B.o.B and André 3000′s new music video ”Play the Guitar” brought me back to when I was six years old, playing with my favourite toy ever, Lite-Brite.
The song was originally supposed to appear on B.o.B’s sophomore LP Strange Clouds, but it never made the cut. We couldn’t be more thrilled that we finally got our hands on it, along with a music video that uses a creative range of pixelated black and white dots. It’s pretty trippy and I would’ve loved to see their faces, but I can’t complain.
If you haven’t already heard, André 3000 will be playing Jimi Hendrix in a bio-pic All is By My Side.
Watch here:
B.o.B remembers his first kiss, and he’s pretty sure it had tongue. We’re not going to tell you how young he was (watch the clip for that) but he must have been a playground heartbreaker. In andPOP’s second episode of Way Back When, B.o.B also recalls the craziest house party he’s ever been to and even has a clip to show us. It involves a roof and a pool.

B.o.B’s “So Hard to Breathe” is heavy track that explores the dark side of success and how it’s so easy to get caught in the blur of fame. ”Since day one I said f*ck the fame and everything it dealt/but the fame is really here to facilitate the wealth,” raps B.o.B.
The track is from his upcoming sophmore album Strange Clouds, which will be out on May 1. We love the laid back guitar riffs by Sean Garrett.
This is the second track we’ve heard from the album, after his collaboration with Taylor Swift called “Both of Us.”
Listen to “So Hard to Breathe” below:
Taylor Swift came out of left field with this one, mildly shocking us all with a B.o.B collaboration, but I LOVE it. The song, “Both of Us” manages to fuse country and hip hop. It’s also another one of those songs that I want to put on after a long, hard day because it makes me feel a little bit better: “I wish I was strong enough to lift not one but both us
Some day I will be strong enough to lift not one but both of us,” she sings.
The song is on B.o.B’s forthcoming album Strange Clouds, which will be out on May 1. Though Swift only contributes two lines in the chorus, the harmony works.
Listen to the “Both of Us” here and the solo version below.
Solo version:
Taylor Swift surprised fans last night in Dallas by bringing out B.o.B. The two performed his hit single “Airplanes” with Taylor singing Hayley Williams portion.
“Had a night to remember in Dallas performing one of my biggest songs with the ever-so enchanting Taylor Swift,” tweeted B.o.B.
Taylor added, “Tonight was like a dream. That crowd.. The biggest indoor stadium in the world. And singing ‘Airplanes’ with B.O.B. !!!!!”
OneRepublic and rapper B.O.B have collaborated for a new remix of the band’s single ‘Good Life.’ The track is streaming online now.
OneRepublic have also just launched a new online scrapbook to keep up with their fans. Fans who tweet a photo of themselves living the good life, along with the #goodlife hashtag, will automatically be featured in the album on the band’s official website, OneRepublic.net.
‘Good Life’ is the latest single from the band’s album ‘Waking Up,’ which is now available on iTunes.
Taking place on a dusty, secluded road in Calabasas, CA, on one overcast day, lead-singer Ryan Tedder’s soft whistling fills the speakers as OneRepublic’s music video for their new single, “Good Life,” plays on the computer.
In the song, Tedder, the band’s frontman and chief songwriter, sings about having the choice to live a good life no matter what hurdles or rough patches come your way.
“It’s probably the most universal lyric we have in any song on the album,” Brent Kutzle, the band’s base guitar and cello player, told andPOP. “Every other song takes a minute to really get into or to fully understand.”
Having recently released a second version of their music video for the single, “Good Life,” Kutzle feels the new edition truly reflects what the band wanted for the video. “This is the version we were initially expecting,” says Kutzle, “and [it] exceeded our expectations.”
