Texas grandma Pearl Cantrell claims that eating bacon is the secret to a long life. Given that she’s turning 105-years-old, it’s not a statement we’re going to overlook.
Cantrell eats bacon everyday and credits her habit to keeping her young at heart. Bacon maker Oscar Mayer rewarded the centenarian with packages of bacon as delivered by the the company’s famous wiener mobile. Cantrell also got the opportunity to ride the famed hotdog on wheels.
With her as proof of bacon’s goodness, I will say: I’M GOING TO OUTLIVE ALL OF YOU! MUAHAHAHAHA!
Even after bacon soap, bacon flowers and even chocolate covered bacon, the world has somehow reached a new level of bacon-ness with Scope’s Bacon Mouthwash.
With this new flavour, Scope continues to create new and exciting ways to keep your mouth minty fresh — even if the flavour isn’t so. Their new mouthwash only tastes like bacon but will leave your breath smelling fresh “5 times longer than brushing alone.” And for those looking to cheat on their vegetarian ways, don’t fret! This mouthwash is made with “perfectly healthy synthetic flavouring” and Scope assures that “no pigs were harmed during the making of this product.
All hail the great bacon! The almighty and glorious food of our time!
*This is just a joke but considering all the bacon-products out there, I’m sure someone will start selling the real thing in no time.
Crowd sourcing has become an efficient means fund a number of different projects — be it medical bills, video games or a Veronica Mars movie. Now you and your friends can pitch in to make a favourite t-shirt design into a reality with TeePublic.
Launched by Josh Abramson (co-founder of College Humor and Vimeo), TeePublic is making it easier for graphic designers to finally see their designs on a t-shirt. The way it works is anyone can upload their designs and if 30 people in a month (that’s one person a day) agrees to buy your shirt, the company will put it into production and with every shirt sold, $5 per shirt goes back to the designer.
Considering just how creative the internet gets (have you seen the sloth photos?), here are just some of our favourite shirts so far on TeePublic:

There are a few important life lessons that I have stuck to throughout the majority of my life. A couple of them are:
Unlike the first two rules, the third is one that anyone can enjoy and it’s really fun to tell people you spent a whole summer watching Arthur with your 18-year-old brother.
One of my personal favourites (asides from Arthur) is Phineas & Ferb where they invent some crazy things during their summer vacation. Hilarity ensues as their sister tries to bust them and their pet platypus is actually a secret agent with an archenemy named Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
While most of the adult-friendly gags come from the doc, it’s kind of perfect to see him get his own YouTube channel (which may or may not be by Disney) where he comments on pop culture (last week: bacon & Honey Boo Boo Child). While the Doof is hilarious all on his own, too bad YouTube’s closed captioning can’t exactly pick up on his accent.
Here’s the latest installment of his show, Doof Daily, and remember to hit that CC button:
Thanks, cartoons for making us laugh, even if it wasn’t intentional!
Bacon is so good that it has even inspired a kid to write about it for a school assignment. But while I completely support this notion, I hope someone didn’t tell him about the bacon shortage. Because if he ever found out, it would be a huge letdown. (SOURCE)
If you haven’t been following the news lately, you’ve probably missed the very SERIOUS topic that is the bacon shortage. Just weeks after discovering Canadians lost the world’s maple syrup in a devastating f*ck-up, our bacon might be taken away too.
This year’s droughts have ravaged crops across North America and Russia and have had a huge impact on food supplies. The National Pig Association in the UK said: ”A world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable.” On top of that, the price of pork products may DOUBLE!!
Let’s get through this together people. In the meantime, let’s remember bacon as it was.
