Barbara Streisand is auctioning off a number of personal items this weekend at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles. Over 500 items including art work, jewellery, furniture and costumes from films such as The Way We Were and Meet the Fockers will be on the bidding block, reports Perez Hilton.
Proceeds will go to the Streisand Foundation to provide grants for environmental and social justice causes.

A writer has recently been signed to draft a script, and executives are reportedly looking at Beyonce to resume Streisand’s role as Esther Hoffman. Beyonce would be joining the likes of Janet Gaynor and Judy Garland who have also played the role in earlier versions of the film.
Fans of Barbara Streisand are not enjoying the singer’s anti-President Bush remarks at her concerts.
First, a heckler told her to sing at her concert in New York a few weeks back, and now a fan threw a drink at Streisand when she began her anti-Bus rant, the Associated Press reports.
The incident happened at Streisand’s tour stop in Florida Monday evening. Her spokesperson said that while there was liquid in the cup, it didn’t hit the singer.
“It’s a free country and they’re entitled to express their opinion,” her assistant told AP in response to the reaction of the crowd.
Her assistant said the negative response has been due to the media coverage of the anti-Bush skit, adding that Streisand herself is a republican.
“This skit has been so massively covered by media, it’s impossible that it still could come as a surprise to any of the Bush admirers who bought tickets.”
Singer Barbara Streisand stunned audience memebers in Montreal this past Sunday night, despite a minor slip up.
According to the CBC, Steisand delighted the crowd at Montreal’s Bell Centre when she sang Ma Premiere Chanson in French, and made several Canadian references throughout the show.
However, she did make one slip up when she greeted Quebec Premier Jean Charest to the concert as the Prime Minister of Canada.
She apologized later, but the audience didn’t seem to mind either way.
“Who cares? Honestly it’s just a name. We weren’t there for them. We’re there for her,” one fan told CBC Radio.
This was not the first time that Streisand had to apologise for her on-stage conduct. During a concert in New York last week a she told a heckler to “shut the f… up.” The heckler was responding to a sketch in the singer’s show where she impersonates and criticizes U.S. President George Bush.
Her first show in Toronto sold out in less than thirty minutes, so Barbara Streisand has added a second Toronto date.
Canadian Press reports that the second show will be Oct. 20, three days after her first date in the city. Tickets go on sale Sept. 12 at 10 a.m., and range in price from $85 all the way to $550.
There will be a six ticket limit per person. This is the first time the singer will appear in concert in Toronto.
Besides being at the ACC on Oct. 17 and 20, Streisand will also be in Montreal on Oct. 15. The three dates are her only Canadian shows on her upcoming tour.
Looks like Barbara Streisand still has a huge fan base.
Tickets for the songstress’ concerts in Toronto and Montreal went on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, and now only a few seats remain – only for the Montreal show.
Canadian Press reports that the singer’s Toronto date at the Air Canada Centre sold out in less than 30 minutes, while Montreal’s concert has only a few seats remaining.
The two dates are the only Canadian scheduled stops on Streisand’s 20-city tour. Prices in Toronto ranged from $85 per ticket to $350 for a ticket. However, if you weren’t one of the ones lucky enough to buy from Ticket Master, online ticket resales are ranging from $250 to $1,700 per ticket.
Streisand hasn’t toured since the 1980s.
