyonce surprisingly joined her fellow diva on stage for “Put It in a Love Song” that got fans riled up. And if that wasn’t enough, Jay-Z hit the stage later for “Empire State of Mind.” (see clip below)
That’s a lucky group of fans!
Over the weekend, many reports surfaced claiming that MTV had banned Lady Gaga’s latest video, “Telephone.”
But, a spokesperson for the channel cleared up the situation, reports MTV News.
“MTV did not ban Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s ‘Telephone’ video – in fact, we premiered it on Friday,” MTV Executive Vice President of Music and Talent Amy Doyle said. “Fans can continue to catch the video as we repeat it on-air and online.”
For those wondering, MTV typically airs music videos between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. on weekdays.
If Beyonce isn’t flawless enough, she is now. On Friday she and her mother, Tina Knowles, unveiled a project they have been working and dreaming about for years: the Beyonce Cosmetology Center. She spoke in downtown Brooklyn, New York, at the Phoenix House, which is a nonprofit recovery centre for drug and alcohol addiction, reports MTV News.
The press release states that the program is “a seven-month cosmetology training course for adult men and women.” L’Oreal will be donating all of the products used, as the superstar is a spokeswoman for the beauty company. The star and her mother have pledged to donate $100,000 annually to the program.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg attended the unveiling and after remarks from him, Tina and others, Knowles gave a gracious speech explaining both her ties to the house and her hopes for the program. In 2007, she first visited the house while researching for her role in “Cadillac Records”, where she played Etta James, a legendary blues, R&B, rock and roll, gospel and jazz singer/songwriter.
Mega-rap star Jay-Z may be in some hot water – in London, England. Perez Hilton.com reported that the 40-year-old rapper’s security would not allow white people in the VIP area at his BRIT awards after party.
The long-time rapper won a BRIT for Best International Male Solo; he and the Mrs. (Beyonce Knowles) threw a bash at Merah nightclub. Apparently while African American guests were let through the VIP entrance no problem, white people didn’t find it that easy.
Britain Daily Star Music Reporter Kim Dawson was among guests who tried to enter the VIP area but got denied, and was less than happy about it.
Looks like Beyonce’s Dad Matthew Knowles maybe a Daddy again.
TMZ is reporting that Alexsandra Wright claims to have had an 18 month affair with Matthew Knowles. She filed a paternity suit in October and gave birth February 4. Knowles has yet to take a paternity test nor has he paid any child support.

Beyonce is taking a little break reports USA Today. After an amazing 2009 in which she performed at President Obama’s inauguration, collaborated with Alicia Keys, an amazing tour and other notable events, Beyonce has said she needs some R&R.
After she performs at the Grammy Awards on January 31, she plans to do a whole lot of nothing. “I’ve always worked hard, but I feel like I worked harder this past year than I have since I was just starting out. I just had all these great opportunities. … It’s definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries,” the singer told USA Today. “I’d like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again.”
British actress Kate Winslet, known for her starring roles in such blockbusters as “Titanic,” ”Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Revolutionary Road,” and “The Reader,” has been voted as having the most desirable celebrity body, reports perezhilton.com.
