Lauren Conrad Admits ‘Hills’ Uses Realistic Re-Shoots; Speidi Wedding Off
Lauren Conrad admitted to People yesterday that, just like Heidi Montag’s nose, The Hills is a little fake.
Conrad said that some scenes from the show are re-enacted, but defended it, saying it is for continuity purposes. “Basically what they’re doing is taking our lives and telling a story,” she told the mag. “They’re telling exactly what happened.”
One particular glaring evidence of re-shoots was “nail-polish-gate,” where Lauren went on a date with a model while wearing nail polish, and then apparently came right home and called another guy over – but her nail polish was gone. Lauren says that though her phone conversation was re-enacted, they said the same things the night before.
“I basically had to go and call [Brody] again, have the exact same conversation on camera. I mean, it’s not lying to anyone, it’s telling what really happened, but it’s just the way they film reality shows.”
She also admitted that MTV did orchestrate meetings between her and ex-BFF Montag, but only to show the real life drama. “But they only set that up because it was happening off-camera. We were getting into these situations where we were running into [Heidi and Spencer], and [MTV] kept missing them.”
Conrad also addressed the rumour that she and her roommate don’t live in the same apartment anymore. She admitted they do shoot outside the old building that they no longer live in, because people had begun stalking them, and their home is left private that way.
The Hills season finale aired last night, so that means MTV may have missed even more drama: TMZ reported yesterday that the Montag/Spencer Pratt wedding has been officially declared “dunzo.”
